    StartUp Procedure

    NOTE:

Do not crank the engine for more than 30 seconds. Allow the starter to cool for two

minutes before cranking again. Turbocharger damage can result if the engine rpm is not

kept low until the oil gauge display verifies that the oil pressure is sufficient.

    WHY ADAPT CONTAMINATION CONTROL ?

    Fluid Contamination: Hydraulic Systems #1Enemy

    - Hydraulic System Experts say that 75 to 85% of all

component failures is due to Particle Contamination

and not a weakness in the system components.

    AS A RESULT

    CONTAMINATED FLUID SYSTEMS

    - Shorten component and fluid life

    - Reduce Productivity

    - Can lead to Catastrophic Failure,

    Costly Repairs and Downtime

    TODAYS FLUID SYSTEMS ARE MORE

    SENSITIVE TO CONTAMINATION:

    - Hydraulics

    - Transmission / Final drives- Fuel System

    Loader System Selection

    Pass Match

    Job set-up

    Loading Face

Loader operator spots truck. Angle should be 45. Position for

fastest cycle times. Loader cycle time should not exceed 35 seconds

(dump, travel empty, dig, travel loaded)

    Note:

Enter pile straight-on, with bottom of bucket

    parallel to floor

Operate in first gear, full throttle

Limit travel to 1 1/2 tire revolutions

    Keep spillage to a minimum

Keep floor clean and smooth Keep time in face below 12 seconds

Maintain proper bucket and lift kickout adjustment

    Keep tight V loading pattern

Maintain Good Eye to Eye Contact

    Loading

position the loader to dump the load in the center ofthe hauler body, if the hauler body is two bucket widths

or more in length, dump from the front to the rear

Operator controls dumping impact into bed (dump

    easy)

Place material vs. dumping material in truck bodies

Different loading tools have different effects on truckbodies

Pad body floors with smaller material before placing in

    oversize material

For good operator vision and loader stability, carry the

loaded bucket low, approximately 40cm (15in) above the

ground DO NOT contact truck side rails

DO NOT push material in bodies

    Cleaning the Work Area

After dumping, clean up any spillage along the haul road as you return to the load

area.A clean floor is very important for tire life

Unnecessary cleaning is just as costly as no cleaning.

    Find the balance.

    DOZING

-do not doze with the bucket in the tilt

forward position or bucket damage can

    result

-keep the bucket bottom parallel to the

    ground when dozing

-Utilize wait time to clean and level the work area

-Maintain traction by avoiding excessive down pressure on the

    bucket

-Be certain that the bucket used is appropriate for the work

performed. Exceeding the machine limits will reduce the service

    life of the machine.
