Sunday October 15, 2017 4 DISTRICTS STATE TIMES NEWS DODA/RAMBAN: Carrying forward the Tiranga Rally to erstwhile Doda District, ex- MLA and NPP President Balwant Singh Mankotia asked Central Government to extend rights to Parliament of country to frame laws on Jammu and Kashmir. Until rights are extended to lawmakers of the country, dream of one nation one Constitution could not be fulfilled. After successful conduct- ing the Tiranga Rally in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, NPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia carried forward the rally to hilly erstwhile Doda and Ramban district of Jammu region on the eve of acces- sion day. While addressing the gathering at Ramban and then at Doda, Mankotia said that party has started Tiranga rally on the eve of accession day on 8th of October from Samba and organised rallies at Reasi, Udhampur, Rajouri and Poonch district and on Saturday reached at Ramban and Doda district. Mankotia said that until rights to frame laws on Jammu and Kashmir are extended to Parliament of the country, dream of one nation, one constitution can- not be fulfilled. He said Oct 27, 1947 is an historic day for us when people of the state get right to become the citizen of great country. He further said NPP demands that Accession Day be celebrated at government level like 26thJanuary and 15th August and people should celebrate this day like Diwali, Eid and Gurpurab.On this occasion, BSP leader Sohail Mohammed and General Secretary Prithvi Raj Bhagat along with Ramban district unit and supporters joined the Panther Party and NPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia welcomed them in party fold. STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: Krishi Vigyan Kendra(KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised a training programme on com- mercial organic farming here today at Talwara village in Pouni block of Reasi district which was attended by a large number of farmers of the village. The programme was organ- ised under the guidance of Associate Director Extension and Incharge of KVKs of SKUAST-J, Dr.R.K Arora. Various theoretical as well as practical sessions were organised during the pro- gramme on organic farming. Scientist and Head of KVK, Reasi, Dr.Banarsi Lal gave a detailed view on com- mercial organic farming and said that eco-friendly organic farming is helpful for the enhancement of soil health, sustainable yield and income. He highlighted the need of organic farming to harvest quality farm produce without any residual effect. H e stressed on the proper mar- keting management of the organic crops. Dr.Suja Nabi Qureshi, sci- entist guided the farmers for the organic treatments of insects-pests and diseases in Rabi crops. He recommend- ed certain organic chemicals for their management. He added that organic vegeta- bles grown under protected conditions give more yield and farmers can grow the vegetables throughout year under the green net house/polyhouse. He also gave technical details of organic floriculture specially marigold cultivation, medici- nal and aromatic plants, veg- etables and fruits processing etc. In this training pro- gramme farmers interacted with the scientists and cleared their doubts especial- ly on commercial organic farming. The event was also attend- ed by an awardee progressive organic crops grower, Hans Raj who shared his experi- ences on organic farming with the other farmers. The scientists also demonstrated the techniques of growing the winter vegetables in a scien- tific way and provided winter vegetables seeds to the farm- ers through Front Line Demonstrations (FLDs). STATE TIMES NEWS NOWSHERA: An aware- ness programme on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) was held in Boys Higher Secondary School Nowshera. STATE TIMES NEWS SAMBA: Irked over denial to National Anthem by Polytechnic College admin- istration, students held a strong protest in the college premises. Raising slogans against college administration, stu- dents alleged that certain section of teachers started abusing and misbehaving them for the reason that they had sought time for National Anthem. Sensing trouble, SHO Samba Yash Pal Singh Jamwal reached the college and tried to pacify the stu- dents, who were demanding strict action against the teacher involved in conflict with them. Consequently, the SHO Samba sought some time from the students to get information regarding the incident from the College Authorities to resolve the conflict. Irked over denial to National Anthem, Polytechnic students protest LMD recovers Rs 40,600 as penalty from nine traders STATE TIMES NEWS SAMBA: A team of Legal Metrology Department under the supervision of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Samba Ajay Verma, Inspector LMD Samba Mohsin Khateeb and enforcement staff launched a special drive in view of Diwali fes- tival. The team conducted extensive checking of various business establishment particularly Sweets shops, Provisional stores dealing with gift items , Karyana shops dealing with Dry fruits, Hadware store, Cement stores, Bartan shops, and Bakery shops at main Bazar Samba, vijaypur, Bari Brahamana, Nud and adjoining areas. Rs 10,500 fine charged from traffic violators STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: A team of Motor vehicle Department on Saturday charged Rs 10,500 fine from traffic violators during a sur- prise inspection in the main town areas. A team comprising ARTO Shammi Sharma MV Inspectors Vikas Srivats and Sunil Sharma along with district police conducted checking at Trintha, Thapa Chowk and Baradari areas of the town and compounded 63 vehicles for not wearing crash helmet and seat belt as also not possessing Pollution control certificate. The two wheeler riders and four wheeler drivers were also made aware about the safety benefits of wearing helmet and seat belt and following traffic rules to minimize road acci- dents and saving precious human lives. An amount of Rs 10,500 was charged as fine from the offenders on spot. According to a report, on an information regarding the illegal use of Dhabas/Tea stalls for alcohol consumption, Vijaypur police conducted raid at dif- ferent Dhabas located on NHW and arrested three persons consuming liquor. They have been identified as Rishu kumar son of Babu Ram resident of Ghadwal , Abhinav Sharma son of Kuldeep Sharma resident of Vijaypur and Mukesh Kumar son of Roop Chand resident of Vijaypur. STATE TIMES NEWS SAMBA: The DistrictInformation Centre (DIC) ,Samba organised DogriMushairas at Govt Hr SecSchool Gho Brahmana andGovt Middle School Gadwalof Vijaypur in which manypoets recited their poemsrelated to Culture, Languageand social issues.

