Rotary Park (#2)
In 1965, when the Durham Rotary Club celebrated its 50th Anniversary, it made a major gift to Durham of a Rotary Park at the intersections of Morgan, Mangum, and east Chapel Hill Streets. In the shape of a Rotary Wheel and centered with a fountain, the garden is maintained by the City, with many varieties of flowers, surrounded by dogwood and Bradford pear trees.

Big Idea: "100 Acts of Service Above Self“
By our club members, partners, and others in and outside of the local community
Could be in one Community Service area, e. g., "Read to a Child" or more varied ones
Use to reinforce and promote RI's brand (“Service Above Self”) and our Club's brand
(Connect, Collaborate, Serve)
Use as club new membership recruiting tool: "Come and Test Drive Rotary" with projects
throughout the year
Create new Rotary club in Durham
Culminate with a "100 Acts of Service Gala" to celebrate our Centennial
Recognition for outstanding Acts of Service and the individuals responsible for
them
Highlight local and international acts and individuals
Consider making this an on-going annual program and event

International Focus, which would involve our focus areas and projects planned and the connections we are building with Rotary Clubs around the world
