Caesar Hope, BarberCaesar Hope was a celebrated figure in the city who, as their barber, gained a unique perspective on the most notable gentlemen of the time. Stop in to his shop and meet this iconic figure as he shares his incredible life’s story with you. Location: Hope’s Barber Shop

To Everything there is a Season: Pamunkey TraditionsSee how the Pamunkey practiced their skills at gathering nature’s abundance and discover this rich and vibrant people. During the 18th century, Native societies such as the Pamunkey lived in well-established communities on the York and Pamunkey rivers. Masters of the environment, the Pamunkey people provided labor, produce and wares to Virginia settlements. Location: Governor’s Palace Grounds

The Spirit of the Raleigh TavernThis holiday season, experience the hustle and bustle of a busy Christmastide at the Raleigh Tavern. Keeping traditions both ancient and modern, 18th-century Virginians gather as the holidays sweep the tavern into a fren-zy of work and play. Location: Raleigh Tavern

Times: Every half hour, beginning at 1:00 p.m.; last program begins at 3:30 p.m.

Entertainments at the TheatreThe Chownings and friends present plays and entertainments for all ages! Stop in to see one of our plays per-formed by our ridiculous ensemble. Location: Playbooth Theatre

Times: 1:30 p.m. – 1:50 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. – 3:20 p.m.

Order in the CourtParticipate in a local court session where lives, liberties, and property are contested. Take on the role of justice, attorney, litigant, petitioner, or defendant. Experience how the rights of Virginians were maintained in open court. Location: Courthouse

An Audience with a Founder of the NationWhat questions would you ask our nation’s founders? What would you like to know about their lives and poli-tics? What were their aspirations for this new nation? One of our nation’s founders will discuss their hopes for this new nation and their place in its creation. Location: Governor’s Palace Stage

Time: 1:30 p.m.- 2:15 p.m. Raleigh Tavern Holiday ExplorationHolidays are a time for people to travel and visit with friends and relations. Discuss the holiday season from different perspectives of those who worked in or stayed at one of the colonial period’s most popular social spots. Location: Raleigh Tavern

Time: 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Capitol ExplorationVisit the seat of government in Virginia as it transitions from colony to commonwealth. Between 9:00 and 3:45, enjoy a 25-minute guided experience. Between 4 and 5, explore at your own pace and ask as many questions as you like. Location: Capitol

Palace ExplorationExperience the grandeur of royal government in Virginia just before its collapse. Explore the residence of the royal governor at your own pace, and directed by your own interests. Wander the Palace and feel free to ask any questions. Location: Governor’s Palace
