Located on the picturesque Atlantic coast, with over 7,000 km of rugged coastline, it is perhaps unsurprising that Nova Scotia is known as ‘Canada's Ocean Playground’. This spectacular Maritime province, boasting the longest stretch of coastline in the world with its white sand beaches, estuaries, bays, cliffs and lighthouses, is rich in history and culture.

The award-winning Halifax International Airport is easily accessible from a number of major cities including: Boston (one-hour), New York (two hours) London (six hours) and Frankfurt (seven hours). Other important US cities with direct connection to Halifax include Washington, Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta and Orlando.

Unlike much of the rest of Canada, Nova Scotia sits on the same latitude as the south of France. Visitors find that the climate is unexpectedly comfortable, with warmer summers and milder winters than can be experienced further inland in cities such as Calgary or Toronto. The province is perhaps most famous for its spectacular contrasting seasons, each ideal for enjoying many varied year-round outdoor activities: spring leads into balmy summers, with the unrivalled beauty of autumn preceding our snowy and picturesque winters.

Founded by the legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus, Nicklaus Design is widely regarded as the world’s leading golf design firm, having created almost 400 courses in 36 countries worldwide.

The course, which will be the only internationally recognised golf design brand in the region, has been thoughtfully planned to enhance the stunning environment, as well as to provide some challenging play – above all to ensure enjoyment for players of all levels.

The naturally undulating terrain provides the perfect setting for Forest Lakes Country Club’s 18-hole golf course. As the seasons change and the colours of the surrounding forest evolve from luscious green to glowing gold and orange, golfers will appreciate the spectacular scenery as much as the high quality of our Nicklaus Design golf course.

The Family Entertainment Centre will be the first centre of its kind in Nova Scotia, offering kids and adults a place to have fun together. The award-winning internationally renowned architecture firm, DTJ Design, based in Colorado, USA is assisting with resort planning and architectural design.

DTJ Design create resorts that enhance the quality of the community and the environment working from an integrated approach in which architecture, land planning, landscape architecture, community and social issues are considered in concert with one another as a project progresses from vision to implementation.

Furthermore, the developers have consulted with worldwide experts to create a 'smart' community of sustainable energy and water management practices. The goal is to integrate energy across land use, buildings, transport, water and infrastructure.
