June 27: Blast Off to a Universe of Stories*~ 2:30-3:30 p.m. ~ Summer reading is here! Get ready to blast off into a summer of books, adventures, and fun with special guest magician & storyteller, Gary Shelton. Registration required. June 22: Family Movie*~ 3:00-4:45 p.m. ~ Grades K-5 ~ Astro Boy ~ A scientist builds a robot based on his deceased son. As the robot grows up, he befriends a gang of scavengers who live in a desolate wasteland. This movie is rated PG. Auditorium

June 1, 8, & 15: Tai Chi Easy with Jan ~ Saturday @ 9:30-10:30 a.m. ~ Gain better balance and circulation through this ancient practice for the mind, body, and spirit. The easy-to-duplicate steps allow participants of any ability or age to follow along. Please bring a mat or towel & water. Note: No class will be held June 22 or 29. Auditorium

June 20: The Edge of Space & Beyond*~ 6:00-7:30 p.m. ~ Join us for a brief history of America’s manned space program and what the future holds for humankind’s journey to the stars with NASA Solar System Ambassador Brandon Porter. Auditorium
June 24: Mango’s Universe of Languages*~ 6:00-7:00 p.m. ~ Use your digital device to expand your universe! Pick up a new language through Mango Languages available from NC LIVE. Learn how and take it with you! Conference Room
June 27: The UFO & Me: a Religion Professor Looks at Things in the Sky ~ 7:00-8:00 p.m. ~ Some believe in UFOs as visitors from outer space or possibly other dimensions. Others debunk or even ridicule the whole idea. David Halperin, Professor Emeritus of religious Studies at UNC-CH, does not believe nor does he debunk. Come learn about his ideas of a third option. Tech Tutor*~ Sign up for a one-on-one tech session with a staff member. Ask at the Reference Desk for available days and times.
June 11 & 13: Beginning Internet*~ 10:00-11:30 a.m. ~ This is a 2-day class designed for new computer users who want to be introduced to the mouse and keyboard, Internet searching, email, printing, and the library’s online catalog. No computer skills are required.
June 12: Facebook 101*~ 2:30-4:00 p.m. ~ Learn about the Facebook social networking site: finding friends, liking pages, and security issues. Basic computer skills are required, but an account is not needed.
June 19: iPad Basics*~ 2:30-4:00 p.m. ~ Students will learn to use their Apple iPad: basic functions, apps, and eBooks. No computer skills necessary, but an iPad or iPad Mini (any generation) is required.
June 26: eBay Basics*~ 2:30-4:00 p.m. ~ This class covers the eBay auction site with emphasis on finding items, selling, PayPal, and security issues. Basic computer skills are required, but an eBay account is not needed.
