Telangana Ophthalmological Society

Message from the Scientific Committee Telangana Ophthalmological Society

Dear friends, colleagues, well wishers and the rest, This is the fourth year running, that we have been able to put together a nice scientific program for the annual meeting of the Telangana Ophthalmological Society and we have thoroughly enjoyed and journey so far. What started as a fledgling society meeting has now emerged as a sought after meeting both for speakers and for attendees. Over the last few years, we have tried several new variations of the program, including Masterclasses, Audience Oriented Sessions, Skills Transfer sessions, se Technology session and a new grand rounds session. All of these have been successful, due the amazing international, national and state faculty speakers, who have graced the podium over time. This year on, we have introduced a retrospective points scoring system, to award medals for academic excellence from next year onwards for significant and consistent participation in the scientific program. This should go a long way in encouraging participation and involvement.I would like to thank the members of the scientific committee, Dr Rishi Swarup, Dr Srinivas Prasad, Dr Samatha G and Dr Ashok Madiraju for all the help and support over the last 4 years. None of what we have done would have been possible without the unstinting support of the Executive Committee and the constant advice of Dr Manoj Mathur, Dr Nandkishore K along with the amazing cooperation from all the local organizing committees. My sincere gratitude to Dr Madhukar Reddy for shouldering the burden this year since I couldn’t contribute all the time I would have liked to!Most gratifyingly, we have witnessed a shift in the interest of the audience with more presence inside the halls each year and some superb submissions for the competitive sessions. Thank you for all your support and I’m sure the scientific content of the meetings is in safe hands with Dr Santosh Honavar taking over.

Here’s to making the annual Telangana Ophthalmological Society meeting, the best in the country…signing off…

Telangana Ophthalmological Society

Its really heartening to see that our fledgling society is 4 years old and we are going to have our 4th Annual conference at SDEH from the 13-15th july 2018.

Thanks to our very dedicated Chairman , Scientific Committee Dr Pravin Krishna the scientific temper of the society has gone from strength to strength. Today our annual meetings are without doubt acclaimed as among the best.

Dr Ravinder Goud & Dr Rajalingam from SDEH along with their team have worked round the clock in putting together a wonderful conference this year. They deserve all the credit.

The term of the first Executive of our Society comes to an end with this conference. I on behalf of my entire team thank each and every member for giving us an opportunity to serve and guide the society in its initial difficult times. We sincerely hope we have lived upto the expectations of one and all.

My advice to the new team which takes over-lets all remember that promoting science is our most important goal and the society is bigger than the individuals. If we remember this there is only one way for the society to go and that is higher and higher.

Wishing the conference a grand success

The purpose of our yearly conferences as you are all aware is to exchange knowledge which is rapidly changing, know what newer products and services are available in the market place to provide better service for our patients and know each other better and strike newer working relationships to face day to day challenges.

This year the scientific committee has put together a comprehensive and wonderful program to cater to our needs.
