The Black Caps won the opening Test by 186 runs in four days in Jamaica to take a 1-0 lead in the series but then slumped to a disappointing 10-wicket defeat in the second Test at Queen's Park Oval on Friday, reports CMC.Opting to bat first, New Zealand were 159 for three at tea on the opening day but lost seven wickets for 62 runs in just over an hour in the final ses- sion, to be dismissed for 221. "I thought right through- out the Test, barring that one session ...we were pretty good," McCullum said. "I thought the application and the intensity with which our seamers bowled was out- standing and something we can be really proud of. On another day they could have easily knocked the top off the West Indies batting order."Even when trailing by 239 runs in the first innings after West Indies piled up 460 all out, the Black Caps showed plenty character to battle back from 212 for eight after tea on the penultimate day, to 331 all out at lunch Friday's final day. IANS Sydney, June 22: Sus- pended Indian cricket chief Narayanaswami Srinivasan is expected to be anointed as the new ICC chairman at this week's annual conference in Melbourne which is set to address growing concerns about corruption in the sport. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has con- firmed the 69-year-old indus- trialist will stand as chair- man of the International Cricket Council despite being suspended by India's Supreme Court as the coun- try's cricket chief. Srinivasan — seen as the most powerful man in world cricket — was among 13 people named in a damning report into corrup- tion allegations in the Indian Premier League. The IPL Twenty20 competi- tion has been embroiled in alle- gations of illegal betting and spot-fixing, including against Srinivasan's son-in-law. Despite the scandal, BCCI sec- retary Sanjay Patel confirmed Srinivasan would go to Mel- bourne and was expected to be anointed ICC chairman.“By the month end, India will take a leading role in the ICC. Mr Srinivasan is going,” Patel was quoted by the Sydney Morning Herald as saying. “There is no Supreme Court bar on him. Both of us are going to Melbourne. In the last four months we have settled [the issue] with all the full members of the ICC and convinced them about the new structure and the new financial model of the ICC which would be followed in the coming years.“AFP SPORTS 14 Greater Kashmir SRINAGAR | June 23, 2014, Monday LIVE TELECAST: SONY SIX AND SONY SIX HD AUSTRALIA VS SPAIN 9:30 PM – JUNE 23 ARENA DA BAIXADA NETHERLANDS VS CHILE 9:30 PM – JUNE 23 ARENA CORINTHIANS CROATIA VS MEXICO 01:30 AM – JUNE 24 ARENA PERNAMBUCO CAMEROON VS BRAZIL 01:30 AM – JUNE 24 ESTÁDIO NACIONAL DE BRASILIA ISL signs partnership agreement with EPL Mumbai, June 22: The Indian Super League has entered into a strategic part- nership with the English Premier League, the world's most popular and successful football league, to bring its best practices to India under an exchange programme. The Co-operation Agree- ment between the ISL, co- promoted by IMG-Reliance, the joint venture between IMG and Reliance Industries, Star India with support from All India Football Federa- tion, and the English Premier League will allow the ISL to leverage the league's exper- tise in nurturing and grow- ing a high quality football competition. The Indian Super League, set to kick off in September, will receive strategic sup- port, advice and assistance from the Premier League to further the development of the league and its clubs, a release said. The EPL will also assist in establishing club gover- nance, shaping the brand, fan engagement, defining anti- corruption and anti-doping policies for the ISL, as well as joint promotion of the ISL and Premier League football in India. Richard Scudamore, Chief Executive of the Premier League, said, "Having earli- er this year signed a mutual co-operation agreement with the Asian Football Confed- eration, we are very pleased to also enter into this part- nership with ISL. This will see both organisations work together and share knowl- edge in several key areas including player develop- ment, refereeing, marketing and promotion. IMG-Reliance chairperson Nita Ambani said, "Partner- ing with Premier League brings credence to ISL and to our vision of populariz- ing the sport in India. I am confident the tie-up will immensely help in nurtur- ing and establishing ISL with good governance and best practices. The alliance also presents a great opportu- nity of partnership and cross promotions between the ISL League Partners and Premier League Clubs." "There will be no sign- ings until after the World Cup. We are in no rush and we do not need to do a lot of business," Ancelotti was quoted as saying by Spanish daily Marca before flying for his summer vacation, reports EFE. Marca said that Real Madrid are also eying players like Paul Pogba, Arturo Vidal, Toni Kroos and Marco Verratti as the club wants to "form a dream frontline" beside Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale. Having to pay a 75 mil- lion euros release clause to Liverpool, Real Madrid have to "make sure they will get the full money's worth if they sign" the 27-year-old Suarez. Despite going under the knife for a knee surgery three weeks ago, Suarez managed to score a brace in the 2014 World Cup securing Uruguay's win over England on Thurs- day. Suarez is living his best moments as he was the Pre- mier League's top scorer in the 2013-14 season with a tally of 31 goals and shared the European Golden Shoe Award with goal machine Cristiano Ronaldo. Srinivasan to get nod as ICC chief

