Bringing Churches Together, Helping People in Need, Transforming Lives
A Season of Transformation At just over six years old, Love INC of Littleton is poised to
enter into a new season of ministry: a Season of
Transformation. Transformational ministries seek to transform
the lives of people in chronic need through caring relationships
and classes/training opportunities. We have launched two
transformational ministries in 2014. In March, Love INC of
Littleton launched Money and Me, our first transformational
ministry. Money and Me is a 2-part seminar designed to teach
basic budgeting, debt reduction, and money management tech-
niques. In September, we began training for Stepping Forward.
Stepping Forward provides a short-term mentoring relationship
and will pair clients with a supportive mentor to work on goal
setting and other vital life skills. We trust that tonight's program
will inspire you to join us transforming lives in the Name of
Christ!

The essence of the CCU experience is its integration of faith and learning. This distinctive integration of academic achievement, character develop-ment, and spiritual formation prepares CCU graduates to honor God and
impact the world with their lives.
About Colorado Christian University:
Located in Lakewood, Colorado, Colorado Christian University was founded in 1914 and is rapidly becoming a leader in Christian higher education. CCU offers 53 undergraduate degrees and five master’s degrees in business, education, nursing, counseling and other disciplines.
More than 4,500 adult and graduate students attend the university in centers located in Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, Inverness, Loveland, Northglenn and online. Students attending CCU come from 49 states. Approximately one-half of the 1,204 students who are enrolled in classes at Lakewood this fall are from Colorado.
Most recently, the university was awarded an “A” by The American Council of Trustees and Alumni for its core curriculum, an honor accorded to only 21 schools out of 1,070 colleges and universities which were evaluated.

Church Partners are the engine that moves Love INC of Littleton forward
in fulfilling its mission. Partner Churches value the collective power of
the Church mobilized to transform lives and communities in the Name of
Christ. Partner Churches support Love INC of Littleton with prayer, by
encouraging volunteers to serve, by making referrals to the Clearing-
house, by making financial contributions; and through the development
and provision of Gap ministries meeting needs in the community.

Dr. Virgil Gulker—Guest Speaker’s Bio
Dr. Virgil Gulker is the first person named as the Servant Leader-in-
Residence at the Center for Faithful Leadership (CFL) at Hope Col-
lege in Holland, MI. Dr. Gulker is a social entrepreneur whose work
engages church volunteers in the lives of at-risk children and families.
In 1995, he founded KIDS HOPE USA, an innovative mentoring pro-
gram that has trained over 700 churches in the United States and Aus-
tralia to engage their members in one-to-one, “I believe in you” rela-
tionships with 10,000 at-risk elementary children.
Prior to his involvement with KIDS HOPE USA, Dr. Gulker founded
numerous other award-winning programs.
Love INC (1978) mobilized over 300,000 volunteers from 9,000
churches to respond to over 1,000,000 needs in 2008 and is active
in two other countries.
Love Our Kids (1990) provided mentors for inner-city children in
three cities;
Love For Children (1991), funded by the W.K. Kellogg Founda-
tion and World Vision, linked church volunteers with children and
families in the federal Women, Infants and Children and Head
Start programs.
Dr. Gulker has received the Mustard Seed Award for Creativity, was
the recipient of the 2001 Grand Valley State University Distinguished
Alumnus Award, and has written numerous articles and books on vol-
unteerism, including "Help Is Just Around the Corner" and "Helping
You is Helping Me".
Steve VanderVeen, Director of Center for Faithful Leadership at Hope
College states - "“We have been given a great opportunity to work with
Dr. Virgil Gulker, What better role model for students than an authen-
tic servant leader? What better role model for students who want to
make a positive and significant difference than a selfless entrepre-
neur?”
We celebrate having Dr. Virgil Gulker - the founder of Love INC, as
our guest speaker for the 2014 Empty Bowl Event as he shares his
message of A Season of Transformation.
