First Fridays are always an exciting time to view the new art and to share in fellowship and getting to know one another as well as meeting folks from our community.
This month we will celebrate the Photography Art of Megan Quillen! There will be snacks and fellowship in the welcome center as you enjoy the art work. Megan will be available to visit with you and perhaps answer any questions and to hear your compliments! Make plans now to join us!

As we gather around the Lord’s Table during the months of July and August, we invite you to bring an offering of school supplies. As you know, students are asked to fill a long list of school supplies to bring with them during their first week of school in the Fall. Below is a list of what many elementary schools are asking students to provide. Consider what you may bring as an offering in these coming weeks. You may place the items in the vestibule as you come to worship on Sunday, July 2 and Sunday, August 6. We will also be available in the church office to receive items during the week. Thank you for prayerfully considering your gift.

A Primer For Giving at FBCA Primer For Giving at FBCA Primer For Giving at FBCA Primer For Giving at FBC FBC has three primary areas to which offerings can be
made: The Ministry Budget, Building Upon Our Heritage in
Missions (BUOH), and the Capital Fund.
The Ministry Budget
The Ministry Budget is the operating budget which includes
budget allocations for three categories:
Ministry, which includes ministry to specific age groups,
music, bus fleet maintenance, Vacation Bible School,
women’s mission groups, and personnel costs of ministerial
staff;
Administrative, which would include items such as office
supplies, postage, worship resources, publicity, office
equipment repair and replacement, and personnel costs of
office and other support staff;
Facilities, which would include utilities, building repair and
maintenance, insurance, janitorial supplies, organ and
piano tuning, and personnel costs of janitorial and
maintenance staff;
Building Upon Our Heritage in Missions (BUOH)
BUOH is the primary source of funds for the comprehensive
local and global missions work of the church. This mission
work involves financial support of partners such as the
Baptist General Association of Virginia, Cooperative Baptist
Fellowship, Micah Ecumenical Ministries, and the
Fredericksburg Area Baptist Network. Other mission work
includes efforts promoted and supported directly by the
church, such as the weekly Community Dinner, ESL classes,
Benevolence, and other special emphases as the church
may develop.
Capital Fund
The Capital Fund is an on-going accumulating fund that
provides funding for accomplishing various capital needs of
the church physical plant. This would include items such as
major repairs (roof replacement, structural and mechanical
repair, etc), and general building improvements and
renovation.
Note: Watering the Roots (WTR) is a five year campaign to
provide funding for specific projects such as a renovated
youth area, a new welcome center, Ferrell Hall and kitchen
upgrades. Gifts to WTR supports these specific projects.

The next time you go to the mall, count how many steps you must take to get from the parking lot to the store you wish to visit. If you have a Fitbit or pedometer, those devices can do it for you. Let’s say that you discovered that it took you 250 steps to get to your destination. Then the next time you are at church, walk that same number of steps away from the church and see where you finish. Would you consider parking at least that distance from the church, leaving closer parking for those folks who really can’t walk far? After all, if walking that distance at the mall is possible, wouldn’t it be just as easy when coming to church? Would you be willing to give it a try?
