‘AMAL FOR THE DAY OF ‘ARAFA

(It is mustahab to fast on this day (9th

Dhulhijja) for those are able and will

not feel so weak that they are unable to do the a’maal)

1. Ghusl

2. Ziyara of Imam Husayn (pbuh) + salaatuz Ziyara

3. 2 rakats salaa after Salatul ‘Asr acknowledging one’s sins and asking for forgiveness. (Suratul Ikhlas in the first rakat after Al-Fatiha and

Suratul Kaafirun in the second rakat after Al-Fatiha)

4. 4 rakats salaa in sets of two with 50 Suratul Ikhlas in each rakaat after

Al-Fatiha.

There is no god except Allah,

the Only One. He has no

partner

Sovereignty belongs to Him.

He gives life, puts to death,

makes dead and brings to life يت و مييت و حييي حييي و مي

He is Ever-Alive, never non-

existent, in His hand is good ميوت بيده اخلري ال و هو حي

He has power over all things شيء قدير و هو ل


6. Recite each of the following 10x

In the name of Allah, the

Beneficient, the merciful. حيم محن الر الر بسم اI ask for Allah’s forgiveness. There is no god save Him, the

Everliving, that Everlasting,

and I turn repentant unto He.

استغفر اهللا الذي هو احلي آل ال القيوم و اتوب ه اال

اليهO Allah يا اهللا O Beneficient ن يا رمح O Merciful يا رحيم O the Creator of the heavens

and the earth م ت و االرض و يا بديع الس O lord of Majesty and

Benevolence يا ذا اجلالل و االكرام O Ever living.

O Everlasting. يا قيوم يا حيO Compassionate.

O Liberal يا حنان يا منان O Allah! There is no god save

You يا آل انت ال ه اال So be it مني ا


Then recite the following dua’ In the name of Allah, the

Muhammad and on the

children of Muhammad.

صل د و اللهم حمم د ا ل حمم Allah, I beseech You اسئلك الل اين هم O He who is nearer than my

jugular vein

من حبل يا من هو اقرب ايل الوريد

O He who intervenes between

the body and the soul املرء و قلبه يا من حيول بني O He who is in the heveanly

heights, and true horizons

يا من هو ب و باالفق املنظر اال املبني

O He who is Beneficient on the

established ‘Arsh

مح ايا من هو الر لعرش ن ىاستو

O He like Whom there none, س كمثله شيء يا من لand He the Hearing and Seeing ميع البصري هو الس وI ask You to send blessings on

Muhammad and on the

7. Recite the following salawat taught by Prophet (pbuh)



Muhammad and on the


د و حمم صل اللهم د ا ل حمم Glory be to He whose ‘Arsh is in the Heavens مآء عرشه سبحان الذي يف السGlory be to He whose Will

operates in the Earth سبحان الذي يف االرض حكمه Glory be to He who examines

(the dead) in the graves سبحان الذي يف القبور قضآؤه Glory be to He who surfaced a

path over the ocean يله سبحان الذي يف البحر سGlory be to He who has total

control over the fire الذي يف النار سلطانه سبحان Glory be to He who surrounds

Janna with (His) mercy سبحان الذي يف اجلنة رمحته Glory be to He who will do

justice on the Day of

Judgement

دله سبحان الذي يف القي مة Glory be to He who raised the

sky مآء سبحان الذي رفع السGlory be to He who spread the

Earth سبحان الذي بسط االرض Glory be to He from whom

there is no running away unless

(one takes refuge) with Him.

و ال منجا سبحان الذي ال ملجا اليه منه اال


8. Recite this salawat taught by Imam Ja’fer As-Sadiq (pbuh)


Beneficient, the merciful. حيم محن الر الر بسم اO Allah! The most Generous who

gives more than all the givers الل يا اجود من اع هم O the best of those who are

asked ري من سئل و يا خ O the most Merciful of all the

merciful و يا ارحم من اسرتحم O Allah send blessings on

Muhammad and his children in

the earlier times

الل صل هم حم ا د و له يف ملني االو

And send blessings on

Muhammad and his children in

the later times

و صل ا د و حمم رين خ له يف اال And send blessings on

Muhammad and his children, (in

the midst of those) living in a

satisfying state of the highest

degree

و صل ا د و ء له يف املآل حمم اال

Send blessings on Muhammad

and his children in the midst of

the Messengers

و صل ا د و له يف املرسلني حمم O Allah give to Muhammad and

his children (all) rights of being

“the means of approach” (unto You), and abundant merits,

distinctions, high ranks and most

important priviledges

دا الل اعط حمم هم ا له الوسيلة و وفعة و رف و الر الفضيلة و الش

رجة الكبرية الد


O Allah I accepted the “truth of Muhammad” (Allah’s blessings be on him and his children)

الل ا اين هم د ص منت مبحم ا ليه و ا له هللا

Though I have not met him,

therefore let it not be that I am

deprived of his vision on the Day

of Judgement

مة و لم اره فال حترمين يف القي ته رؤيته و ارزقين صح

And let my life (in the hereafter)

be spent in his company, make

me follow his creed, let me

quench my thirst from his cistern

(Kawthar), thoroughly, in plenty,

gliding the wholesome water

pleasantly down the throat,

never ever to be thirsty again

و توفين ته و اسقين من مل حوضه مشربا رويا سآئغا

ئا ال اظمآء بعده ابداهن Indeed You have power over all

things شيء قدير انك ل O Allah I accepted the “truth of Muhammad” (Allah’s blessings be on him and his children)

الل ا اين د هم منت مبحم ليه و ا اهللا له ص

Though I have not met him,

therefore let me remain aware of

his true aspects in the Paradise

فين يف اجلنان وجهه و لم اره فعر O Allah convey to Muhammad

(Allah’s blessings be on him and his children) my much and many

compliments and salutations

الل ليه و ا اهللا دا ص بلغ حمم له همية كثرية وسالما حت مين


DUA UMMI DAWUD


Beneficient, the merciful. مح الر حيم بسم ا ن الر O Allah! Send blessings on

Muhammad and on the children

of Muhammad.

