Auto Advantage Managing Director, Kyle Loades stepped into the NRMA top job on 1 July 2014. Kyle was first elected to NRMA Motoring & Services as the Hunter Director in 2006 and took over the NRMA President role from Wendy Machin after 6 years in the job. At the time of the appointment, Kyle said he was looking forward to continuing to represent the people of the Hunter and Central Coast as President and continuing to grow the organisation from the strong foundations left by Wendy Machin. ‘Wendy's done a fantastic job as President of NRMA. I've worked very closely with Wendy and will continue to do so taking on this role. I’ll be focusing on not only the Hunter-wide issues, but state and national infrastructure," he said.

HYUNDAI GENESIS CROWNED AUSTRALIA’S SAFEST CARThe safest car to be sold in Australia is not a Volvo or even a Mercedes-Benz. It's not even European.

It's a Hyundai.

The Genesis, which promises European luxury levels at a discounted price, has received the highest score issued in the history of Australian crash testing.

The Australian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) has awarded the car a five star safety result, which came on the back of a near-perfect overall crash score of 36.88 points out of 37.

The result edges it ahead of rival luxury cars such as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Volvo S60 which claim crash scores of 36.46 and 36.34 respectively. Hyundai received 15.88 points out of 16 in the traditional front offset collision test, along with full marks for side impact and pole tests.

ANCAP chair Lauchlan McIntosh says the result was helped by the Genesis' long list of standard features which includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, electronic stability control, nine airbags, a pedestrian-friendly pop-up bonnet and more.

"The Genesis is Hyundai's flagship model and as such offers a high level of physical crashworthiness and excellent safety features as standard," he says.

"This is one of the first times we have seen the word 'Standard' listed against almost every safety feature on our checklist. Importantly, autonomous emergency braking is one of these standard features - one that has recently been left off many new models hitting our shores."
