Practice/Role Play Betty is on a Field Trip to see a winter holiday performance of the Nutcracker at a local theater in town. While the performance is going on Betty is focused on texting back and forth with her best friend who is seated many seats away. They think that this would be acceptable since they were not talking out disrupting others around them

What expectations were not followed here?

The Correct Way Betty is on a Field Trip to see a winter holiday performance of the Nutcracker at a local theater in town. Before getting off the bus at the theater one of the attending POCS teachers reminds all students that cell phone are to be on silent mode. After the seating is worked out Betty and her friend are several seats away from each other. The performance is starting and Betty is focused on the performance, forgetting all about her cell phone as it was on silent.

We DoBetty was going on a field trip to the Washington Zoo. All students were told to bring a bag lunch as there would be no opportunities to purchase a lunch at the zoo. Betty departs from her home late the morning of the trip as she could not find a clean POCS shirt. Finally ready, Betty tells her mother to hurry up in the car as she will be late. Nearly at school Betty remembers that she is to bring a lunch with her. Already late Betty has her mother stop at a local convenience store to purchase her lunch. Now really late Betty calls the school on her cell phone to let them know she is on the way.  Betty was going on a field trip to the Washington Zoo. All students were told to bring a bag lunch as there would be no opportunity to purchase lunch at the zoo. The evening before the trip Betty talks with her mom and tell her that she must be at school no later than 7:30 and will need a bag lunch for the trip. Knowing all this Betty lays out all of her clothes she is going to wear the next day and prepares her lunch. She sets her alarm clock so that she has at least 10-15 minutes to spare in arriving to school before 7:30. The next morning Betty gets up dresses, grabs her lunch and arrived well before the 7:30 deadline

Why is the second scenario an example of our expectations.