د و حمم صل اللهم د ا ل حمم Allah is true that He is the

Greatest صدق اهللا العظيم

such as there is no God but He,

the Ever-living, the Eternal, القيوم الذي الاله اال هو احليThe Lord of majesty and

generosity, ذواجلالل واالكرام the Beneficent, the Merciful, the

Benevolent, the Compassionate; حيم احلليم الكريم محن الر الرThere is nothing and no-one like

Him, ء ا س كمثله ◌ لذي ل He is the All-Hearing, the All-

Knowing, the All-Seeing, the

Aware.

ميع العل البصري اخلبري يم و هو الس

Allah bears witness that there is

no god but He; and (so do) the

angels and those who have

knowledge, maintaining His

creation with justice;

ال اله اال هو شهد اهللا انه آئما ئكة واولو العلم ق واملآل

بالقسط There is no God but He, the

Mighty, the Wise. Surely the true religion with Allah

is Islam).

اله اال هو العزيز احلكيم آل ين عند اهللا االسالم الد ان


His very noble Messengers had

declared and made known, and I

am of those who bear witness to

these facts.

ذلك وبلغت رسله الكرام وانا اهدين من الش

O Allah! اللهم To You belongs all praise, glory, لك احلمد ولك املجد Honour, pride, لك الفخر و ولك العز supreme power, bounties, ولك القهر ولك النعمة greatness, mercy, محة ولك العظمة ولك الر reverence, sovereignty, لطان املهابة ولك ولك الس beauty, benevolence, نان ولك اال ولك البهآء م glorification, holiness, يح س ولك التقديس ولك ال “LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAAH” “Allaahu Akbar”, ولك التهليل ولك التكبري that which is seen, that which is

not seen, ولك مايرى ولك مااليرى that which is far above the high

heavens, موات العلي ولك ما فوق السthat which is deep down under

the abyss, ولك ما حتت الثرى


the worlds below the heavens,

the end and the beginning,

ولك اال ف رضون الس و االوىل خرة ولك اال

that which You find loveable,

beautiful and agreeable out of

the felicitation, praise, thanks-

giving and response to Your call.

نآء به من ال ولك ما تر و كر والنع مآء احلمد والش

O Allah send blessings on

Muhammad, Your ‘abd, Messenger, confidant and

beloved and on the children of

Muhammad.

د عبدك حمم صل اللهمبك نك وحب ورسولك وام

د وال حممO Allah send blessings on Jibrail,

reliable carrier of Your

revelations, prompt and

energetic in conveying Your

commands,

نك جربئيل ام صل اللهم امرك وحيك والقوي

come and go through heavens

carrying out Your orders,

operator of Your miracles, porter

of Your words

واملط مسواتك وحمال اع ىفلماتك ل ل كراماتك املتحم

helper of Your Prophets,

destroyer of Your enemies. دآئك يآئك املدمر ال الناصر النO Allah send blessings on Mikail,

effective courier of Your mercy,

created with Your compassion

مي صل ئيل ملك آاللهم رمحتك واملخلوق لرافتك


and kindness to ask pardon for

and be helpful to those who obey

You.

الهل طاعتك واملستغفر املعني

O Allah send blessings on Israfeel,

bearer of Your Arsh, announcer

of the awaited call

اسرافيل حامل صل اللهمتظر ور امل عرشك وصاحب الص

when You will give the order;

cautious, on his guard, in awe of

Your reverential fear.

ق من خيفتك املشف المرك الوجل

O Allah send blessings on Izraeel

who takes away the souls from all

the living beings

عزرآ ئيل قابض اللهم صل ارواح مجيع خلقك

O Allah send blessings on the

chaste bearers of the Arsh;

محلة العرش ل ا صل لهماهرين الط

on the Angels, the reporting

emissaries who run to and fro

tirelessly with the supplications

of the faithful,

كر اهل مآلئكتك الذ وآء املؤمنني م آت د ني

journeying to do anything in

honour of the innocence of the

upright,

يبني و فرة الكرام الربرة الط الس on the “Kiraamil Kaatibeen” (The two recorders of the deeds); اتبني مآلئكتك الكرام ال وon the Angels of the Gardens,

storehouses of the bright lights, مآلئكة اجلنان وخزنة النريان و


the angels of death and the

helpers. وملك املوت واالعوان O the Owner of majesty and

honour. ياذا اجلالل واالكرام O Allah send blessings on our

father, Adam, نا ادم اب صل اللهمYour flesh and blood original

creation, بديع فطرتك whom You distinguished by

making Your Angels prostrate

themselves in adoration before

him

بسجود ا مته لذي كر

ئكتك مآل and admitted him into Your

paradise. تك ج واحبته O Allah send blessings on our

mother, Hawwaa, امنا حوآء صل اللهمkept safe from impurity and

foulness جس املطهرة من الر

endowed with love for mankind;

من االنس a dweller in the sacred quarters. القدس ا حمال ملرتددة بني O Allah send blessings on Habeel,

Sheeth, هابيل وشيث صل اللهمIdrees, Nuh, Hud, Saleh, وادريس ونوح وهود وصاحل Ibrahim, Ismail, Ishaq, وابراهيم وامسعيل واسحق


