Mescal is also known as mescal a well produced distilled alcohol beverage made in Mexico from the maguey plant. This plant grows in many different parts of Mexico.

The Spaniards started experimenting with the maguey plants and try to make distillable freshmen drink and the result produce was mescal.

The mescal is still now till date made from the maguey plant. The plant is called pina, the same plant which was available 200years ago.

This drink is similar like tequila but not popular as it. The product is export to Japan and US and yet many other regions from Mexico.

The alcohol is free from substance like Mescaline and Psychedelic.

Mescal is handcrafted by small scale producers; there are villages that produce different types of mezcal, using the methods that have been passed through generation and generation using the same old technique.

The procedure might look simple but can only be done by the expertise. Harvesting the plants which are of forty kg, extracting the pina by chopping the leaves or roots of the plants.

Following with the crushing of the pina with a grinder wheel that is turned by the help of a horse. Later left to ferment in large barrels that are added with water.
