I Sunday 5th March at 8.15am Yew tree opposite The Rectory in Church Lane This very old yew tree is at the edge of the churchyard on the road to the Hospice. After services on Sunday mornings its branches are usually decorated with children climbing and dangling from them!

2 Monday 6th March at 3.15pm Approach to village with daffodils Daffodils line the verge along the Ely Road, taken during a quiet moment.

3 Tuesday 7th March at I.05pm Pancake race, Milton School Teachers round off the pancake races at Milton Primary School with a fine display of technique and some wonderful facial expressions. These races had been an annual tradition in the school in the 1980's, but had not been held for some years because the weather was so cold and wet: this year the rain held off.

5 Wednesday 8th March at I pm Norman Industrial Estate Looking back towards Cambridge Road.

6 Thursday 9th March at 12.4Spm Tree in blossom, in Coles Road The Myrobalan Plum (Prunus Cerasifera) is a native of the Balkans. Normally the first plum tree in flower it is often mistaken for the blackthorn. The yellow plums are edible.

7 Friday 10th March at lOam North-east aspect from lower Fen Road

8 Saturday I I th March at 2.30pm Jumble Sale The Scouts hold popular jumble sales twice each year. This shows the serum inside the Community Centre.

I Sunday 12th March at 4pm Birds on lake in Milton Country Park A spring collection of the many birds to be seen in the Country Park.

2 Sunday 12th March Forsythia in bloom An early season this year.

3 Monday 13th March at lOam Recycling Centre A busy place - it is quite often necessary to queue to get in. This photo was taken at a relatively quiet time.

4 Tuesday 14th March at 2.30pm Common reeds These reeds can be seen when entering Milton Country Park from the north side.

5 Wednesday 15th March at I 1.30am Ponies in field Ponies are often kept in this field opposite Tesco, at the entrance to the village. The new cycle bridge will be built alongside the field next year.

6 Thursday 16th March at 3.50pm Edmund House The old house was on this site; it has been replaced by a group of modern homes more suited to a family style of care for residents of the Mencap home.

7 Friday 17th March Milton Ladies Celebrating the group's 25th Anniversary with a reunion in All Saints' Church Hall.

8 Saturday 18th March at 3.45pm Milton v Hargrave Park Utd. A Milton corner is cleared. Final result o - 2. Hargrave Park went on to become champions. Milton escaped relegation on the last day of the season by goal difference.

3 Monday 20th March at 5pm Paperboy Craig Smith delivering the Cambridge Evening News in Coles Road.

4,5,6 Tuesday 21 st March 'High Fives' 5-a-side netball competition * 4 20 local primary school teams entered; two of these from Milton. 5 Milton Munchies (seen here in red bibs) reached the semi-finals. 6 The others were called Mighty Milton.

7 Tuesday 21 st March Sheltered housing Some of the Parish Council took the opportunity to see Barnabas Court as it neared completion.

8 Wednesday 22nd March at I I am A milestone near the allotments in Ely Road This stone gives the distances in miles to London, Cambridge and Ely, but is now difficult to read.

9 Thursday 23rd March at 12 noon The green in Shirley Close Shirley Lodge, owned in the 19th Century by Mrs Shirley, once stood near here and gave the close its name.

10 Friday 24th March Village sign At this time of the year Milton is bathed in daffodil yellow. A reminder that nature's providence is everlasting.

I I Saturday 25th March Wedding guest Peter Henderson ready to set off from his home in Hall End to attend a wedding in London.