Yaqub, Yusuf, Isbat, Lut, ويعقوب ويوسف واالسباط ولوط Shoayb, Ayoub, Musa, Harun, وه رون وشعيب وايوب ومو Yusha, Meesaa, Khizr, ويوشع وميشا واخلضر Zil Qarnayn, Yunus, Ilyas, ويونس والياس وذى القرننيYas’a, Zil Kifl, Talut, سع وذى الكفل وطالوت والDawud, Sulayman, Zakariya,

Yahya, مان وزكريا وحيي وداود وسلي Turakh, Matta, Irmiya, Hayquq, وارميا وحيقوق وتورخ ومىت Daniyal, Uzayr, Isa, Shamoon, ومشعون ودانيال وعزير وJirgis (and the obedient true

disciples of Isa), Hanzalah and

Luqman.

واالتباع و س واحلواريني جرج وخالد وحنظلة ولقمان

O Allah send blessings on


of Muhammad;

د ال حمم د و حمم اللهم صلenvelop Muhammad and the

children of Muhammad with Your

mercy;

د ال حمم دا و وارحم حممlet Muhammad and the children

of Muhammad be praised and

hallowed;

د ال حمم د و حمم وبارك


as You blessed, mercified and

made happy Ibrahim and the

children of Ibrahim

ورمحت وباركت كما صليت

ابراهيم و ل ابراهيم ا Verily You are Praiseworthy,

Glorious. يد جميد انك محO Allah send blessings on the

Aimma [the descendents of Your

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)] the

successors, the fortunate

martyrs, who guided the mankind to Your path.

صل االوصيآء اللهم

هدآء عدآء و الش و الس

ة اهلدى وائم O Allah send blessings on the

moderate, on the rammed-in, االبدال والوتاد اللهم صل on the travelling, on the

enslaved, on the freed, ياح والعباد واملخلصني والسon the ascetic and on the

earnestly seeking perfection in

the knowledge;

و االجتهاد هاد واهل اجلد والزand singularise Muhammad and

his children واخصص ته اهل ب دا و حمم with Your best blessings, be

liberal and give much in addition; بافضل صلواتك واجزل كراماتك let my invocation of blessings

reach his body and soul, وبلغ روحه و جسده مينdistinct and wholesome, and

bestow benefits on him, in

abundance, the best,

ية وسالما وزده فضال حتsuper passing in grace and

nobility, وشرفا وكرما


till he occupies entirely the

highest position درجات ا حىت تبلغه among the distinguished

Prophets, رف من النبيني اهل الشMessengers and preferred

favourites. بني ر واالفاضل املق واملرسلنيO Allah send blessings on those, I

have referred to يت من مس صل اللهمand on those, I have not quoted,

from among Your Angels من مآلئكتك ومن ل م اسم Prophets, Messengers and Your

devoted servants, يآئك ورسلك واهل طاعتك و انand let my invocation “to send blessings” reach them,

اليهم واىل واوصل صلوا ارواحهم

make them “the like of me” in this matter, فيك واجعلهم اخواىنand be my co-prayers. آئك د واعواىنO Allah I turn to You in Your

name to ask for Your intercession استش اىن فع بك اليك اللهم in the name of Your Generosity

for Your kindness, وبكرمك اىل كرمك in the name of Your liberality for

Your benefits, وجبودك اىل جودك in the name of Your compassion

for Your mercy وبرمحتك اىل رمحتك and in the name of Your devoted

I beseech You O Allah for the

whole of that which any one of

them asked for in the matter of

(their) close at hand dominating

difficulties, never turned down,

whereby (their) desires in the

matter of (their) affairs received

fulfilment, never left deluded in

their hope.

O Allah, the Beneficent, the

Beautiful, ي ل يامجيل ياجليل يام the Warrantor, the Advocate, the

Beloved, ياوكيل يامقيل ياكفيل the Lenient Supporter, the

Knowing, the Luminary, يامنري ياجمري ياخبري the Invulnerable, the Unseeable,

the Lawgiver, يع يامديل ياحميل يام the Great, the Omnipotent, the

Seer, the Rewarder of

thankfulness,

ياكبري ياقدير يابصري ياشكور the Source of all goodness, the

Purifier, the pure, the Wielder of

absolute power,

ياطهرياطاهر ياقاهر يابرthe Manifest, the Hidden, the

Covering Shelter, ياظاهر ياباطن ياساتر


the Encompassing Guardian, the

Powerful, thePreserver, ياحميط يامقتدر ياحفيظ the Helper of the needy, the

Neighbour, the Loving Friend, ياقري ب ياودود يامتجرب the Praised, the Glorified, the

Originator, the Restorer, يد ياجميد ئ يامعيد يامبد يامح the Witness, the Good who treats

well, the Beauty who acts in a

handsome manner, the Ecstasy

who gives joy and happiness,

د ياحمسن ياشهي يامنعم ياجممل

the Superabundance who gives

extra plus, the Constrictor, the

Expander, the Guide,

ياباسط ياهادي يامفضل ياقابض the Sender of Messengers, the

Leader who leads on the Right

Path, the Redeemer who grants

compensation,

د يامرسل يامرشد يامسد

the Very Liberal who gives out

freely, the Protector, the Defender, the Exalter,

يامانع يامع يادافع يارافع

the Everlasting Survivor, the

Fulfiller of promise, the Creator, the Provider

ياواىف يارزاق ياخالق يابا the Bestower, the Answerer to

the repentants, the Opener, اب يافتاح اب ياتو ياوهthe Bountiful who prompts gifts,

the Comforter يانفاح يامرتاح O He who holds all the keys,

promotes interest, مفتاح يانفاع ل يامن بيده


grants amnesty, does favours,

gives satisfaction, restores to

health, pardons, requits, carries

out completely,

اىف يارؤف ياعطوف يا

اىف يام يامعاىف ياشاىف ياوىف The Guardian, the Incomparable,

the Compeller, ياعزيز ياجبار يامهيمنيThe Proud, the Flawless, the

Giver of Faith; ياسالم يامؤمن يامتكربThe One, the Eternal, Light,

Director, امدبر يااحد ياصمد يانور ي Unique, Separate, Holy, Helper, وس ياناصر يافرد ياوتر ياقدCompanion, the Resurrector, the

