Lucy used ‘Governor ’ bricks in Wakehurst, Foveaux, King

steel-and-glass door and anchored by a foliage-topped

table, the conservatory-style room evokes the mood of

a laid-back coastal hacienda.”

space. My inspiration was The Wizard of Oz. I used the

colour ‘Sol from the Camilla for Austral’ Bricks range.

Increasingly, architects and designers are specifying

bricks for interiors for their aesthetic qualities and utility.

Bricks offer warmth and depth and enhance a space

with their inherent texture, colour and pattern.”

Austral Bricks ‘La Paloma’ bricks in Miro and Gaudi. “We

love the elegant, slim-line proportions which add a

dynamic quality to the installation and reinforce the

mid-century look. We used the bricks’ every face and

surface, including the core holes that have been filled

with mortar on the floor.”

Lush for the floor. I was inspired by art deco brickwork

and aimed to draw in dappled light for a light, bright

Inspired by iconic Italian designer Giò Ponti, Ryan Russell

dimensions. Bricks were laid in a 3-D pattern using the

‘Burlesque’ collection in Indulgent White, Smashing Blue

floor meets wall,” the designers explain. Crisp white

furniture and accessories complement the brickwork.
