Trust in the Lord -

Nine years ago, my wife lay in a hospital bed, fighting for her life. She showed a calm assurance that the Lord

was in control of the situation. Her peace was the result of trusting in the Lord. I too had trusting in the Lord for

eight years, standing for the healing of my marriage. I thanked God for bringing my wife home, so that I could be

with her during the illness that would ultimately claim her life.

"But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the

water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It

has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." Jeremiah 17:5-8

Standing is doing what is right, regardless of the circumstances. Standing is doing what the Lord would have you

do, not what the world says you should do. Standing will result in a bountiful harvest if you are obedient to God

and your marriage vows. As my wife lay in that hospital bed, I cherished the opportunity that God gave me to

pray for her, to be with her and to show her my unwaveringly love in both sickness and in health.

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

Galatians 6:9

It tears my heart to see a stander give up after a certain length of time that they decide has been long enough.

They will miss out of the wonderful delight of tasting the fruit of the harvest that I have experienced! I pray that

you will stand firm in your conviction for the healing of your marriage. If God has called you to stand, then

STAND!

"The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it." 1 Thessalonians 5:24

"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit – fruit that will last. Then the

Father will give you whatever you ask in my name." John 15:16

I have tasted the fruit of my obedience and I pray that you too will persevere until the Lord heals your home. I

was humbled that God, in His timing, brought my wife home. I told my wife throughout our divorce that I would be

there for her whenever she needed me. In hindsight, I believe that my wife knew when she came home that her

time on this earth was short. She knew that I would be there for her during her final days this side of heaven. All

the pain of separation and divorce was worth being with my wife during her illness. We do not know the plans

that the Lord has for us, but it is only in being obedient to the call, that we will be blessed with the strength and

grace to face life's difficulties. I am so thankful that God called me to stand and blessed me with this wonderful

gift of healing our home.

"Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4

A lifetime is not too long to wait for the healing of your marriage. You will reap an eternity of blessings when you

do.

"I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will

sing praise to your name, O Most High."

Psalm 9:1-2

Giving up will never result in blessings from the Lord. Pleasing God is reason enough to stand and to continue

standing. It is when we fight for our "rights" to be happy that we miss the wonderful blessings that only the Lord

can provide.

"I do not trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but you give us victory over our enemies, you put

our adversaries to shame. In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever." Psalm44:6-8

Can you see the wisdom of doing things God's way? Can you see that the path that the Lord would have you

walk is the path of true happiness? May my experience be a beacon of hope to you as you persevere for the

healing of your marriage.

"Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For his mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,

whom he has redeemed from the hand of the enemy...Whoever is wise will observe these things, and they will

understand the lovingkindness of the Lord." Psalm 107:1-2,43

Today, as I do everyday, I will pause and pray for your home. I pray that you too some day will be able to tastethe fruit of a healed marriage. I pray that you will stand firm and not lose hope. I pray that God will bless you with

the desires of your heart!

God bless you, as you place your trust in Him.

"Now may the God of peace...make you complete in every good work to do his will, working in you what is well

pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen." Hebrews 13:20-21
