In the Fifth Grade Classroom

The Fifth Grade teachers will work with stu-

dents and their families to support student

success. Some of our key connections with

families will be:

Weekly Newsletters, Class Tag,

phone calls, conferences, and Tues-

day Folders

Student-Led Parent Conferences will

be held twice a year in October and

in March.

Teachers will inform parents of re-

sources and strategies they can use

at home to assist student success.

At Home EKES parents joined staff to develop ideas about how families can support student suc-cess.

Keep open communication with teachers through Tuesday folders, conferences, ClassTag and phone calls. Assist students in studying and reading at home using parent letters in math and reading logs for reading. Ensure that students arrive to school on time and are present each day for the greatest learning possible.

Fifth Grade Students

Students joined staff and parents to develop

ideas about how they can succeed in school.

Students shared the following ideas:

Students will participate in their learning each day and ask questions when they lack understanding.

Students will complete 20 minutes of reading each night and study for unit tests using materials given.

Students will follow the BIG 3 of being respectful, responsible and safe in order to receive their best education.
