optibelt ZRM/ZRPfor power drives
Optibelt ZRM/ZRP are timing beltsmanufactured in moulds, consisting ofhigh tensile, flexible tension cords andabrasion resistant polyurethane – alsoavailable as double section.
The following advantages result from themoulding procedure:• high pitch accuracy and low tolerances• high bond of the polyurethane to the
tension cord• belt lengths up to 2350 mm• sleeve working widths up to 380 mm
Available versions:• teeth on one side (standard); teeth on both sides
(sections T2,5; T5; T10; T20)• coloured, anti-static, mechanically machined, with cleats or fins (SRP)• special tension cords: E tension cord – highly flexible; stainless steel• stainless; aramid; polyester

optibelt ZRL-Vfor flexible drive solutions
Optibelt ZRL-V are joined endless timingbelts, manufactured from Optibelt ZRL-M.These are primarily used in transport/conveyor technology.
These are the advantages:• any length can be made in multiples of
the tooth pitch• cost effective and short delivery time• large variety of versions, also with
fabric coating• due to the break in the tension cord the
finished belt has only approx. 50% ofthe performance of the manufacturedendless timing belts
• ideal for materials handling technology• special tension cords available

The following further possibilities for mechanicalmachining are available to optimally adjust theproperties of the Optibelt SRP special timing beltsto the required purpose:• grinding of belt back• grinding of belt width• grooving the belt back in longitudinal direction• grooving the tooth side in longitudinal direction• removing of single teeth• punching holes in the timing belt• separate coatings of different durometers and/or
colours• milling of notches into belt back/coating
Optibelt special timing belts may beproduced with top surfaces, lugs or cleatsdirectly in the mould as SRP belts or fromoptiflex or ZRL-M/V, as well as beingmachined further. From the variety ofpossibilities for coating and processing inconnection with the characteristics of thetiming belt, innovative solutions inconveying technology can be developed. The table presents an overview of theavailable coatings.

optibelt special timing beltsfor conveying purpose
Optibelt special timing belts with cleats, lugs or fins are also manufactured asendless timing belts from the mould withadditional moulded surfaces as well assubsequently equipped with cleats orlugs based on optiflex or ZRL-V. If there isno appropriate lug in the existingprogramme, it can be manufactured oradapted according to your instructions. The following is an extract from ourstandard programme. We are delighted to support you to helpsolve your conveying problems.
Procedure for constructing thecleated belt
• Determination of the surroundingconstructionSelection of the timing belt (type, length) aswell as related pulleys. If support rails areutilized, it is recommended to use PA fabricon the tooth face.
• Selection of cleat or lugThe selection and dimensioning of thecleat or lug is decided by the application. The most favorable alternative is to use anexisting standard item from our extensiverange. These items can be adjusted,if required, by mechanical reworking.Special versions for individual solutionsfrom injection mouldings are possible(consider tool costs!).
• WeldingIf possible, the weld should be positionedopposite the belt tooth to maintain theflexibility of the timing belt. When the cleatis welded, a welding bead of approx.0.5-1.0 mm is formed – this, however, canbe removed, if required. When mountingthe cleat with adhesive, no welding beadis formed.
• TolerancesThe cleat position should be a function ofthe tooth pitch, avoiding accumulateddeviation. The tolerance of the cleat to therequired position is ± 0.5 mm.The tolerance of the cleat height is- 0.5 mm.
The welding width of the cleats shouldbe as small as possible, since otherwisethe flexibility of the timing belt canbe affected.

The advantages are:
• self centreing• reusable as often as required• not self-locking after release• adjustable in radial and axial
direction
Clamping bushes connect timing pulleys to shafts.
Clamping plates
are used in lineartechnology to fix thetiming belt to thehousing. For standard widthsthey are available exstock.
Only components and technical accessories optimally adjustedto the timing belts guarantee a perfect function and therequired performance of the drive.
In our delivery programme may be found a large number ofstandard items to solve drive problems.
Should our standard programme not be sufficient, we are alsodelighted to deliver special items to your instructions.