Inheritor, يامونس ياباعث ياوارث Knower, Ruler, First cause,

Sustainer, يامميت ياحمىي يانافع يارازق Powerful, Primary Cause,

Liquidator, يامقتدر يامسبب يامغيث Enricher, Possessor, Creator

Power, Observer, يامغىن يامقىن ياخالق ياراصد Incomparable, Present, Powerful, ياواحد ياحاضر ياجابر Guardian, Severe, Aide, ياحافظ ياشديد ياغياث Legislator, Siezer, آئد ياق ابض يا O He who is Supreme at the

utmost height of crowning point! ان بلمنظراال ف فاستع يامن O He who is near, nearest; far,

furthest; and is aware of the

innermost and the hidden!

لم رب فدنا وبعد فناى و يامن ق واخ ر الس

O He who plans prudently and

executes well, knows the

measure, extent and influence,

also the possibilities!

يامن اليه التدبري وله املقادير

O He who is able to do easily that

which is difficult! ويا من ليه سهل ي سري العسري O He who is able to do that which

He wills! مايشآء قدير يامن هو O He who makes the wind blow! ياح يامرسل الر


O He who causes the dawn to

break forth! يافالق االصباح O He who awakens the souls! ياباعث االرواح O the Lord of generosity and

clemency! ماح ياذا جلود والسO He who restores to its former

state that which had decayed! يارآد ماقد فات O He who brings the dead to life

again! موات ياناشر اال O He who assembles the

scattered together! تات ياجامع الشO He who give sustenance,

without measure, to

whomsoever He wills!

حساب يارازق من يشآء بغريO He who does that which He

wills in whatever manner He

desires!

ل مايشآء كيف يشآء و يافا O the Lord of Majesty and

kindness! وياذااجلالل واالكرام O Ever living! O Everlasting! O

Ever living who was there when

nothing was in existence!

ال حني ياقيوم يا ياO Ever living! O He who brings

back the dead to life! ياحمىي املو ياO Ever living there is no god

except You, the creator of the

heavens and earth!

الاله اال انت بديع يا

موات واالرض الس


O God and Master send blessings

on Muhammad and on the

children of Muhammad

يااهلى وسيدى صل

د ال حمم د و حممas You blessed, sanctified and

comforted Ibrahim and the

children of Ibrahim!

يت وباركت ورمحت كما صل ل ابراهيم ابراهيم وا

Verily You are praiseworthy,

Almighty! يد جميد انك محHave mercy on my humiliation,

helplessness, insufficiency,

timidity, aloneness and

submissiveness before You

وفقرى وانفرادى وفاقىت وارحم ذىل يديك وو بني وخضو حد

I rely upon You, I approach You

furtively, اليك ليك وتضر واعتمادى I call upon You the prayer of a

submissive, humble, ليل آء اخلاضع الذ ادعوك دlow, frightened, worried,

miserable, اخلاشع اخلآئف املشفق البآئس weak, modest, earthly, needy, اجلآئع الفقري احلقري املهنيrefugee seeking asylum,

confessing sins, بذنبه املقر العآئذ املستجريasking for forgiveness and

tranquillity from his Lord; لربه املستغفر منه املستكني


The cry of a supplicant who

expected help but was betrayed

and abandoned by his friends and

therefore his agony is terrible,

now sour, sad, sick, small, poor

and disgusted turns to You

pleading for sanctuary.

ته آء من اسلمته ثقته ورفضته اح دآء حرق حزين وعظمت فجيعته د

بك بآئس مستكني ضعيف مهني مستجري

O Allah I beseech You because

You are the Absolute Sovereign

and verily that which You desire

takes effect and verily that which

You will You are able to do.

اسئلك بانك مليك اللهموانك ماتشآء من امر يكون

ماتشآء قدير وانك I beseech You in the name of this

sacred month, the sacred House

(Holy Ka’ba), the sacred City (Makka), the Rukn (the corner of

the Holy Ka’ba) where the black stone (Hajr Aswad) is lying), the

Maqaam [the spot where

Prophet Ibrahim used to stand

for prayers], the majestic places

where the multitude of Hajis

(pilgrims) performs the holy rites

in Ka’ba and in the name of Your Prophet Muhammad, peace be

on him.

هر احلرام واسئلك حبرمة هذا الشيت احلرام والبلد احلرام وال

كن واملقام واملشاعر العظام والرالم ليه الس د يك حمم ن وحبق

O He who prepared and

presented Sheeth to Adam, Ismail

and Ishaaq to Ibrahim!

ثا يامن وهب الدم شوالبراهيم امسعيل واسحق


O He who brought back Yusuf to

Yaqub! يعقوب ويامن رد يوسف O He who dispersed the sorrows,

distressing Ayyub, after the test

and trial!

ايوب ويا من كشف بعد البآلء ضر

O He who returned Musa to his

mother, and made Khizr grow in

his wisdom!

