It was a fabulous Friday when my class and I all
went to Taunton Museum to learn all about the
Anglo-Saxons and their history. My partner was
Ethan and we both sang fun songs and played lots
of games whlist we were on the bus. We were
driving past a lot of houses and then I saw a sign
saying Taunton Museum. I knew we were nearly
there because I could see a tremendously big
house through the trees. When we were inside the
Museum, we were told to go downstairs and to
meet a lady called Chloe who told us some facts
about the Anglo-Saxons. She also told us a story
about King Alfred and we all got to take
part. Sam and Reuben were the kings, I was an
old granny and everyone else were villagers. After
this, Class 4 and some children from Class 3
went upstairs to learn more from the artefacts in
the museum and we had a task to complete. We
then had lunch together. After this, my class and I
had a chance to make an Anglo-Saxon aestel,
write in clay using the Anglo-Saxon alphabet and
visit the museum one last time. Finally, we got
back on the bus and went back to school. Overall,
this was a good educational trip to the museum.

On Tuesday the school had a visitor from The Blue Cross. The Blue Cross is a charity that looks after rescued animals and tries to re-home them. Margaret told us that they look after all animals from tiny mice up to big hors-es! She spoke to all the children about how to look after pets and how to keep safe around unfamiliar dogs. This visit about animal wel-fare supports all our work on Animal Magic! Mrs Nicholls

On Wednesday 23rd November, Class 5 was lucky enough to spend the day at Taunton School producing a 'play in a day'. The children worked incredibly hard learning songs, dance moves and lines to put on a fabulous performance based on A Midsummer Night's Dream. All the children threw themselves into the activ-ities, with some of the boys getting to
experience authentic Shake-speare by fulfilling the roles of princesses and fairies. Thank you to all the parents that came to watch the final performance and well done to all of the children involved - I was a very proud teacher!

On Wednesday Class 2 went to Kingsmead School to take part in The Year 2 Sports Fes-tival. The children joined in with lots of sporting activi-ties including - ball con-trol, balancing, parachute games and target practice. It was a great, fun, active morn-ing. Thank you to Ms Williams (Mylo's mummy) for coming with us. Mrs Nicholls
