    This assignment is to be carried out individually.

    Learning Outcomes:

    On completion of this assignment you should be able to demonstrate the following LEARNING

    This assignment requires you to design and optimize a TRANSDUCER for ANGULAR

    DISPLACEMENT measurement, with the following indicatives:

    a. Select and explain the required Components of the system.

    b. Implementation of the system design with innovative elements.

    c. Discussion of the above system.

    d. Testing of the developed system.

    e. Result Analysis.

    LO3: Explain the functioning of mechanical sensors, including sensors for LEVEL, flow,

    temperature, position, strain, pressure and motion.

    Design and develop an ANGULAR DISPLACEMENT

    measurement using an appropriate SENSOR

    The aim of this assessment is to design an angular displacement measurement system. The

    motivation for doing this is the fact that displacement measurement has become an integral part of

    many control system especially in the Process Industries.

    Here the angular displacement must be displayed in degrees. The LabVIEW Controller should be

    used for handling all the required computations. A suitable sensor is used for sensing the angular

    displacements. The system will measure the displacement; and it displays it. The measured

    displacement is compared with the set point value stored by the user and if the measured value goes

    beyond the Preset value then LED will turn on. Use a relay to switch on the LED.

    Refer to the following GUIDELINES required for designing the given system:

    1. The assignment is to be developed with the correct chosen sensor which upon

    measurement will allow LabVIEW for data storage.

    2.

    The measured value should be displayed in LabVIEW.

    3. Turn on the LED via an actuator when the measured value exceeds the set point

    value.

    NOTE:

    Research is to be done on SUSTAINABILTY and the best chosen components for the

    development of the angular displacement system.