امه وزآئد اخلضر ىف يارآد مو لمه

O He who prepared and

presented Sulayman to Dawud,

Yahya to Zakariyya and Isa to

Maryam!

ويا من وهب لداود سليمان ولزكريا س حيىي وملريم

O He who guarded the daughter

of Shuayb! ياحافظ بنت شعيب O He who took charge of the

safety of the child of the mother

of Musa!

و مو افل ولد ام يا I Beseech You to send blessings

on Muhammad and on the

children of Muhammad, and to

absolve me from all my

transgressions, set me free from

the application of Your

punishment,

ا د و حمم د اسئلك ان تص ل حمم من لها وجتريىن و ان تغفر ىل ذنوىب

ذابك

oblige me with Your approval,

protection, favours, pardon and

sanctuary.

وتوجب ىل رضوانك وامانك واحسانك وغفرانك وجنانك


I beseech You to untie me from

all the links that connect me with

those who wrong me,

ىن حلقة ب ل عىن واسئلك ان تفك من ي ؤذيىن وبني

throw open for me every possible

avenue of progress, make light

the burdens that trouble me,

make easy the difficulties that

press hard upon me,

صعب ل ىل باب وتلني ل وتفتح ىل عسري ل وتسهل ىل

render dumb every tongue that

speaks evil of me, chase away

from me every quarrelsome

renegade,

ناطق ب وخترس عىن ل شر باغ ل عىن وتكف

destroy every envious enemy

who wants to put me to shame, ىل وحاسد دو وتكبت عىنprevent every tyrant who plans

to oppress me, and spare me

from (all) repulsive influence that

corrupt my desires,

ل ىن ظالم وتكف ل ومتنع مىن حاجىت ىن وبني آئق حيول ب

or get in the way to undo my

obedience to You, طاعتك ىن وبني ق ب وحياول ان يفرlead astray my thoughts away

from Your worship. بطىن عن عبادتك وي


O He who censored the

insubordinate jinn, condemned

the insolent devils, bound by the

neck the proud tyrants, and put a

stop to the subjugation of the

weak (turned timid and ignorant)

by the heartless articulate

usurpers.

دين وقهر املتمر يامن اجلم اجلن رقاب واذل ياطني عتاة الش

سلطني ين وردكيد امل املتجربعن املستضعفني

I beseech You in the name of

Your absolute command over

that which You will, the ease with

which You render possible

whatever You will, take a decision

in the matter of my desires while

You will.

ما تشآء اسئلك بقدرتك وتسهيلك ملا تشآء كيف تشآء ان

فيم ا تشآء جتعل قضآء حاجىت

[Go into sajda and put either side of your face on the earth, one after

the other and recite:] O Allah I prostrate myself before

You in adoration and put faith in

You, so take pity on my

humiliation, helplessness,

struggle against difficulties, near

collapse, misery and broke

fortune, O my Lord!

لك سجدت وبك امنت اللهم واجتهادى وفاقىت فارحم ذىل

وفقرى اليك ىت ومسك وتضر يارب


And then recite 100 times:

حوائج ا االلطاف ياقا بلطفك ياخ اقض حاجىت البني لط (O He who satisfies the needs of those who ask, satisfy me request

with Your Subtlety, O the one who makes available help through

subtlety.


Recite the following 4 tasbihat (10 in each section)

1.

Glory be to Allah, before

everyone (glorifies Him) احد ل سبحان اهللا قبل Glory be to Allah, after

everyone (glorifies Him) احد ل و سبحان اهللا بعد Glory be to Allah, when

everyone (glorifies Him) احد ل و سبحان اهللا مع Glory be to Allah, Everlasting,

Forever is our Rabb, and

everyone passes away.

ربنا و يفىن و سبحان اهللا يب ل احد

Glory be to Allah, the

glorification of the glorifiers

exalts His glory, immeasurably

exalted is His glory, before

everyone (exalts Him).

يحا يفضل و سبحان اهللا تس، يح املسبحني تس

احد ل فضال كثريا قبل Glory be to Allah, the



exalted is His glory, after

is, immeasurable,

unperceivable, unforgettable,

unperishing, indestructible,

duration of His glory makes His

glorification eternal,

continuous existence of His

glory keeps His glorification

alive forever, throughout the

و النهار Glory be to Allah, never-ending

glorification along with ever

eternal glory, which neither

can be terminated into an end

nor can ever be discontinued,

be praised and hallowed is

Allah, the Best Creator.

There is no god but Allah,

never-ending acceptance of

His single Divinity along with

His ever eternal single Divinity,

which, neither can be counted

in addition, nor can be




the Best Creator.

عه االبد و تبارك اهللا احسن ال يقط اخلالقني


4. Allah is the Greatest, before

everyone (extols Him). احد ل قبل و اهللا اكربAllah is the Greatest, after

everyone (extols Him). ا ل بعد حد و اهللا اكرب Allah is the Greatest, before

everyone (extols Him). احد ل مع و اهللا اكربAllah is the Greatest,

Everlasting, Forever is our

Rabb, and everyone passes

away.

