4.3. VICTORIAN CATCHMENTS

Only two out of the five stations analysed (403241 Ovens @ Peechelba-east

and 406202 Campaspe @ Pumps) indicated a statistically significant trend.

Both of these stations were observed to have a trend of 0.4 ± 0.3 µS/cm/yr.

In the case of the catchment salt balances, all stations had mean SO/SI ratios

greater than one. The mean SO/SI ratio for 407203 Loddon @ Laanecoorie

was 4.51, with yearly values ranging from 0.86 in 1998 to 8.4 in 1996. For

406202 Campaspe @ Pumps the mean SO/SI ratio was 2.99, with yearly

values ranging from 0.62 in 1999 to 6.5 in 1989. For 402205 Kiewa @

Bandiana the SO/SI ratio was 2.34, with yearly values ranging from 1.35 in

1997 to 3.44 in 1995. The last station analysed in Victoria was 409204 Murray

River @ Swan Hill. For this station the SO/SI ratio was 1.90 with yearly values

ranging from 0.68 in 1998 to 3.01 in 1989.
