“Pick of the Live” Raffle One of the most popular parts of the Gala Auction is the “Pick of the Live”
Raffle. For $100 you can purchase your lucky ticket and a chance to win.
There are only 100 of these tickets, so once they are gone, they’re gone.
There will be 100 tickets sold for $100 per ticket. Any auction attendee is
eligible to purchase a ticket either before or at the auction until 100 tickets
are sold. Any person volunteering to work at the auction on Auction Night is
also eligible to purchase a ticket.
If all 100 tickets are sold, the lucky ticket holder may choose any live auction
item except item numbers 24 and 34. This includes class projects.
If less than the 100 tickets are sold, the lucky ticket holder may choose any
non-class live auction item.
Must be present to win.
Dessert Dash
Once again this year, each table will have the opportunity to bid on one of our
wonderful desserts! The table with the highest bid gets to “DASH” first for
their choice! Each table will select a captain to do the actual dashing, so the
more you bid, the better your chance is of getting the dessert you want!
Listen for the auctioneer to call your table number and get ready to run!

Auction Rules General Rules
When you register, you will receive your bid number. Use this bid number
for both the Silent and Live auctions. At the end of the evening, please leave
your bid number at the Bookkeeping Section. By bidding in the Live or Silent
Auctions, each bidder agrees to these auction rules.
As you register, you may request “Express Checkout” to simplify your
checkout at the end of the evening. Your credit card will be swiped, and will
be charged at the end of the evening with your purchases. Receipts are
available at checkout after the event.
Written or oral bid constitutes a legal contract to purchase. No exchanges or
refunds will be made unless otherwise specified.
Please pay attention to all conditions, restrictions and expiration dates on
items and services. Unless where noted by donor, services, tickets, items, etc.,
must be used within a year of the auction and take place at a mutually-
agreeable time between the donor and the purchaser.
When you are ready to leave, stop at Check-out to receive your bill for all
purchases made during the auction. If you provided your email in advance,
emailed receipts will be sent the week following the auction.
Payment by the successful bidder may be made at the bank by cash, check,
MC, VISA and American Express card. Payment in full the night of the
auction is mandatory.
Items must be taken home that evening. Large items can be left and
arrangements for pick-up at the school can be made (please see Carolyn
Wiemals or Danielle Burgess that evening before leaving).
The Auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid which is a minimal
fractional advance over the prior bid. The Auction Committee reserves the
right to withdraw or add, at its sole discretion, any auction item(s) prior to
the call for bids. Any necessary changes in traditional auction procedures will
be made based on fairness to all concerned. The deciding factor will be in the
best interests of the auction and its purpose of raising funds for the school.
10
The Auction Committee of St. Anthony School attempts to correctly describe
and catalog all items, but property is sold “as is”. The Auction Committee and
St. Anthony School neither warrants nor represents and shall in no event be
responsible for the correctness of the description, authenticity, authorship,
provenance or condition of the property. NO statement contained in this
catalog or made orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed such a
warranty, representation or assumption of liability. No statement made in this
catalog or made orally at the auction or elsewhere shall be deemed such a
warranty for tax purposes or fair market value.
Silent Auction Rules
Please write you bid number on the sheet associated with each item. If an
entry is not legible, the next legible entry will be accepted.
The amount listed in the first box of each bid sheet is the minimum bid for
that item.
Guaranteed purchase bids may be made prior to the time of that item’s
closing. A guaranteed bid will end all bidding on that item and guarantee sale
to the guaranteed bidder.
When the closing time for a section is called, all bidders must step back from
the tables and no further bids may be made. Bid sheets are NOT to be
removed from the tables except by the Table Closers or Captains.
In the event of a conflict over the successful bid, parties involved must notify
the Development Director as soon as possible to resolve the issue.
Please note: All class projects, sports memorabilia, and other items selected by the
Auction Steering Committee are not subject to the guaranteed bid.
Live Auction Rules
Your bid number will be recognized by the auctioneer. Please hold it so it can
be easily seen.
Successful bidders for the Live Auction must sign a receipt. At that time, they
should verify that the bid number, amount of purchase and item description
are correct.
All Live Auction items may be picked up at the conclusion of the Live
Auction.
11
Tax on Charitable Contributions
The Internal Revenue Service has granted St. Anthony School charitable
organization status. We are, thus, a 501(c) 3 charitable organization and your
payments are tax deductible as a charitable contribution, only to the extent
provided by law. Generally you may deduct as a charitable contribution the
amount you pay above the fair market value of the item. Please see your tax
professional.
Matching Funds
Please let the Development Office know and we can help facilitate getting
those matching funds.
