The tray for packs of especially liquid-secreting foodstuffs (for example, meat) is produced from a three-layer sheet, the two outer layers (11, 12) of which consist of foamed polystyrene, while a middle enclosed sheet consists of a narrower strip-shaped insert (13) made of absorbent material (for example, fibrous paper material). In the regions left uncovered by the narrower in- sert (13), the outer layers (11, 12) are connected directly to one another by means of gluing, wel- ding, etc. The upper layer (11) pointing towards the packaged article has holes (14) which are continuous to the insert (13) and through which liquid (for example, meat juice) flows off and is then stored in the absorbent insert (13).

A pressure vessel for a backpack agricultural sprayer is mounted within a container of the sprayer and connected to the sprayer pump so that liquid from the container is forced under pressure into the pressure vessel for a spraying discharge therefrom. Sediment precipitated from herbicides or insecticides employing wet- table powders tends to collect at the bottom of the pressure vessel and a combined sediment agitating and pressure regulating action is pro- vided by a pressure regulator valve mounted in the pressure vessel and having a suction tube connected between the valve and the area of the pressure vessel where the precipitated sediment collects.

The invention relates to a new process for pre- paring O-pyrimidinyl N, N-dimethylcarbamates of the formula (I) See Patent for Chemical Struc- ture (I) in which R stands for straight-chain or branched alkyl, R1 stands for hydrogen or op- tionally substituted radicals from the series alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylsulphinyl or alkylsulphonyl, R2 stands for hydrogen or op- tionally substituted alkyl or RI and R2 together can form a fused-on optionally substituted saturated or unsaturated ring, A stands for straight-chain or branched alkylene and n stands for 0, 1 or 2. Components of the above formula (I) are obtained when hydroxypyrimidines of the formula (I1) See Patent for Chemical Structure (II) in which R, RI, R2, A and n have the above mentioned meanings, are reacted with N, N- dimethylcarbamoyl halides of the formula (lid See Patent for Tabular Presentation PS in which Hal stands for chlorine or bromine, at tem- peratures between 0 degrees C. and 150 degrees C. and in particular between 20 degrees C. and 100 degrees C. in the presence of a catalytic amounts ofa bicyclic organic amine, in the pre- sence of acid acceptors and in the presence of a diluent. The bicyclic organic amines are pre- ferably 1,4-diazabicyclo(2,2,2)-octane (DABCO) and quinuclidine, DABCO being par- ticularly preferable. The O-pyrimidinyl N,N- dimethylcarbamates of formula (1) are highly active insecticides.
