and First prize in Tamilnadu region of AICTE- Utkrisht Sansthan

Vishwakarma Award (USVA). Our Respected Chairperson Madam and

CSBS-TCS EXPERT ASSESMENT ON IPR COURSE

B.Tech- Computer Science and Business Systems(CSBS) is the unique

Next-Gen Engineering programme of SKCET in collaboration with Tata

Consultancy Services(TCS). The launch and the meticulous conduct of this

program has gained wide recognition from TCS officials during their frequent

assessment visits.

One such assessment was done for the subject 'Introduction to Innovation,

Intellectual Property Management and Entrepreneurship' by Dr. (Ms).Tara

R Prasad, Corporate IP & Engineering Group,TCS and Mr. Subodh Kumar,

Head, IP Filing and Response Services,TCS Hyderabad. The expert team

interacted with the students and reviewed the learning outcomes interms of

innovations and patents which were presented and shared their plaudit

comments.





CSBS-TCS EXPERT ASSESMENT ON IPR COURSE: GLIMPSES

The session was organised by Dr. S. Balakrishnan, HOD-CSBS and facilitated

by Mr. J. Daniel Francis Selvaraj, CSBS along with the subject handling

faculty members Dr. Vijayalakshmi Menon, Professor-SOM and Mr. Arun

Kurien Riji – AP-Mech.





MECH - AUTODESK FUSION 360 ACADEMY

Dr. P. AshokaVarthanan, Head of the Department, Mechanical Engineering

attended the Project Expo at Autodesk Fusion 360 academy at Hotel

Radission Blue, Bengaluru to understand the recent developments in the

Autodesk software. Projects were showcased by competent Industries in the

emerging areas of Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing. Mr. Kannan

prominent alumnus of 2018 batch Mechanical Engineering department,

currently working as research associate in IIT, Madras exhibited his project in

the field of generative manufacturing.





SOM – PROJECT REVIEW

Project review - I was conducted for the II year students of School of

Management. Dr.P.Thamaraiselvi, HoD along with the project coordinators,

Dr.K.B.Sridevi and Mr.Bakiyaraj K reviewed the project status and gave their

MECH- HANDS-ON TRAINING IN IC ENGINE AND GEAR BOX

Second year students from Department of Mechanical Engineering underwent

two days Hands- on-Training on IC Engine and Gear Box at Karivardhan

Vocational Training Institute. Students gained hands on experience on

dismantling and assembly of Automobile Engines and Gearbox.

innovative paper titled ‘Smart Blind ATM’ at the National Level Technical

Symposium held at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore.

Kabilan S and Vijayaalayan A from Second CSE C (TCS) have been selected

as the ‘Runner Up’ at the Capture The Flag (CTF) with a cash prize of Rs.1200

in KRIYA 2020, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore.

Kiran Subramanian and Indrajith , Naveen Kumar and Nithin from Second

CSE C (TCS) teamed up to win the Third prize in the CTF event.

AICTE – USVA 2019 BEHIND THE SCENES: A RECAP

Survey of villages in PerurChettipalayam was carried out on the following themes:

• Family details with educational Qualification • Occupation and Income • Lifestyle • Extent of purchase • Awareness about various schemes

VILLAGE SURVEY




The SKCET team named “TECHIE SERVICE TEAM” identified the

problems in PerurChettipalayam.


PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION




The team comprising of Principal Madam, Dr.S.Sophia HOD, ECE and

Dr.M.Sujaritha, Professor, CSE showcased an excellent presentation on the theme

"How to increase the income of the Village' on 28/12/2019 at Chennai. The

technology adaptation and the outline of our content as suggested by the expert

members were greatly appreciated by the jury members. As a result, our team was

shortlisted among the ‘Top 15’ at National level and worked vibrantly towards the

expert committee visit scheduled on 7th January 2020.


PRESENTATION




Identify the needs and study the lifestyle of the villagers. Study the available resources and its utilization. Sensitize about the benefits of millets production in improving

health as well as wealth. Motivate and train the millet crop production and its

processing, food production through technical experts. Create and develop entrepreneurship skills including

Professional and Core Skills & IT Orientation Awareness on Food Safety, Hygiene and Sanitation Selection of product and business planning

Millet : 700 kg/acre

Pulses : 640 kg/acre

Vegetables: 8000 kg/acre


CROP PRODUCTION AND MOTIVATION




Several equipment such as Planetary Mixer, Bakery Oven, Cookie Dropping with wire cut machine and Packing machine were purchased for the production unit in the college campus

PRODUCTION AND TRAINING

• Training programme with six weeks duration is conducted in the campus. • The Total number of hours handled in this programme is 240, which consists

of 88 theory hours and 152 practical hours. • The curriculum was approved by FICSI and the assessment and distribution

of certificate will also be performed by FICSI. • Promotion campaigns and exhibitions for the training programme will be

conducted in the targeted regions in order to get the beneficiaries for the proposed training programme.


FOOD PRODUCTION UNIT




A course titled “Processed Food Entrepreneur - Millet Products” has been

started in Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology with

experienced trainer and technical assistants. A web page and Mobile app

have been created for the smooth conduct of the course.
