At Oliver’s Market Our Roots are In Fresh Produce.
In 1972 Steve Maass and his wife, Ruth
Maass, began selling produce from off
the back of a truck in San Francisco,
CA. They converted an old Coca-Cola
truck into a mobile fruit stand which
became a retail phenomenon every
summer at Taraval and Dewey streets.
The stand was so successful that they
hired valets to park cars and the stand
was featured on “Eye on San Francisco”
and “Good Morning America.” Later in
1988 we moved to Sonoma county and
opened Oliver’s Market.~ Steve Maass
Our produce departments are the
foundation of our stores. We believe
in the importance of supporting local
farmers and each of our Produce
Managers have long-established
relationships with local growers.
Each store’s Produce Department
contains two distinct departments:
one conventional, one organic.
Unlike other stores, we carry a full line
of both organic and conventional pro-
duce to offer the widest selection. Our
commitment to quality and value goes
back to when our founder Steve Maass
ran his roadside produce stands.
Once you shop one of our produce
departments, you’ll know why we say
“Our roots are in produce.”
County Line Harvest is a certified organic farm with

them to meet the varied produce demands
of their customers year-round. Their crops
