The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a Guest Lecture on

Kinematic Analysis of Mechanisms for the Second year students.

Mr. R. Rathishkumar, Lead Engineer, ELGI Equipment Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore

was the resource person. Students gained knowledge on „Introduction and basics

of Mechanism, Mechanism Design and Inversions of Mechanism‟.

CSBS - SKCET CTF CHALLENGE - HACK THE PLANET

The SKCET CYBER SECURITY HUB of the Department of Computer

Science and Business Systems conducted an activity entitled SKCET CTF

CHALLENGE - HACK THE PLANET. It is the first level of Learning -

Hacking for security, „A Safe Planet‟.

17 teams with 39 participants at CTF- A and 15 teams with 46 participants at

CTF- B showcased their competency in capturing the Flag.

The event was organized by Dr. S. Balakrishnan, Head of the Department,

CSBS, facilitated by Mrs. G. Ignisha Rajathi and Mr. J. Daniel Francis

Selvaraj of CSBS and conducted by Adithyan and Balaji.S (III IT - A),

Kabilan S (II CSE C(TCS)), Indrajith K (II CSE - A), Gowtham G and

Aravindha Hariharan M (II IT - A). The solutions were discussed by Adithyan

of III IT-A.

AICTE FDP ON DEEP LEARNING: DAY 13 - FORENOON SESSION

To strengthen the teaching and research skills in the contemporary and emerging

areas of Deep Learning, the Thirteenth day of the AICTE sponsored two weeks FDP

on “Deep Learning and Computational Intelligence in Bioinformatics”

commenced today.

The Resource Person Dr.B.Surendiran, Assistant Professor, Associate

Dean Academics, NIT Puducherry, Karaikkal. He gave a detailed insight on

"Dimensionality Reduction for Mammogram Analysis" and also provided

an overview of approaches in Dimensionality Reduction such as feature

selection and feature extraction.





IT-ACTIVITY SATURDAY : KAHOOT

As part of the Saturday activity, Department of Information Technology

organized a game-based learning platform “Kahoots”, used as educational

technology in institutions. Its multiple-choice quizzes allow user generation and can

be accessed via a web browser or the Kahoot app. Kahoot can be used to review

student‟s knowledge, for formative assessment or as a break from traditional

classroom activities. All players connect using a generated game PIN shown on the

common screen, and use a device to answer questions created by a teacher, business

leader, or other person. Points then show up on the leader board after each

question.

ECE - MINI PROJECT REVIEW

Students from II ECE enthusiastically presented their innovative ideas during the

Mini project review conducted as a part of Saturday activity.





MCT - PRACTICAL TRAINING ON PLC

A practical training session on PLC was conducted for II Year MCT students by

Mr. P. M. Arun Kumar.





EEE – SATURDAY ACTIVITY-SPEAKATHON

Department of EEE conducted Saturday activities as a part of the initiative to blend

fun and education, which included Speakathon, an event to share the students'

views and thoughts within 5 minutes. Students came out with various ideas and

thoughts seizing the opportunity to speak up and influence. The topics include

„Need for nature, Technology and its impact on our lives, Significance of

time management and Recent technologies in engineering field‟.





CSE –SEMINAR ON OVERSEAS HIGHER EDUCATION

As a part of Saturday Activity, the Department of Computer Science and

Engineering conducted an insightful talk on "Opportunities for Overseas

Higher Education" deliberated by resource person from IDP Education.

Tips on writing the "Statement of Purpose"

Various Assessments and Merit Scholarships





MECH - INTERNSHIP PRESENTATION

Third year students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering shared

their experience on Internship from various Manufacturing Industries

across Tamil Nadu. Tutors and faculty members from the department were also

present during the presentation.





CSE – IO CLUB ACTIVITY

As a part of IO Club activity, Department of CSE handled a knowledge empowering

Session on "Webpage development and Logo Designing" by IO Club

Members, A.P.Venkatesan and A.R.Ashwin. In this session, students had an

interaction with teams and cleared their clarifications on Webpage development.





MCT – APTITUDE TRAINING

Aptitude and Soft Skills Training was conducted for III Year MCT A students by

Ms. S. Nithya Priya.





S&H – EXTENDED HOUR COACHING

The Extended Coaching Class was conducted for the First year students at C3

block on various subjects. The faculty members provided constructive feedback to

help the students.

Mr. Jamal Mustafa, 2014 Batch BE Mechanical Engineering Alumnus,

Founder and Director of Astro Lee Engineering and Management

Consultants addressed the III year students of the Mechanical Engineering

Department.

He highlighted the importance of Industry 4.0 for Mechanical Engineering

Graduates. He also insisted the need for programming skills for all Mechanical

Engineering graduates in order to have a bright future.





MCT –TECHNICAL PRESENTATION

Technical Presentation was conducted for II Year MCT students by Ms. J. Indira

Priyadharshini and Ms. K. Ananthi. Students presented various technical topics with

the aid of visual animation.





AICTE FDP ON DEEP LEARNING: DAY 12 - AN SESSION

In the Afternoon session, Dr.B.Surendiran gave a detailed introduction on “Tools

for research like Mendely, Desktop Searched and Weka" followed by

Hands-on session. Thus, the thirteenth day of the FDP oriented the participants for a

technology-rich future by adopting effective strategies that infuse lessons with

appropriate technologies.





EEE –CONFERENCE PRESENTATION BY STUDENTS

Arundhathy T S and Gayathri V of III EEE A presented a paper on

„Performance of Inductor coupled Bidirectional DC DC Converter with

reduced ripple‟ at National Conference-Cutting Edge Technologies in Power

Conversion and Industrial Drives (PCID 2019), Bannari Amman Institute of

Technology.





MCT –GROUP DISCUSSION

Mock Group Discussion sessions were conducted for III Year MCT A students by

Mr. S. Panneerselvam and Dr. K. Sivakumar.

Department of EEE conducted an event entitled The War of Words as a part of

the Saturday activity. 5 teams participated to shoot their points and thoughts on the

topics „Reason behind breakdown in Automobile Industry‟ and
