UPCOMING EVENTS

DATE EVENT

1/04 Easter Bonnet Parade

1/04 Last Day of term

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Wow time is flying by this year. I had a bit of fun last week on Friday with my “Half Way to Holidays”

outfit! Our children were surprised that we were half way through the term and I certainly

appreciated the opportunity to ask them about their learning and also what learning might be next

for them in the coming weeks as we draw to a close for Term 1 2021.

I had the pleasure this week of visiting the Year 6’s on camp and it’s worth noting how extremely

happy I was with what I saw. This group of children were representing our Peak Crossing Family to

the highest of standards. Thank you year 6’s for this excellent effort. I was delighted to hear the

stories of challenging themselves, supporting each other and really enacting that care and

compassion component that we all know is so valuable as a society.

School Review

We are well underway with our work in the School Review – I am currently working with staff to

finalise our plans for this year in relation to the report that can be found on our website that outlines

the next part of our shared learning journey. We look forward to sharing more in depth information

around this with you in the near future.

Code of School Behaviour

We have been working on our Code of School Behaviour and aligning to the new requirements of

our Department. A copy of this document will be uploaded shortly to the school website. It outlines

our collective obligations in creating a safe and supportive school environment for all students.

This document will be revised as we move through the year to reflect changes within our school on

how we manage behaviours (positive and negative). As we make those modifications we will share

them with you and at times seek feedback on our changes and our relative success in making our

school the very best it can be.

Parent Volunteer Register

With COVID on the relax, I am confident that we can arrange to allow on campus assistance as we have done in the past. The first step will be getting a register of interested parents and then providing the compulsory training as soon as possible.

Please register your interest and availability at the office so that I may make arrangements for our very important volunteer assistance in classroom and for programs across the school.

Kind Regards,

Andrew Cummings Principal Peak Crossing State School

Classroom Awards

Congratulations to the following students on receiving classroom awards in the last fortnight.

Jarrad N, Ameera A, Landon D, Amelia G, Tyson F, Mason B, Isaiah M, Simone T, Ruby B,

Toys at School

Please be advised that students are not permitted to bring personal items such as toys to school. We do understand the sentimental aspect of the toys, however it is to safeguard against something happening to these prized possessions. If students have an electronic device such as iPads or Mobile Phone, they must be signed in at the office and then collected and signed out at the end of the day. Behaviour Focus

Tuckshop Crew News

We are already in week 6 of this term. Tuckshop is still running well. Last newsletter I sent out a

volunteer form but as yet, I have received no replies. As I have previously mentioned, volunteers

staff the Tuckshop and to continue to operate we need your help. Please consider volunteering. I

am sure you will enjoy the experience as much as I do.

In the next newsletter, I will be including an order form for Taco Day. These will be in the Taco

boats. The Taco mix will consist of beef, tomato, onion, corn and beans. The Tacos will be very

mildly spiced as well.

It will be quiet this week as the year 6 students are on camp. The older students have been

invaluable in helping the younger students making purchases at the Tuckshop.

Once again, I ask that you consider volunteering. I am sure your children would love to see you

there. Even if you can only manage one day this year, your assistance will be appreciated.

Irene Hounslow

Tuckshop Convenor.

I would like to volunteer in the Tuckshop