It is highly recommended to recite the following dua

O Allah, send blessings on

Muhammad and on the

progeny of Muhammad

الل صل هم ا د و د حمم ل حمم In the name of Allah, the

Beneficent, the Merciful مح حيم بسم اهللا الر ن الر O Allah, Many a man takes

pain, makes compromises, uses

artifices, comes to terms, to

draw attention of other men in

hope of profit and gain,

kindness and indulgences, but

to You

الل من تعبا هم د و ا و يا لوفادة اىل خملوق ر جآء رفده واستعد

و طلب نآئه و جآئزته فاليك

O Lord, I turn to fitness and

maturity, seeking Your favours,

و استعدا ىت تعب دي يا رب رجآء عفوك

making a request for Your

indulgence and kindness,

because You don’t dismiss praying supplicant

و طلب نآئلك و جآئزتك آئى ب د فال ختي

O He who does not send away

any destitute disappointed, nor

is ever at a disadvantage

because of extravagance

(giving without restraint)

ليه سآئل خييب يا من ال ال ينقصه نآئل و

Surely I have come to You with

no good deeds to rely upon,

but I never go to others to

draw their attention

لم اتك ثقة بعمل صاحل عملته فاينجوته و ال لوفادة خملوق ر


I have come to You, bitter and

sour on account of vain desires,

sad and desolate, ashamed of

my guilt.

تك مقرا نفسي باالسآئة و اتفا لم معرت الظ

Without any excuse or

argument I have come to You

to make a request for Your

lenient method You us to deal

with wrong-doers

تك ارجو ذر ات ة يل و ال بان ال حجيم عفوك الذي عظ

عفوت به عن اخلاطئني

Because prolonged fascination

for an artificial life does not

make You withdraw mercy

فلم مينعك طول عكوفهم ليهم دت عظيم اجلرم ان

محة بالر O He who shows mercy, again

and again, and forgives, ever so

beyond measure

عفوه فيا من رمحته واسعة وO The Magnificent, O The

Magnificent, O The Magnifcent يا عظيم ياعظيم يا عظيم Nothings turns off Your anger

except Your loving attention,

nothing keeps safe from Your

displeasure, except humble

submissiveness to You

حلمك و ال ينجي ال يرد غضبك االع اليك التضر من سخطك اال


So forgive me, O my Lord and

Master, free me of care and

anxiety, as You have the skill

and mastery (even) to make

barren dead ground grow

green and be fertile

ي فرجا بالقدرة اليت فهب يل يااهل حتيي بها

ميت البالد And do not make me rush into

deadly danger, in frustration ا و ال لكين غمGive answer to my call, tell me

that my request has received

approval

فين الجابة يف حىت تستجيب يل و تعرآء د

Let me have the full use of the

welfare (I am allowed), till the

end of my life

و ازقين طعم العافية اىل ت م اج

Do not give my enemy an

chance to laugh at me ي دو و ال تشمت يبDo not give him an upper hand

over me و ال تسلطه لي Do not let him tread on the

neck of his victim (me) و ال متكنه من عنقي O Allah! If You hamper my

progress, who (no one) can

promote my cause

ين فمن ذاالذي الل ان وضع هم يرفعين

If You improve my station, who

(no one) can lower my position ين فمن ذاالذي يضعين و ان رفع


If You condemn me who (no

one) can speak to You on

behalf of Your servant and

draw attention to his plight!

ين فمن ذا الذي يعرض و ان اهلكلك يف عبدك او يسئلك عن امره و

لمت قد I know for sure there is no

injustice in what You decide

upon, nor You punish in a

hurry

س يف حكمك ظلم و ال يف انه لعجلة نقمتك

For only he makes haste, who

is liable to lose the chance ا يعجل من خياف الفوت و امنOr only the weak and stupid

resort to high-handedness عيف لم الض ا حيتاج اىل الظ و امنAnd You stand high and above و قد تعاليت O my Lord and Master, away

from this, the sublime, the

Greatest

ا كبريا لو يا اهلي عن ذلك O Allah! I seek refuge with You,

so give me asylum, ذين اعوذ بك فا اين اللهمI look for Your protection, so

watch over me و استجري بك فاجرينI ask for means of livelihood, so

keep up me و اسرتزقك فارزقين I rely upon You, so make me

content ليك فاكفين ل و اتوI turn to You for help against

my enemy so support me نصرك و اس ي فانصرين دو


I run after Your help so stand

by me. I strive for Your

forgiveness

و استغفرك ين بك فا و استعنيO my Lord and Master, forgive

me فاغفريل ي يا اهل So be it, so be it, so be it ا ا مني ا مني مني O Allah send blessings to

Muhammad and his progeny الل صل هم ا د و د حمم ل حمم


DUA AL ‘ARAFA – IMAM HUSAYN (pbuh)

حم صل د و اللهم م د ا ل حمم O Allah! Send blessings on


of Muhammad.

مح الر حيم بسم ا ن الر In the name of Allah, the

Beneficient, the merciful.

س لقض ااحلمد ئه دافع آلذي لPraise be to Allah Whose

determination cannot be

repelled by anything,

Whose gifts cannot be stopped مانع ئه آوال لعط

by anything,

وال كصنعه صنع صانع and Whose making cannot be

resembled by the making of

anyone.

He is the All-magnanimous, the لواسع اجلواد اوهو

All-liberal.

اجناس فطر ا He originated the genus of the ئع آبد ل

wonderfully created things

ا واتقن حبكمته ن and He perfected the made ئع آلص

things by His wisdom.

ال آلاليه خت All growing things cannot be ئع لط

hidden from Him

and all things deposited with ئع آلود اضيع عنده ت وال

Him shall never be wasted.

صانع جازي He is the Repayer on every ل

deed,

قانع اي ور ل the Enricher of every satisfied ش

one,

ضارع و ل the Merciful toward every راحم

suppliant,


ل and the Revealer of the benefits ملنافع اوم

اطع النور اجلامع ب الكتاب او and the All-comprehensive لس

Book with the glaring light.

عوات سامع ,He is also the Hearer of prayers وهو للد

,the Warder-off of anguishes وللكربات دافع

رجات رافع ,the Raiser of ranks وللد

and the Suppressor of the وللجبابرة قامع

tyrants.

