Most businesses copy and paste their About section from the company website into their Linkedin Company profile. Instead, write a description that directly speaks to the people who are visiting your company page, letting them know who you are and how you can benefit them.
Now fill out the Specialties section by adding your keywords. This will make your company page a easier to find.

Feature a product, service or event.
Showcase pages replace Products and Services. Showcase pages are really subpages of your company page. They are not for every product or service you offer. Showcase pages help you distribute information to a more targeted audience. It’s a good idea to tailor showcase pages to specific customer segments.
You can create up to ten showcase pages. may want to use showcase pages for an annual event or a key product.
You may even want to create a showcase page for customer service.

Linkedin now offers a simple CRM tool.
Linkedin has added a Notes and Reminders, simple CRM tool that is located in the Connections section. You can now make notes and set reminders directly from a profile or from your inbox.
• NOTES is a new feature that is a private section under your Connections tab. Premium account holders may write unlimited notes about anyone in their network. Even if you already use Salesforce, Notes can be handy as a way to keep track of conversations, prospect interests, etc.
• REMINDERS are in the “Keep in Touch” Section. They allow you to set alerts for calls & follow up activities, even recurring ones. They can be set for any connection in your network.

Segmenting contacts.
Tags are found in the Contacts section of Linked in. You can use tags to categorize partners, friends, association members, customers, etc.
You can create up to 200 tags. You can then use them to slice and dice your LinkedIn network for all kinds of communication purposes.
One good practice is to tag by interests or title. Then, once or twice a month, send them an article. Linkedin Pulse is a great place to find shareable content.

UPDATES KEEP YOUR NAME IN FRONT OF PROSPECTS
Frequent updates build interest and engagement.
It’s estimated that only 13% of Linkedin companies update regularly. But updating regularly is a great way to keep your name top of mind. Remember: the more targeted your updates are to a specific audience, the easier it will be to find shareable content. Linkedin Pulse is a fast, easy way to locate it.
Use the LinkedIn Company Page Targeted Updates feature to make certain updates are visible only to segments of your follower audience. You can target by employee or non-employee, company size, industry, function, seniority, or geography.
Post at least once, but ideally a few times a week, with content that will bring people to your company page. This will also keep your page relevant.

Promote an update to extend your prospecting.
Occasionally pay to promote an update as a way to engage people who are not yet following your Company page. Your most recent update will show up in your feed and in the About Us area of your Company page.
Promoted updates are measurable. Your LinkedIn page notifications will show you how many people like, share, and comment on your updates. You can sort your notifications to see who’s engaging with your page. Sort by comments to quickly reply and develop relationships with your audience.
