USVA – VILLAGE OUTREACH VISIT

SKCET has been shortlisted as one among the „Top 15‟ Institutions to compete for

AICTE-Utkrisht Sansthan Vishwakarma Award (USVA). The theme for the

competition being „How to enhance the income of Villages through intervention of

Technology/Management practice(s), the USVA working committee visited

Perur Chettipalayam village visited to oversee the arrangements for expert visit

scheduled next week. Interaction with self help group and farmers were also part of

the preparedness visit.




PLACEMENT-ASPIRE COE ASSESSMENT

As a part of Aspire CoE, Ms.Jaya Ethiraj and Mr. Antony Rufus, Talent Nurturing

Team, AspireSystem, had conducted a review meeting with Aspire offered

students. An oral assessment for the students to assess the confidence level on core

Java was conducted. Valuable suggestions were given by Aspire team to enhance

their knowledge base in Java programming.




R&D-DST SEED PROJECT PROGRESS

Dr.M.Sujaritha, Professor, CSE and the Principal Investigator of the ongoing DST

project attended the 'Review meeting cum Group Monitoring workshop on

Science & Technology for Women-2019' at Technology Bhavan, New Delhi

presented the progress report at DST office last month. The review committee

appreciated the scientific interventions and Entrepreneurial exercises conducted at

the Campus and acknowledged the efforts taken by the team for the introduction of

the course “Processed Food Entrepreneur- Millet products” with the NSDC-FICSI

approved curriculum and released the second installment of the funds for the

smooth conduct of the project. The project commenced on 01.04.2018 where-in a

trainer and field assistant has been appointed. A Manufacturing unit has been

constructed for training and millet food production.

Project title: Developing women Entrepreneurs in the field of Millet Food Production

to ensure Nutritional Security

success. National University of Singapore (NUS) spotlights the Tech strength of

our CSE students to showcase their coding talents at Hack & Roll 2020, a 24-hour

Hackathon event to be held at Cinnamon- Tembusu Hall, NUS Campus, Singapore

during 18 and 19 of Jan 2020.

Research and Incubation Cell (RIC) of SKCET has designed a project titled "Dual

Rotor Wind Turbine System" with the objective of harvesting more wind energy

with lower wind speeds designed by a team of Third year EEE students.

CIVIL - STUDENT ACCOLADES

A team of Final year students of Department of Civil Engineering has been selected

for the final round (one among 16 best entries throughout India) of the National

award competition organised by INSDAG, Ministry of Steel and Government of

India, Kolkata. This is the second consecutive year that our SKCET Civil team has

been selected for the final round. The theme of the competition is „Steel Intensive

Innovative Food Grain Storage‟ with a total cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.