ريه ا فال There is no god other than Him له

and there is nothing equivalent يعدله شيء وال

to Him

س كمثله شيء and nothing like a likeness of ول

Him,

ميع اوهو and He is the All-hearing, the لبصري الس

All-seeing,

,the All-gentle, the All-aware خلبري اللطيف ا

شيء قدير وهو and He has power over all ل

things.

الل اا هم O Allah, I willingly desire for You ليك ا رغب ◌ ين

بوبية لك اشهد ب ◌ وا and I testify to the Lordship of لر

You,

◌ امقر confessing that You are verily نك ريب با

my Lord


.and to You shall be my return ليك مردي ا و

You had begun bestowing on تين بنعمتك ابتدا

me

كو ◌ ن اقبل ا ن ش before I was anything worth امذكور ائ

mentioning,

ين .and You created me from dust اب لرت ا من وخلق

ا ين ثم اسكن ,You then put me up in the loins صالب ال

ا saved from (making me) ن ملنو اا لريب من

vicissitudes of time,

هو اف ختال او نني ار و لد .and change of ages and years لس

◌ فلم ا I was moving from a loin to a رحم ىل ا من صلب ازل ظاعن

womb

ايف تقادم من throughout the passage of the ملاضية ايام ال

past days

;and the ancient ages خلالية ان لقرو او

◌ لرا لم خترجين فتك يبas You have not taken me out

(to this world)—on account of

Your sympaYour to me,

,Your kindness to me ولطفك يل

—and Your compassion to me واحسانك ايل

يف ة دولة ا in the government of the heads لكفر ائم

of unbelief


ا who breached their covenant دك عه ان نقضو لذي

with You

بو .and denied Your messengers رسلك اوكذ

ين لكنك ا للذي خرج ىهلد امن سبق يل

However, You took me out on

account of the guidance that

You have already known about

me

ا رتين ذي ل and You have made easy the له يس

way to it

وفي ه ا and You have brought me up in تين نشا

it.

ومن قبل ذلك Even before that, You had رؤفت يب

compassion on me,

through Your excellent ل صنعك جبمي

conferral

.and Your affluent bestowals وسوابغ نعمك

م من بتدعت خلقي اف So, You fashioned my creation ميىن ين

from semen that gushed forth

ين يف ظلمات ثالث ◌ وا and put me up in triple سكن

darkness

حلم ودم و .among flesh, blood, and skin جلد بني

You have not made me witness لم تشهدين خلقي

my creation,

ئا من امري and You have not referred any و لم جتعل اىل ش

part of my creation to me.


ا ين للذي ◌ ثم خرج ىهلد امن ق يل سبYou then took me out on

account of the guidance that

You have already known about

me

نيا تآم ا ىل ا to the world, perfect and in اسوي الد

sound health.

ين طفال ملهد ايف وحفظ ي You have safeguarded me in the اص

cradle as small child.

ين آلغذ امن ورزق ن You have provided me with امري اء ل

wholesome milk as food.

قلو لي You have made the hearts of حلواضن اب وعطفت

the nursemaids tender.

ين واحم ا مهات ال اوكفل You have given me into the لر

charge of merciful mothers.

ال ان طوارق م تين و You have saved me from the ن آجل

visits of the Jinn.

ين من يادة اوسلم You have delivered me from لنقصان او لز

increase and decrease.

-So, Exalted be You, O All م يا رمحن فتعاليت يا رحي

merciful, O All-beneficent.

اب استهللت ناطق اذا ا حىت When I commenced (my life) by م ال ل

pronouncing words,

سوابغ ا لي You perfected for me the نعام ال امتمت

affluent bestowals,

ام يف اد ي زا ين وربي and brought me up with an ل

increase every year.

كتملت اذا ا حىت When my creation was فطريت

accomplished,

عتدلت او يت ,and my power became straight مر


تك ◌ ا حج لي You put me under the وجبت

obligation of Your Claim,

ب ◌ ن اا ين معرفت which is that You inspired me ك هلم

with recognition of You

ين and alarmed me by the ئب حكمتك آبعج ورو

wonders of Your wisdom,

ين وا ئك آمس يف ت ◌ ملا ذرا يقظ رضك ◌ وا

and You aroused in me that

which You created in Your

heavens and lands,

which is the excellent creation ئع خلقك آمن بد

of You.

ين You attracted my attentions to وذكرك لشكرك ونبه

thank and mention You.

طاعتك ◌ وا لي You made obligatory on me to وعبادتك وجبت

obey and worship You.

ين You made me understand that رسلك به ءت آما ج وفهم

with which Your Apostles came.

رت You made easy for me to find تقبل مرضاتك يل ويس

agreeable Your pleasure.

لي نت يف وم You bestowed upon me with ذلك ع مجي

the favor of all that,

out of Your aid and Your ولطفك بعونك

gentleness.

ين ا ثم ذ خلق As You created me from the لثرىامن خري

best of soil,

ىخر ا ن دو نعمة إهلي يآ لم ترض يل You, my God, have not wanted

for me to have a certain favor

(and to be deprived of another)


ين انواع ◌ من ا ورزق and You therefore provided me عاش مل

with the various kinds of living

ياش اف وصنو ,and types of wealth لر

امبنك ام لعظي لي ال out of Your great and grand عظم

conferral upon me,

ا حسانك ا و and Your eternal kindness to يل ا م لقدي

me.

