Baptisms: Arrangements must be made by parents through the Rectory Office to schedule baptisms and arrange for Pre-Baptism classes. All parents expecting to baptize their first child are to attend Pre-Baptism classes.

Weddings: Arrangements should be made with a priest through the Rectory Office at least six months prior to the desired date. All couples must attend Pre-Cana classes which are normally scheduled in March.

У неділю 3-го квітня в 12:30 дня в Астродомі

відбудеться традиційне парафіяльне Великоднє

Свячене. Також у цей день ми святкуватимемо 25-ту

річницю дияконських свячень Архидиякона Катедри

Єфрема Смолило. Будуть виступати наші діти.

Традиційно на стіл будуть подаватися Великодні страви.

Квитки на цей обід можна замовити в парафіяльній

канцелярії від понеділка по п'ятницю в звичайні робочі

години, починаючи від понеділка 14-го березня.

Останній день продажу квитків - четвер 31-го березня.

Квитки будуть продаватися в вестибюлі Собору в Квітну

неділю - 19-го і 20-го квітня, коли буде продаж пасок і

печива.

Вартість квитків - $20 для дорослих і $8 для дітей від 6-

ти до 14-ти років. Діти до 5-ти років - безкоштовно, але

мусять мати квиток.

сьогодні, 20-го березня.

ДУХОВНЕ ЗНАЧЕННЯ КВІТНОЇ НЕДІЛІ Божу місію на землі Господь наш Ісус Христос завершив двома величними актами, якими є воскресення Лазаря і тріюмфальний в'їзд до Єрусалима. Ці дві події, свідками яких було багато людей, переконливо свідчили про Христове месіянське післанництво та Його божественність. Тріюмф тих двох світлих подій відчинив також браму до останнього акту драми Христового життя — Його мук і смерти. Жидівський народ хотів бачити свого Месію в силі і славі. Тож Ісус Христос воскресенням Лазаря і своїм тріюмфальним в'їздом до Єрусалима довів свою силу і славу. Прилюдно показав, що Він не тільки пан живої й мертвої природи, але й пан людських сердець. Такого тріюмфального походу Єрусалим уже давно не бачив. Це підкреслює святий євангелист Матей: "І коли Він увійшов у Єрусалим, заметушилося усе місто, питаючи: "Хто це такий?" Народ же казав: "Це пророк, Ісус із Назарету в Галилеї" (21, 10-11). Христова слава тривала коротко, бо за ним, наче тінь, уже йшла зрада Юди, зрада народу, ішла тінь осуду жидівською старшиною, тінь мук, хресної дороги і розп'яття. Ті самі, що сьогодні вигукують: "Осанна", — за кілька днів кричатимуть: "Розпни". Квітна неділя показує нам нестійкість людської слави та марність земного щастя. Радість і смуток на землі — це дві нерозлучні сестри. Тож, коли хочемо колись тріюмфувати з Христом у небі, мусимо спочатку тут, на землі, прожити з Ним страсний тиждень і Голготу. The Ukrainian National Women's League of America (91 yrs.

of humanitarian work) Branch # 8 will collect donations at the

9:30 AM & 11:00 AM Divine Liturgies today, Sunday, March

20th, 2016, with partial proceeds going to aid Ukrainian soldiers

in need of medical care . Thank you for your support.

PARISH EASTER DINNER

Our St. Josaphat Parish Easter Dinner will take place

on Sunday, April 3rd after the 10:30 AM Divine

Liturgy. At the dinner we will be honoring Archdeacon

Jeffrey on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of his ordination

to the Diaconate. Traditional Easter food and a hot meal will be

served. There will be entertainment including a performance

by our children.

You may purchase tickets at the rectory office Monday through

Friday during regular business hours.

The last day to purchase tickets is Thursday, March 31st.

Tickets will be sold at the Palm Sunday Bake Sale on March

19th and 20th.

Tickets are $20. each for adults and $8. for students, age 6

through 14. Children age 5 and under (accompanied by an

adult) are free but must have a complimentary ticket.

NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR

You MUST acquire and pay for your ticket by Thursday,

March 31st.

