The French International School (EFI) in Casablanca is aware that it is at an early age that things are played out. It offers its students a strong ambition and an innovative and perfectly adapted educational concept.

Our educational project benefits from the experience accumulated by the International Bilingual School of Paris (EIB Paris), which I have been running for over thirty years.

A NEW EDUCATIVE MODEL AT THE HEART OF CASABLANCA

Fruit of the alliance between reference actors of the educative sector, the French International School of Casablanca (EFI Casablanca) is a scholar establishment of excellence, from Kindergarten to High School, with an exclusive pedagogical model and a trilingual curriculum (French, English, Arabic).

The EFI is a French school located in the heart of «Casa Anfa» which houses Casablanca Finance City (CFC).

It issues the teaching of the French National Education Program and is officially recognized in the framework of cooperation between the French and Moroccan Governments.

A FIRMLY INTERNATIONAL FRENCH SCHOOL

Since the EFI aims at leading all its students on the path of multilingualism, especially trilingualism (French, Arabic and English), our students will have the ability to express themselves and to write in these three languages. FOCUS ON ARAB TEACHING

The teaching of Arabic language and culture is a fundamental pillar of our linguistic and cultural discovery program. This teaching also includes the Arabic language, history, geography and institutions of Morocco.

From first year of Elementary school: all children, regardless of their nationality, are taught Arabic for 3 hours per week.

From second year to fifth year of Elementary school: possibility of a reinforced curriculum of 5 hours / week.

THE PASSERELLE DEVICEAt the primary level, non-francophone students can be gradually introduced through intensive French learning, at least 75% of the school time.

Directly inspired by the EIB Monceau Immersion Classes for Educational Education, this program has proved itself for many years and allows students to quickly enter a class of the normal curriculum, with an individualized and adapted follow-up Needs of each, for a school of excellence resolutely open to all nationalities.

The Kindergarten is divided into Small Section, Medium Section and Large Section. At the EFI, our students learn to grow, interact with others, and are encouraged to express themselves through different modes of communication. From the small section onwards, almost daily teaching of English is provided by native speaker teachers who have graduated from their home country.

In light classes with all the necessary facilities (grouping spaces, space for evolution, resting space, etc.), learning is often accomplished through play or workshops, giving priority to nursery rhymes because music promotes memorization languages.

On this basis, the EFI has designed a time organization that respects the physiological rhythms of children and allows:

To cover all basic learning in French

To reserve a necessary time for the reinforced learning of English and Arabic

To consider the physiological needs of the student

KINDERGARDEN AT THE EFIFrom 3 to 6 years, there is an essential objective: to become autonomous and to acquire knowledge and skills, through the acquisition of a rich oral language, organized and understandable by the other.

The primary school curriculum is organized around a common core that is divided into five areas:

Languages: to think and communicate

Learning methods and tools

Training of the person and the citizen

Natural and technical systems

Representations of the world and human activity

While following the general curriculum, EFI teachers follow each student, adapt to his / her needs and allow him / her to progress better by offering content that supports and stimulates learning: innovative teaching methods and an individualized teaching approach. To meet the needs of students with difficulties in learning or progressing in school, the EFI implements several mechanisms: personalized help, transition groups for teaching English and tutoring

PRIMARY AT EFI These are the classes of basic learning. The objective of these classes is to acquire a solid foundation in all subjects.

AFTER THE PRIMARY

Given the specific nature of its pedagogical project based on an intensive practice of foreign languages and the prospect of preparing a French patent and baccalaureate with an international option, the EFI chose a progressive pedagogical approach.

This is accompanied by a process of admission under the control of a commission which assesses the knowledge of the French language and the general aptitudes of the candidates.

From the beginning of 2017, the school will open all kindergarten and elementary classes. It will then gradually open the classes of the secondary school and the secondary school:

For kindergarten students, classes are divided into 8 half-days:

3 full days: monday, tuesday, thursday

2 mornings wednesdays and fridays,

starting from the first year of Elementary School, the lessons are divided into 9 half-days:

4 full days: monday, tuesday, thursday, friday

1 morning: wednesday

ORGANIZATION OF THE WEEK

The general organization of the days provides for a start of classes at 8:30 and an end between 16:00 and 16:30 depending on the levels. This rhythm is subject to slight adaptations according to several elements:

The day (ex: the classes end at 12:30 on Wednesday))

Level (ex: nursery in kindergarten)

The arabic courses (3 or 5 hours from the CE1)

Educational support schemes during school time (ex: personalized assistance)

At the end of the day, students can practice cultural or sports activities at or outside school.

ORGANIZATION OF THE DAYWith an area of 12,500 m2 in the heart of Casa

Anfa, the EFI campus houses three buildings with a contemporary architectural signature, with separate spaces for kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school and high school, as well as scientific, cultural and sportive equipment.

It will eventually welcome nearly 2,000 pupils with 5 classes per level, from the nursery to the High School diploma.

EFI pupils wear a dress code, reinforcing our identity, feeling of belonging to the EFI community and guaranteeing equality.

To integrate both the curriculum requirements and those related to the language curriculum (English and Arabic), the EFI relied on the hourly organization model developed by EIB Paris.

LIFE AT THE EFIThe progressive and differentiated pedagogy of the EFI is based on a rigorous organization in a site that perfectly meets the needs of the students.

WEDNESDAY PROGRAMVaried cultural and sporting activities (arts, dance, theater, music, ...) organized on Wednesday afternoons.

HOLIDAY PROGRAMSummer workshops that encourage children to express themselves easily and enrich their vocabulary. Courses in English or in French, facilitated by experienced teachers, are held every morning. The afternoon is devoted to artistic activities or outings that will awaken the curiosity of the children while forging their personalities

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBFrom kindergarten, a nursery is offered as well as manual activities and body expression from 16:00 to 18:00.

For students aged 6 and over, a study time (homework help) is also organized.

ENGLISH SESSIONSEnglish time program: English workshops for children from 3 to 10 years old, Wednesday afternoons and Saturdays, for a playful learning adapted to the age and level of the children (beginner to advanced).

BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOLEvery day, a daycare is provided between 07:30 and 08:25.

From 4:30 pm to 6 pm and Wednesday afternoons, our students are offered a daycare and many cultural, artistic and sports activities, some of which are offered in English, which contributes to their development and open-mindedness.
