INSIDE THIS NEWSLETTER... Fall 2014 A Note from the President by Kristie Kozara Hello Beechview Swim and Tennis Club members. My name is Kristie Kozara. For the last 4 years I have served as Secretary on the Board. I have learned a great deal about Beechview and I am doing my best to help improve our club for us and our chil- dren to enjoy for many years into the future. I am the newly ap- pointed president of our club and I look forward to serving on the board again. One more season has passed and I hope all of you have enjoyed it as much as my family and I have. The Board is already looking towards next year and I would like to ask for your suggestions and improvement ideas. We have spent quite a bit of time over the last few years improving our club, and I would like to con- tinue our improvement efforts. The majority of the improve- ments have come from member suggestions. We have open positions on the board in swim, tennis, member- ship, pool and grounds, secretary and social. Good luck to those of you who have volunteered for the open positions, I look for- ward to working with the new board members and all of the club members this year. I would like to say thank you to board members that are leaving us this season for all of their hard work. If you are interested in serving our Club as a Board Member, please email [email protected] to have your name added to the ballot. The voting will take place in October at our Annual Meeting. We will be voting on a few proposed by- laws amendments at the Annual meeting. Social News by DarlienPausch & Nancy Baker

Your social committee is closing this season with another great year of activities. The sun was bright and the heat index might have been low in temperature, but fun was had at every age at Beechview. Our atten-dance numbers have been way up thanks to our members bringing their friends and showing them how much fun we have at Beechview. As they say, the more the merrier. It was perfect weather as none of our events had to be rescheduled. Thank you to our friends at the weather station. HEHE. Your check is in the mail. Our goal this year was to keep the cost of our activities down while still maintaining the fun that you expect. Many dishes were passed while friendships were made. Here is the low down on how the season went down in record for 2014. Kids day-brought out the kid in each of us with lots of crazy screaming, kids enjoying the day with inflat-ables food, and plenty of games.

Teen night-was a carryover from Kids Day. The teens had a blast just hanging, talking, staying up late and meeting new friends. Ladies night-We had some awe-some catering from Ideal Bites and plenty of pampering for our over worked bodies.

Adult night-Enzo’s Catering did a great job presenting us with an awesome menu to fit our Luau theme. There was plenty of toe tapping heart thumping and get-ting down to the music played by Byron in Motion.

Our 3 TGIF’s were well attended TGIF’s were a real hit with Opening Day-free to friends and family, Bingo night and Card board Boat races, which, wow, there was plenty of entries and great imaginations was all well attended.

I want to thank my silent part-ner Nancy as she was a great force in making sure you were all informed in all upcoming events through emails and sign ups. With 3 TGIF’s, KIDS DAY, TEEN NIGHT, LADIES NIGHT & ADULT NIGHT under her belt, Nancy will carry the torch just beautifully with her new partner whomever it might be this next year. She has great ideas and has true passion in everything she puts her hands on. I am sure next year will only get bet-ter in every way. Good luck my friend.

I have had a great time putting together all these great activi-ties. It is time for me to sit at the table amongst my new friends I have met on this jour-ney and socialize instead of run-ning around like a crazy woman making sure everyone has plenty of drinks, food and that the en-tertainment is still moving for-ward. Thank you. I will see you pool side in 2015.

Tennis News by Juli Schwalm & Chip Hill

Youth Tennis: We had another great year of tennis at Beech-view! Thanks to all the players and parents for their participa-tion and hard work. It was really a great year and we had a lot of great ideas from parents as well as a lot of volunteers for the Fri-day matches and additional events. A special thank you to our coaches, Coach Chris, Coach Morgan, Coach Christian and Coach Tyler – they all did a won-derful job and we’re already thinking of next year.

First and foremost - Beechview finished in FIRST PLACE this year for the Gold Cup tourna-ment, a big accomplishment that we haven’t had since 2007, so congrats to all players who par-ticipated and represented BVSC!! The winners of the Beechview in house tournament are as follows: Singles A Team: Winner – Scott Butts & Finalist – Drew Hinkley Singles B Team: Winner – Derek Schmidt & Finalist – Kevin Miller Singles C Team: Winner – Alex Radomski & Finalist – Robert Smith Singles C Apprentice Winner – Jonah Alsaffer & Finalist – Cassie Poisson Congratulations to all the tourna-ment players! We look forward to another fun filled year where we can get the

kids, parents, and other adults, on the court. We are planning to leave the nets up until the weather starts to get a little colder and then we’ll be looking for some volun-teers to help put everything away for the winter. This will be a Beechview cleanup day so if you weren’t able to do the cleanup at the beginning of the season, this will be a quick way to pick up a $50 credit to your account and the additional hands are always a big help to Chip and Juli. The more hands, the faster we all get done!! Tennis has at least one opening on the Board of Directors for next year. If you’re interested, please contact Kristie Kozara at [email protected] to request that your name be put on the ballot for the Oct. meeting.

Happy Fall Greetings!!! It is hard for me to admit that another summer has come and gone! We had another great season at Beechview. The weather wasn't always cooperative, but it made me appreciate each and every sunny day even more. There were many new faces at our club this year and many new families smiling and enjoy-ing all that BVSC has to of-fer.

There are still some families that have not picked up their Bond Certificates from the front desk. We will be mailing them out in the next few weeks. If you did not receive (or use) your free guest pass this year, never fear- it will be honored next season as well. A big thank you to our members that have updated their profiles in Esoft, adding photos and using the software system for pur-chases and registering for classes, events and clinics. The more we are utilizing this sys-tem the more efficient we be-come as a club.

Also, please remember that bonds are available for sale, and the off-season is a great time for purchase as it allows a new bond to be purchased without dues required until March 1. If you know anyone looking for more information, or you have any questions please contact member-

[email protected]

m. All the best to you in the upcom-ing months. I will be counting the days until Summer fun 2015!
