Dear families of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, We begin the final week of Lent with these familiar readings. This year, we hear the Passion from the Gospel of Luke. These readings for Palm Sunday and the Passion used to be read on successive Sundays. Now they are combined into a single feast, so that we may see the whole sweep of the glory and the suffering played out. Jesus accepts the adulation of the crowd, the foreshadowing of his glory in the Resurrection. He bids farewell to his disciples in his last Passover, and forgives his tormentors as he dies on the cross. Later this week, we enter the Holy Triduum of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, when the whole story of our redemption will play out once again. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 18-19-20 there will be no morning masses. They are replaced by Lauds (Bilingual) at 8:00AM. Holy Thursday Mass will be a Bilingual mass at 7:00PM. Good Friday we will have the Lord’s Passion at 12:00 and 3:00PM English and 6:00PM Spanish with Live Stations at 5:00PM. Holy Saturday we will only have the Easter Vigil Mass at 8:00PM. +++ Queridas familias del Inmaculado Corazón de María, Empezamos la última semana de Cuaresma con estas lecturas ya conocidas. Lenten Penance Services Delta Deanery April 15 - Our Lady Queen of the World
Updates on Maintenance and Repairs at IHM
As we refresh our spiritual lives with Christ’s resurrection we can also refresh our lives at Immaculate Heart of Mary. We survived the rains and winds of winter with the roofing maintenance that was done last fall. We ended 2018 with new floors in the Hall and shades on the windows. In January we painted the interior of the hall and added some rugs for the Church. Our classroom floors were cleaned and waxed over the school break in March and they look like new. Now we are getting ready for the projects planned for 2019. You may have noticed the fountain in the plaza being worked on. Part of the broken base is being repaired, timers upgraded and pumps improved. We will be caulking and painting all the exterior buildings of the Church, hall and classrooms. Additional electrical will be run to the front of the Church grounds as well as the back grounds. The landscaping around the plaza will be done and sprinkler systems functioning. Parking lot will be paved and striped. All of these projects have been planned for this year in stages. We want to keep IHM maintained and beautiful. All of this is possible thanks to your generosity.

Información sobre el mantenimiento y reparaciones en ICM Mientras refrescamos nuestras vidas espirituales con la resurrección de Cristo, también podemos refrenar nuestras vidas en el Inmaculado Corazón de María. Sobrevivimos a las lluvias y los vientos del invierno con el mantenimiento de los techos que se realizó el otoño pasado. Terminamos 2018 con pisos nuevos en el Salón y cortinas en las ventanas. En enero pintamos el interior del Salón y agregamos algunas alfombras para la Iglesia. Es posible que hayan notado que se está trabajando en la fuente en la plaza. Parte de la base rota es la reparación de los temporizadores y la mejora de las bombas. Estaremos calafateando y pintando todos los edificios exteriores de la Iglesia, salón y aulas. La electricidad adicional será divertida al frente de los terrenos de la Iglesia, así como a los fondos. Se realizará el paisajismo alrededor de la plaza y funcionarán los sistemas de rociadores. El estacionamiento será pavimentado y rayado. Estos proyectos que se han planificado para este año son etapas. Queremos mantener ICM mantenido y hermoso. Todo esto es posible gracias a su generosidad.

On Palm Sunday, we celebrate the first joy of the season, as we celebrate Our Lord's triumphant entrance into Jerusalem where he was welcomed by crowds worshiping him and laying down palm leaves before him. It also marks the beginning of Holy Week, with the greatest tragedy and sorrow of the year. Jesus' triumphant return to Jerusalem is only one side of the story. By now many of the Jews are filled with hate for Our Lord. They want to see him stoned, calling Him a blasphemer, especially after offering proof of His Divinity during a winter visit to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Dedication. After this, Jesus went to Perea, where he was summoned to Bethany where he raised Lazarus from the dead, a miracle which wins Him such renown among certain Pharisees that they decided finally to end His life. Jesus took refuge at Ephrem returning six days before Passover to Bethany, triumphantly entering Jerusalem. That evening, He leaves Jerusalem and returns Monday. He spent time with Gentiles in the Temple, and on Wednesday left for the Mount of Olives. Here he foretold to the apostles the events of the next several days, including His impending death. He returned to Jerusalem on Thursday, to share the Last Supper with His apostles. He was subsequently arrested and tried. He was crucified at Calvary on Friday, outside the gates of Jerusalem. He was buried the same day, and arose three days later, on Easter Sunday. All of this is done by our Lord for forgiveness of our sins, and for life everlasting with Him. God so loved us, that He sent His only begotten Son to die for us, so that our sins maybe forgiven.

El Domingo de Ramos, celebramos la primera alegría de la temporada mientras celebramos la entrada triunfante de Nuestro Señor en Jerusalén, donde fue recibido por multitudes que lo adoraban y depositaban hojas de palma frente a él. También marca el inicio de la Semana Santa, con la mayor tragedia y pena del año. El regreso triunfantel de Jesús a Jerusalén es solo una parte de la historia. A estas alturas, muchos de los judíos están llenos de odio por nuestro Señor. Quieren verlo apedreado, llamándolo blasfemo, especialmente después de ofrecer una prueba de Su Divinidad durante una visita de invierno a Jerusalén para la Fiesta de la Dedicación. Después de esto, Jesús fue a Perea, donde fue convocado a Betania, donde levanto a Lázaro de los muertos, un milagro que le ganó tanto renombre entre los fariseos que decidieron finalmente terminar con su vida.
