Since their founding in 1993, The Australian Voices have championed an astonishing flourish of Australian choral music, having commissioned hundreds of new works. Much of the music they perform captures vividly the vibrant sound, colour and energy of the Australian continent and its people.

The Australian Voices A Cappella Songbook includes many of the group’s favourite pieces and demonstrates the range of music that The Australian Voices performs, including:

� The Facebook Song: a satire on the world of social media

� Kalkadunga Yurdu: a tale, in traditional Kalkadoon language, in which the choir imitates the sound of the didgeridoo

� Waltzing Matilda: an arrangement which encapsulates the complete range of emotions of the tragic Australian tale – at once spirited and pervaded with sadness

With music arranged and composed by the group’s director Gordon Hamilton, as well as by some of Australia’s most exciting young composers, this is a collection which captures the essence of The Australian Voices – one of the most remarkable young choirs in the world.