PYROHY SALES HOURS FOR EASTER

Hours for Easter: Pyrohy Volunteers will pinch

pyrohy on Tuesday, March 22nd. We will sell pyrohy

on Wednesday, March 23rd

from 7AM until we are

sold out.

Pyrohy Sales will then close for their Easter break and will re-

open on Thursday, April 7, 2016.

Our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated pyrohy workers who donate

their time and efforts each week to our Cathedral pyrohy project. RECTORY HOURS

this bulletin. ENCOUNTERING DIVINE MERCY ON THOMAS SUNDAY

As part of the continuing celebration of the Jubilee Year of

Mercy, the Apostleship of Prayer invites you to a special service

in honor of the Mercy of Our Lord, which will be held at Saint

Josaphat Cathedral on Thomas Sunday, April 3, 2016, at

3:00pm. Bishop Bohdan Danylo will lead members of our local

clergy in prayer, including a Moleben to the Merciful Lord,

and will be the principal homilist in English. Fr. Mykhaylo

Drozdovskyy, pastor of Pokrova Ukrainian Greco-Catholic

Church in Parma, will also deliver a reflection in Ukrainian. The prayer service will feature the veneration of the Icon of

Our Lord's Divine Mercy, and the Icon of the Theotokos,

Mother of Mercy, the recitation of the Chaplet of Divine

Mercy, and the Mystery of Holy Anointing. The Sacrament of

Reconciliation (Confession) will also be made available. Our

prayer will be followed by refreshments in the Men's Club

Room, where you will be able to enjoy a beautiful display of

icons written by the hand of Ukrainian artist, Mr. Andrij

Maday. Together, let us celebrate the Jubilee Year of Mercy,

and open our hearts to the unfathomable mercy of Our Lord! APOSTLESHIP OF PRAYER

The Apostleship of Prayer will hold their meeting on Thursday,

April 14th at 6:30 PM in the Astrodome meeting room. We

welcome any parishioners who wish to join this active group.

TALENT NEEDED FOR THE FESTIVAL

We are looking for any members of our parish that

have a talent (face painting, magic tricks, singing,

etc) that would be interested in entertaining people or

children at our church's festival on August 27th. If you, or you

parishioners. When our parishioners present a discount

RECITATION OF THE ROSARY

The Apostleship of Prayer leads the Recitation the

Rosary every Sunday before Divine Liturgies; also,

after the Divine Liturgy on the 1st & 3rd Saturday

morning of the month for various intentions, i.e for sick

parishioners, vocations, peace in Ukraine and the

World. We ask parishioners to participate.

Palm Sunday

Today’s feast celebrates the arrival of Jesus at His final

destination: Jerusalem. As He entered the city, He was

met by the people bearing palm branches in their hands

and acclaiming Him as the King of Israel, who comes in

the name of the Lord.

As we celebrate Palm Sunday, we are summoned to

behold our King. We are called to behold and acclaim

Jesus as our King not only as the one who comes to us

riding on a colt on this particular day. But as the one

who comes to us in power and glory unceasingly, in every

Divine Liturgy, as we receive the Holy Eucharist; in

every Sacrament that we receive; in every act of love and

mercy that we perform; in every moment that we become

aware of His presence and recognize Him as our King

and God.

Dear Parishioners, if you do not have donation envelopes assigned

to you, please contact the rectory office or Fr. Bohdan. Your

donations are tax deductible and a upon request, the parish office

can provide a year end report for tax purposes if you use assigned

envelopes for your donations.

HOMEBOUND PARISHIONERS

If you have a relative or know of any parishioner who is

homebound and cannot come to church, please let us

know so that our priests can visit them with the

sacraments and provide them with spiritual care. If you

know of any elderly parishioner who would like to attend the

Divine Liturgy but does not have a car or a ride, please let us

know. We ask that you help us to provide for the spiritual needs of

our homebound parishioners by contacting the parish office of our

MEMORIAL CONCERT

There will be a Memorial Concert to honor Sir Eugene Sadowsky,

K.S.G. on the 103rd anniversary of his birth. The Concert will take

place on Saturday, May 7th, 5PM until midnight at St. Josaphat

Astrodome. (choir performance, solo performance of Boris

Sadowsky compositions, banquet, followed by two live bands)
