Trinity United Methodist Church

WE’RE GLAD YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO WORSHIP WITH US TODAY. Our hope is that the Holy Spirit speaks to you during our time together. The mission of The United Methodist Church is to form disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We invite you to check out the opportunities we have for children, students, and adults of all ages and stages of life.

Communion is celebrated every Sunday at the 8:30 a.m. service and on the first Sunday of the month at the 10:30 a.m. service. If you desire to be served in your pew, please let an usher know.

Family Lounge is available in the back of the Sanc-tuary with audio feed of the service and a family rest-room.

Fellowship is a time for us to come together as the body of Christ. All are invited to join us for coffee and conversation in the Fellowship Building across the courtyard following both services.

Nursery care is available on Sunday mornings from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. for infants and toddlers. The Nursery is located in the Fellowship Building across the court-yard.

Special Assistance is available for those who need hearing devices or have accessibility needs. Please see an usher.

The Pentecost season, which continues until mid-summer when we begin Ordinary Time, com-memorates the creation and empowering of the Spirit-led church. Acts 2:1-21 describes the day of Pente-cost in which the early church community experienced the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The events of Pentecost fulfill Jesus’ promises to be present in the life and mission of the universal church.

Altar Flowers - Given by Doris Page in memory of Sally Page.

Greeters - Billy & Noelle Sutherland (8:30)

Fellowship - Billy & Noelle Sutherland (8:30); Church & Society (10:30)

Next Week - Experience the Holy at our monthly Celtic Evensong and Communion Service at 6 p.m. in the Chapel. With both quiet moments of reflection and contemplative music, experience God in a new way. God is waiting. All are welcome.

Music Notes - The Prelude is part of the Suite du premier

ton by Louis-Nicholas Clérambault, a musician at the Parisian church of St. Sulpice and one of France’s finest Baroque organists. The Anthem is based on the well-known African-American spiri-tual (see #402 in our Hymnal). The Offertory comprises the theme and first two variations from The Harmonious Blacksmith by George Frideric Handel, published in 1720. The Postlude con-cludes The Harmonious Blacksmith; its colorful title (coined 60 years after Handel’s death) refers to William Lintern, an amateur musician and apprentice blacksmith who was fond of whistling Handel’s theme as he worked in his smithy.
