Thank you to everyone who donated to Stewart House Day 2015. We raised $952.00 through selling torch keyrings, envelope donations and our Mufti Day. Thank you to the SRC students who helped to sell the torch keyrings. A fantastic effort by everyone. Miss Molloy Charities Coordinator

Randwick Fire Station Incursion On Wednesday 27 May the Randwick Fire Station conducted their “Workers In The Community” incursion for Stage One. The firers talked about whose needs they help meet, what they do in their role, why they do it, what they need (equipment and skills) to perform their role and how people can make their role easier/more enjoyable. Students were able to go inside and sit in the fire truck and were able to spray the fire hose water onto the grass. If you want to know more about the Fire Brigade, they have their “Fire Station Open Day” on Saturday 30 May from 10:00am to 2:00pm so visit http://www.fire.nsw.gov.au/. Other scheduled community worker visits include a doctor on Tuesday 9 June and the Maroubra Police on Thursday 11 June. Mr Svanfelds App Of The Week An app by the Queensland Government Department of Education and Training is “Out & About”. Aimed at “Prep” (our Kindergarten) to Year 2, students can learn 100 sight words that are grouped into ten word sets. Our next meeting is on this Monday, 1 June 2015. We

will be voting on 2 issues involving spending some of

the P & C money we have fundraised. The Principals of

Randwick Boys’ High and Randwick Girls’ High School

will also be coming to speak. This is a great

opportunity to hear what these schools can provide

for your children’s education. The meeting is from

6pm-8pm in the Gallery of Learning (near the front

office). TRAC provides free childcare for children over

the age of 3 during the meeting. Please contact Tanya

today on [email protected] to make a

booking.

If you are not receiving the minutes from the P & C

meetings and would like to, please go to the P & C

website to contact us or email us at

[email protected]

Library Friday will be on again next week. We look

forward to seeing you in the Library after morning

assembly for a coffee.

Our first Car Boot Sale will be on Sunday 21 June

2015. Car spaces are $30 and bookings can be made

through [email protected] The P & C run a

BBQ, cake stall, jumping castle, face painting and hair

colouring on the day. If you are available on the day

for an hour or two, we would love your help. Please

contact Hui Chuen at [email protected] and

let her know what time you would be able to help.

Thanks to those parents who have volunteered to

help out with the preparation and/or help on the day.

There are lots of flyers advertising the car boot sale

near the office if you have some time to drop them in

letterboxes.
