Primopatternsingle-componentlight-cureduniversal
modelingresinisavailableinasyringeablemodelinggel
andamodelingpaste.Asamodelinggel,itisapplied
directlyfromthesyringe,usuallytobuildupcopings
andimplantabutments;asamodelingpaste,itoffers
aclay-likeconsistencyandcanbeapplied,formed,or
adjustedwithfingersorhandinstrument.Thematerial
burnsoutcleanlyandcompletelyforcastingorpressing,
canbescannedwitheitheralaserorprobescanner,
andworkswellforzirconiacopymillingsystems.
Primopatternisusedatroomtemperature,which
reducestheriskofdistortionbecausenoheatingis
involvedaswithwaxandthereisnomixingofmaterials
(i.e.,powderandliquidofPMMAmodelingresins).It
hasalongworkingtimeofmorethan20minutesand
ashortcuringtimeoflessthan5minutes.Itdoesnot
containanyMMAorperoxideandhasnotasteorsmell.
Ifneeded,itcanbeusedinconjunctionwithconven-
tionalwaxesorlight-curedwax(e.g.,Metacon).
Followingarestepsforcreatinganimplantbar.
Inthiscase,sixNobelDirectimplantswereplacedin
anidealpositionduetoasuccessfulbackwardplan-
ningwiththeNobelguideimplantnavigationsystem
(Fig. A).
01 Block-outthescrewchanneloftheimplant
postwithwax.
02 Build-uptheimplantcopingswiththesyringe-
ablePrimopatterngel(Figs. B, C).

03 Oncethecopingisbuilt-up,light-curethematerial
andadjustifnecessary(Fig. D). 04 Preparetheremainingfivecopingsinthesame

rialpolymerizestowardsthelight,thecopingsfitwithout
grippingtheabutments(Fig. E).
05 CreatethebarsegmentsusingPrimopattern
pastewherelargeramountsofmaterialneedto
beapplied.Note:Themodelingpastealsoissuitablefor
useonpontics,transferorinsertionguides,implantjigs,
verificationindexes,etc.
06 Useasmallamountofpastetocreatethebarby
hand(Fig. F)andthenplaceonthealveolarridge
(Fig. G).Note:Thematerialhasaconsistencysimilartosoft
putty,isnotsticky,andcanbeeasilyshapedbyhand.
07 Adaptthepastetothealreadymadecopings
(Fig. H).
08 Build-uptheposteriorbarsegmentsinthesame
wayastheanteriorbar(Fig. I).Thecaseisready
tobelight-curedtogetherasasingleunit.
09 Afterlight-curing,thebarcanbeeasilyremoved
tocheckforfitandmilled(Fig. J).
10 Whenthemillingiscomplete,makeanycorrec-
tionsbyapplyingthegel(Fig. K)andthenre-light-
curingwithahand-heldlablight(Fig. L).
Thefinishedbarfitsperfectlyandcanbeeithersprued
andcast,pressed,scanned,orcopymilled(Fig. M). labFig.JThebarcanbemilledimmediatelyfollowingcuring.
