Note. Read the parameters of the tachograph to be replaced, and note all connections to the tachograph,
paying particular attention to Vpulse, dual axle configuration, D8 serial data, Revs input etc.
The below vehicle settings are the default vehicle settings which should be applied. However, individual
vehicle specifications may vary.
Default setting for D6 outputs that can be switched between ISO & Open collector (o/c) is ISO.
The vehicle must be calibrated in an approved manner after fitting.
The road speed limiter must be calibrated after a replacement tachograph is fitted.
The illumination of the KRM series tachograph can be changed between White & Green, please select the
colour best suited to the vehicle illumination.

1. Fit the encrypted sender to the gearbox. 2. Connect the 6m cable to the sender and ensure the sender is sealed to the gearbox.
3. Feed the cable up through the chassis of the vehicle following the other cables on route to the cab.
4. Ensure that it is appropriately cable tied to avoid loose loops that may catch..

5. Open the bonnet of the cab and remove the screws from the metal cover on the right hand side, then feed the cable through.
6. Remove the 2 screws from the plastic cover and feed the cable into the cab through one of the three rubber wire protectors.
7. Feed the cable behind the dashboard to exit behind the cabs centre console. Remove one of the two tidy trays and fit the radio cage for the Digital Tachograph.
8. Behind the centre console you will find a harness which you can take the power, light-ing, ignition and ground signals from. See Appendix for signal references to the wire colours.

13. The D6 Speedo output factor should be set to 7450 to ensure the odometer on the cluster matches the odometer on the tachograph.
10. The speed signal wire can be found either behind the centre console (red wire with silver spots) or at the Rate Converter under the fuse board behind the passenger dash (blue wire with red stripe).
11. Click the passenger dash back carefully after ensuring all connections are sealed properly. 12. Fully press the tachograph into the radio cage ensuring a solid and tight fit, then calibrate ac-cordingly.
9. Connect pin D6 from the tachograph to the speed signal wire on the vehicle.
