The DECONTACTOR™operation provides ahigh safety to the users.

For example, to releasethe plug of a DXN,simply press the latchand pull the plugsimultaneously (pictures 1 & 2), whichbreaks the circuit. Then,twist anticlockwise andwithdraw the plug(picture 3). This operationis totally safe becausethe circuit is open.

When the plug andsocket-outlet areseparated, active partsare protected against theingress of finger (DXrange = IP2X protectionwith open lid) or fromwires exceeding 1 mmdiameter (DXN range =IP4X protection with openlid), thanks to the socket-outlet safety shutter.

Electrical features• DXN: from 20 to 63 A - 750 V AC (DXN1: 550 V) / DX: from 20 to 200 A - 750 V AC.

• Integral switching devices as defined in clause 2.8 of IEC / EN 60309-1 standard

• Equipped with silver-nickel butt-contacts for added reliability and lifetime

• Socket-outlet safety shutter provides IP4X (DXN) or IP2X (DX) protection with open lid

• Unique keying system allows discrimination between 12 (DX) or 24 (DXN) different power

supplies (voltage, frequency, AC and DC current)

Mechanical features• IP66 and 67 (DXN), IP65 (DX) automatic watertightness as standard

• DXN: casings made of polyamide (IK08 impact resistance)

DX: casings made of aluminium (IK10 impact resistance)

• Ambient temperature: from -40°C to + 60°C

• Spring-assisted terminals unaffected by vibrations and thermal cycling

• Self-opening lid (DXN)

• Self-returning lid (DX) - in option for DXN

Regulatory featuresDXN and DX decontactors can be used in zones 1 and 2 (gas) and zones 21 and 22 (dust).

They comply with:

• The ATEX 94/9/CE and 99/92/CE directives,

• The EN 50014, EN 50018 (explosion proof safety ‘d’) and EN 50019 (increased safety ‘e’)

european harmonised standards, and the EN 50281-1-1 (electrical equipment for use in

flammable dust atmospheres) standard,

• The IEC 60079-0 (electrical equipment for use in flammable gas atmospheres – Section 0:

General rules) and IEC 60079-1 (‘d’ safety) international standards,

• The IEC 60309-1 International standard and EN 60309-1 European standard (plugs and socket-

• The French decree N° 88-1056 dated 14th November 1988 relating to workers’ protection,

• The decrees relating to workers’ protection in Belgium, Spain and Italy.

Such a compatibility exists for plugs up to 32 A.

The DXN1 ‘ed’ (20 A) can be connected both to

DXN1 ‘ed’ socket-outlets / coupler sockets and to

industrial DSN1 (20 A) socket-outlets / coupler

sockets.

Idem for DXN3 ‘ed’ (32 A) and industrial DSN3 (32 A).

Thus, you can move mobile ATEX devices equipped

with a DXN plug in and out of your ATEX zones.EX zone: connect a DXN plug ina DXN socket-outlet.

This product consists of a flat lid and a box, both made of

polyamide for a better temperature resistance. Equipped with

increased safety ‘e’ terminal blocks and cable glands, the whole

set complies with the ATEX 94/9/CE directive.
