Hakomatic E 430

A squeegee and suitable brushes orpads are required for wet cleaning ofhard floorings. The rotating brushes scrub the floorthoroughly, removing the dirt bymeans of suds, thus cleaning the floor. The soiled water is drawn in during thesame cycle by means of the squee-gee. This way the floor can be step-ped on immediately afterwards, it isdry and clean.

Useful advice for perfect work

Prior to wet cleaning it is necessary toclean the floor. This way, not only thecleaning efficiency is improved, butwear of the brush will be substantiallyreduced at the same time. If floors areparticularly dirty or it wax has to beremoved (basic cleaning). The floorshould be treated twice. During thefirst cycle, the floor is scrubbed withthe cleaning agent selected accordingto the degree of dirt encountered, the

Allow the cleaning agent to act on thefloor for approx. 5 or 10 minutes, com-plying with the manufacturer's instruc-tions, then scrub the floor once againwhile the squeegee is lowered.

Important note : Comply with the in-structions for correct dosage of deter-gent. Correct dosage will help you tosave money and to take care of theenvironment. If there is much foam, this will affectthe performance of the machine.

Actually it indicates that there is exces-sive dosage or improper suitability ofdetergent for the existing kind of dirt.Detergent particles contained in thesoiled water and not being used willcause formation of foam.Instructions for dosage are given onthe detergent tank. Please take thosemanufacturers recommendation as afirst basis. Tests made by yourself inpractice then soon will make you findthe ideal Hako detergent and the per-fect dosage applicable to it.

Mount the new sealing strips byinverse sequence of operation. Tightening of the knurled nuts (justslightly, by hand) has to be donestarting from the center towards out-side (sealing strips with slots tofrontside, and plain one to the rear)

Note: If worn, the rear sealing stripcan be turned at the frontside edge.

Note: The supporting strip mayModify the sealing strip effect, hard-soft, and thus be adapted to differentfloor conditions.

Before starting to work, fill-in freshwater and detergent as describedBelow:

Open the tank lid and tilt it to theRear.Fill the fresh water tank with water(max 50 C) as required by the workto be done, and add detergent asspecified by the manufacturerFilling capacity: max 22 litres

Note: Use only detergent suitable forautomatic machines (low foaming) ifnot, the suction turbine Can damageby formation of excessive quantities offoam.

We recommend using our agentsfor cleaning and care, which areadapted to the Hakomatic. Thoseproducts comply with the provisionsof the Detergents Act (WRMGapplicable in Germany). When the Hakomatic E 430 is beingpushed, squeegee and brush driveplate must be lifted.

The Hakomatic E 430 has soiledwater tank and a fresh water (lye)tank. The filling capacity is 22 litres;.Please do not fill beyond that mark;water temperature must not exceed50C .Soiled water is fed via the suc-tion hose into the soiled water tank.

Note: Do not collect any externalWater.

Note: When work is finished both thesoiled and the fresh water tanks onprinciple must be drained and rinsedin order to preclude formation of resi-dues.

Caution! For disposal of soiled waterand lye, the legal provisions have tobe compiled with. Check the infeed fil-ter in the tank regularly and clean it ifrequired.

When work is finished:

Stop the machine and lift the brushhead.Lift the squeegee.Drain and rinse the soiled watertank (refer to section "Soiled addfresh water tanks" )Clean the sealing strips at thesqueegee.Check the strainer upstream of theintake opening in the fresh watertank; clean if required, as otherwisethe suction efficiency will be affec-ted.

4.6 Electrical equipment

E Fuse for vacuum motor

F Over load protectorbrush motor

The electrical equipment of the Hako-matic E 430 uses a mains voltage of230V/50 Hz AC.Easy access to brush motor andsuction turbine is possible after the up-per part of the unit has been titled toupside.

The suction turbine has been providedwith a fuse (E ) having a rating of T6A.It must be replaced by a fuse of samerating (T stands for Time -lag).Suction turbine require little mainte-nance only; just the carbon brushesmust be checked- renewed, if requi-red- after every200 service hours.

The brush motor is protected by a cur-rent sensitive overload protector ( F )which requires to be manually reset in-case of tripping. When brush motortrips identify the cause and correct itbefore trying to run the machine.

The protector can be reset by pressingthe transparent dome on the electricalbox cover. Please allow approximately30 seconds time before resetting.

Note: If there should be repeatedcases of failure, look for the reason.Any work at the electrical system hasto be carried out by specialized electri-cians only.

Whenever performing work at theelectrical system, disconnect themains supply plug on principle. Whenwork at the electrical system is finis-hed, a safety test,( as per VDE 0701,sections 1and 3, has to be performed).

9.1 Maintenance work

Compliance with our recommenda-tions concerning maintenance workwill give you the certitude alwayshaving a machine at your disposal, which is ready to work and in goodoperating condition. It is better to takeprecautions than to repair damages -and less expensive!

Please contact your local Hako distri-butor; the people there will be glad toperform that work for you. There welltrained personnel and genuine Hakospare parts are at your disposal. Incase of any inquiries or orders forspare parts, please always quote themachine's serial number mentioned onthe nameplate. The nameplate is fixedin the rear side of the machine.

When cleaning or servicing the machi-ne, and when replacing any parts, shutoff the machine and on principle dis-connect the power plug from thepower supply. For reasons of safetyduring cleaningand/or maintenance work in or on thetank, the tank lid - when lifted - mustbe secured so as to prevent accidentalclosing or tilting down. The machinemay be taken into operation only if allguarding devices are fitted and in pro-tective position. As far as possible, cleaning should not be done by hand, but using appropriate tools or equip-ment. Maintenance and repair workmay be carried out only by means ofsuitable tools and by the people trai-ned in the factory. For reasons of safe-ty, only genuine Hako spare parts maybe used.

Note: Before performing the mainte-nance, inspection and/or repair workdescribed below, check all operatingelements and components of themachine for proper operation, andidentify any possible malfunctions. After repair work has been done, themachine may be taken into operationagainst only after a safety test.