Many prominent and bud-ding poets of the district par-ticipated including Ajit palSharma, Ajay Slathia ,Naresh Kumar ,BasakhiRam, Satya Paul Gadwalia ,Neelam Gandotra , Sat paul ,Jasbir Kumar and SurjeetKumar.The poets presentedtheir poetry with great per-fection and were appreciatedby the audience. Theystressed on standardizing thelanguage and promoting itsuse as it has also been givendue official recognition in theeighth schedule of the IndianConstitution.

The DIC had organised the

functions with objective ofproviding stage to local poetsand to promote the local lan-guage in society. Also, inter-action of young poets withestablished poets of the dis-trict and children would golong way in shaping the liter-ary talent.

The poets appreciated theinitiative of the departmentfor promoting the motherlanguage and said that suchprogrammes should be

organized in near future sothat people in general and lit-erary personalities of the dis-trict particularly may partic-ipate in these events. Students,Teachers of various schools,Lambardars, Chowkidars,Ex-PRI members, Ashaworkers, Anganwadi work-ers/helpers and prominentcitizens participated in theprogramme.

A debate competition washeld in which students of var-ious schools participated.The mementos were distrib-uted among the winners andconsolation prizes to all theparticipating students.

Raising slogans againstcollege administration, stu-dents alleged that certainsection of teachers startedabusing and misbehaving

them for the reason thatthey had sought time forNational Anthem.

Sensing trouble, SHOSamba Yash Pal SinghJamwal reached the collegeand tried to pacify the stu-dents, who were demandingstrict action against theteacher involved in conflictwith them.

STATE TIMES NEWS SAMBA: A team of Legal Metrology Department under thesupervision of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology SambaAjay Verma, Inspector LMD Samba Mohsin Khateeb andenforcement staff launched a special drive in view of Diwali fes-tival. The team conducted extensive checking of various businessestablishment particularly Sweets shops, Provisional storesdealing with gift items , Karyana shops dealing with Dry fruits,Hadware store, Cement stores, Bartan shops, and Bakery shopsat main Bazar Samba, vijaypur, Bari Brahamana, Nud andadjoining areas. During inspection, more than 90 traders deal-ing with different trades were inspected for their compliancewith regards to various provisions of J&K Standard of Weightsand Measures Enforcement Act 2011 and PackagesCommodities Rules. The team booked nine erring tradersincluding sweet shops, provisional stores, Karayana Shops andhardware /sanitary stores dealing with the Weights andMeasures and penalty of Rs 40,600 was imposed on them.

STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: A team of Motor vehicle Department on Saturdaycharged Rs 10,500 fine from traffic violators during a sur-prise inspection in the main town areas. A team comprisingARTO Shammi Sharma MV Inspectors Vikas Srivats andSunil Sharma along with district police conducted checking atTrintha, Thapa Chowk and Baradari areas of the town andcompounded 63 vehicles for not wearing crash helmet andseat belt as also not possessing Pollution control certificate.The two wheeler riders and four wheeler drivers were alsomade aware about the safety benefits of wearing helmet andseat belt and following traffic rules to minimize road acci-dents and saving precious human lives. An amount of Rs10,500 was charged as fine from the offenders on spot.
