Now there is the lower-cost option of doing-it-yourself. Easy-Up-Awning’s, Home Accents - Division of RTS Companies Inc. are the first standard-sized awnings that enhance exterior doors and windows while cooling the home naturally and reduc-ing air conditioning costs up to 30 per cent. Q “What should I know about awning fabrics?”A The fabric used for Easy-Up-Awning is marine-grade. It has been selected for its durability in all types of weather and for ease of cleaning. Your awning may be cleaned with a mild soap solution (not detergent) at least every two years. Treating your awning with Armor-All type product will help maintain its appearance over the years. Any scrubbing will not degrade the fabric (as is the case with treated acrylic fabric). The decorative braid is 100 per cent cotton (the same used on custom awnings) and may also be cleaned with mild soap solution. Keep the underside of your awning clean by brushing with a household broom.

Q “What is the warranty for Easy-Up-Awning?”A The fabric has a pro-rated 3-year warranty against manufacturer’s defects in the product or sewing of the awning fabric. In colder regions, awnings should be removed during winter to avoid snow build-up on the awnings (they are easy to remove by loosening the head rod clamps). The frame hardware has a full 3-year warranty, with the same components used as much more expensive custom awnings. The hardware should have a long life, and be used over the years with newer replacement awning covers if you desire a change in color.

Q “How easy is an awning to install?”A One person can handle the complete installation in most cases. Two people for the roller awning installation. Most installations require a minimum number of tools (screwdriver, drill, pliers and tape measure). All parts are included except lead or concrete shields.

Q “How will my awning fit on the window?”A Easy-Up-Awnings are designed to extend beyond the width of most windows. In addition, your installed awning will not be rigid structure and is designed to accommo-date upward wind movement.