McCullum blames one bad session for loss to WIPort of Spain, June 22: New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum believes one bad session cost his side the second Test against West Indies, and says they need to stick to their game plan if they are to win the third Test and the series.

The Black Caps won the opening Test by 186 runs in four days in Jamaica to take a 1-0 lead in the series but then slumped to a disappointing 10-wicket defeat in the second Test at Queen's Park Oval on Friday, reports CMC.Opting to bat first, New Zealand were 159 for three at tea on the opening day but lost seven wickets for 62 runs in just over an hour in the final ses-sion, to be dismissed for 221.

"I thought right through-out the Test, barring that one session ...we were pretty good," McCullum said.

"I thought the application and the intensity with which our seamers bowled was out-standing and something we can be really proud of. Sydney, June 22: Sus-pended Indian cricket chief Narayanaswami Srinivasan is expected to be anointed as the new ICC chairman at this week's annual conference in Melbourne which is set to address growing concerns about corruption in the sport.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has con-firmed the 69-year-old indus-trialist will stand as chair-man of the International Cricket Council despite being suspended by India's Supreme Court as the coun-try's cricket chief. Srinivasan — seen as the most powerful man in world cricket — was among 13 people named in a damning report into corrup-tion allegations in the Indian Premier League.

The IPL Twenty20 competi-

tion has been embroiled in alle-gations of illegal betting and spot-fixing, including against Srinivasan's son-in-law. Despite the scandal, BCCI sec-retary Sanjay Patel confirmed Srinivasan would go to Mel-bourne and was expected to be anointed ICC chairman.“By the month end, India will take a leading role in the ICC. Mr Srinivasan is going,” Patel was quoted by the Sydney Morning Herald as saying.

“There is no Supreme Court bar on him. Both of us are going to Melbourne. In the last four months we have settled [the issue] with all the full members of the ICC and convinced them about the new structure and the new financial model of the ICC which would be followed in the coming years.“AFP

‘Real Madrid could sign Suarez after World Cup’

Madrid, June 22: Real Madrid's Italian coach Carlo Ance-lotti says the

signing of Uru-guayan striker Luis Suarez and

two other players

will be

discussed after the 2014 World Cup.

"There will be no sign-ings until after the World Cup.

Having to pay a 75 mil-lion euros release clause

to Liverpool, Real Madrid have to "make sure they will get the full money's worth if they sign" the 27-year-old Suarez.

Despite going under the knife for a knee surgery three weeks ago, Suarez managed to score a brace in the 2014 World Cup securing Uruguay's win

over England on Thurs-day.

Suarez is living his best moments as he was the Pre-mier League's top scorer in the 2013-14 season with a tally of 31 goals and shared the European Golden Shoe Award with goal machine Cristiano Ronaldo.
