They were nominated by Diane Egan and Beth Kwiatowski of Park School for their dedication to providing dental exams to students in need. Elise Blinn, a former Century Jr. High student, donated several of her published books to District 135 libraries at the June meeting. Her book, titled “Colours of Friendship”, is the second book Blinn has published. Students from High Point, Liberty and Meadow Ridge were recognized as student technology ambassadors. These students were given the task of preparing a presentation to provide their future junior high teachers with professional development on iPad apps and features to use in the classroom. We are very proud of these brave students for helping their teachers learn! Mrs. Katlin Davis and Mrs. Mary Joy Omahen’s classes from High Point School placed 5th and 11th respectively in the ICTM Math Contest. The contest showcases outstanding mathematical achievements. Congratulations! Dan Werfelman, center, was recognized for his 22 years of service to District 135. Werfelman has saved D135 millions of dollars by completed many projects in- house and appropriately utilizing resources to complete otherwise costly building improvements. Werfelman also received a 100% clean Life/Safety audit this year. Congratulations on your retirement, Dan! School Board ends year with celebrations and recognitions

Student Recognitions

The Orland Park Lions Club was recognized with a Community Spirit Award at the June 12 meeting. They were nominated by Diane Egan and Beth Kwiatowski of Park School for their dedication to providing dental exams to students in need.
