Arrange your pieces on a fl at surface or a design wall to create a

pleasing look.

Join medium light and dark A prints in pairs (diagram 3).

Join the pairs together to create a star unit. Make 269 more star

units (diagram 4).

Arrange 15 star units across and 18 star units down. Begin join-

ing stars into rows with the B shape (diagram 5).

Continue joining rows (diagrams 6 and 7).

Th e outside edge of my antique top was pieced with B (the dia-

mond shape) which was then cut in half to square the outside edge.

Th is is one of many antique quilt tops in my collection

yet to be quilted (see detail page 43).
