Our Curriculum

The Early Years Learning Framework

Our curriculum is The Early Years Learning Framework (the guiding Document for all prior to school services). It is based on a set of principles and practices that guide our programming to the development of 5 key outcomes for children

The EYLF Philosophy which underpins our service is:

Becoming, Being, Belonging - where we encourage each child to reach their full potential There are 5 principles that guide all aspects of our program:

1. Secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships 2. Partnerships 3. High expectations and equity 4. Respect for diversity 5. Ongoing learning and reflective practice

There are 8 guiding practices:

Holistic approaches

Responsiveness to children

Learning through play

Intentional teaching

Learning environments

Cultural competence

Continuity of learning and transitions

Assessment for learning

There are 5 outcomes that are used to cover the complex nature of learning and development of children:

1. Children have a strong sense of identity 2. Children are connected with and contribute to their world 3. Children have a strong sense of wellbeing 4. Children are confident and involved learners 5. Children are effective communicators

Development of these key components offers the very best start for your child at Bimbi Preschool.
