The first step to tailor your work to maximize purpose is to appreciate the purpose you already have today. At the end of the day take 1 minute and reflect on what brought energy and inspiration. What work? Conversations? Learning? Impact?
Over time, look for patterns for what brings meaning to your work and intentionally find ways to do more of those things. It is that easy.

Note which ones make you FEEL inspired. Look for common themes of the industries, causes, or company practices that inspires you most. Lean into the area you are most inspired by that can benefit most from your unique strengths.

What metrics can you use to define purpose?

The best metric I know is simply rating the levels of meaning you get from relationships, making and impact and personal growth.
Once a week write down a number from 1-10 reflecting how strongly you agree with each of these statements:

1. An Intended Impact statement. 2. The Strategies (initiatives) for
creating the impact you intend. 3. Impact Measurements for tracking
your progress towards your intended impact.