◌ ذا اا ىت ح مجي لي As You perfected for me all the لنعم اع متمت

graces

وصرفت ل ,and warded off all misfortunes لنقم اين

◌ لم مينعك جهلي وجرا my ignorance of You and ليك يت

challenge have not stopped You

ين ا بين ىل ا ن دلل from showing me that which ليك ا ما يقر

takes me near to You,

ين لديك ملا يزلفين ووفقand from leading me to that

which grants me proximity to

You.

ين ◌ ك ادعوت ن ا ف So, if I pray You, You will جب

respond to me;

ين ◌ لتك ائ ن س ا و and if I beg You, You will give عطي

me;

ا و and if I obey You, You will thank طعتك شكرتين ن ا

me;

and if I thank You, You will give ن شكرتك زدتين ا و

me more.

كماال ا ذلك ل All that is completion of Your لي نعمك ال

favors for me,


.and Your kindness to me يل ا حسانك ا و

So, all glory be to You; all glory سبحانك فسبحانك

be to You.

م ئ بد من م You are verily Originator and د عي

Reproducer (of the creation)

ي مح ي and worthy of all praise and full د د جم

of all glory.

ست ا Holy be Your Names ؤك آمس وتقد

وعظمت as Your bounties are so ؤك ال ا

immeasurable.

فا نعم ◌ حصي ◌ اهلي ا ك يا ي اوذكر ادد

Which of Your favors, O my

God, can I count in numbers

and examples?

Or which of Your gifts can I ام بها شكر قو عطاياك ا ي ◌ م اا

thank properly?

ا ◌ وهي يا رب ن كثر من ا ن دو آلع اها حيصي

They are, O my Lord, too

numerous to be counted by

counters

or to be realized by ن حلافظو اها ب ا لم و يبلغ ◌ ا

memorizers.

ما صرفت ت ◌ ودرا ثم Moreover, that which You have ين

warded off and repelled,

من ا و اللهم ر ر الض O Allah, from (the various kinds ء آلض

of) harm and mischief

ر العافية و امن كثر مما ظهر يل ا is more than that which came ء آلس

to me from wellbeing and joy.


حبق هلي ا شهد يا نا ا وا ا قة ي ي ,And I bear witness, O my God ـماين

with my true belief,

ين وعقد عزمات يقand the fortitude of the

determinations of my

conviction

ح وخالص صري and the purity of my open belief دي توحي

in Your Oneness

and the essence of the secret of ي ضمري ن كنو وباطن م

my conscience,

آل and the ties of the canals of the ر بصري نو ئق جماري و

light of my sight,

وا ر صفحة ساري and the lines of my forehead ين جب

and the hallows of the courses نفسي مسارب وخرق

of my breath,

ف وخذاري and the (nasal) cavities of my ين مارن عرن

nose,

and the courses of the meatus اخ مسعي مس ومسارب

of my hearing,

ت وما ض م ليه شفتاي وا and whatever my two lips hide طبقت

and cover up,

ات وحر ل and the motions of the فظ لساين

vocalization of my tongue,

and the socket of the palate of وفكي ومغرز حنك فمي

my mouth and jaw,

مطعمي ومساغ and the tasting of my food and ومشريب

my drink,


راا ومحالة ,and the carrier of my skill سي ◌ م

فارغ لوع وب and the tube of the tissues of ئل عنقي آحب

my neck

ليه اوما and what is included by the صدري ر تامو شتمل

cloak of my chest,

ومحآ and the carriers of the cord of ين ئل حبل وت

my aorta,

and the cords of the ونياط حجاب قلبي

pericardium of my heart,

and the pieces of the retinues كبدي حواشي د فال وا

of my liver,

وما حوته and that which is included by عي ضال ف ا شراسي

the cartilages of my ribs,

,and the cavities of my joints مفاصلي وحقاق

and the interactings of my وقبض عواملي

organisms,

طراف وا and the extremes of my ناملي ا

fingertips,

,and my flesh, and my blood ودمي وحلمي

,and my hair, and my skin وبشري وشعري

,and my nerve, and my sinews وقصبي وعصبي

ي وعظامي وعرو وخم and my bones, and my brain,

and my veins,

,and all of my organs جوارحي ع ومجي


سج اوما ن يام رضاعي ا ذلك and that which was pieced

together during the days of my

suckling,

الت ق وما ا ال and whatever of my body that رض مين

the ground carries,

وسكو ويقظيت ونومي ينand my sleeping, and my

wakefulness, and my

motionlessness,

ات and the movements of my دي وسجو عي ركو وحر

bowing and prostration;

مدى ا ن لو حاولت واجتهدت عصار اال

(by all that I bear witness) that if

I try my best and strive

throughout all ages

او راال ,and all times, if I live them حقاب لو عم

to thank properly only one of نعمك ن ا م ؤدي شكر واحدة ا ن ◌ ا

Your favors,

,I will not be able to do that ذلك ستطعت اا م

لي ج ملو اال مبنك ا ب به شكرك

except through a favor of You,

which also requires me

to thank You for it,

ابد ا once again with new thanking اد جدي

اء طارف آوثن ي and with praise that is newly اد

acquired and newly prepared.

,True is this! And if I try hard ولو حرصت جل ◌ ا


as well as the counters from نامك من ا ن لعادو انا و ا

Your creatures,

to count the scope of Your نعامك ا ن حنصي مدىا

favoring,

و سالفه ,both the past and the present نفه ا

we shall never be able to ادد ما حصرناه

calculate it in number,

ناه ◌ ا وال .or count it in time امد ◌ ا حص

!Too far is this! How can it be ذلك ىن ◌ هيهات ا

يف كتابك انت ◌ وا While it is You Who have لناطق ا ملخرب

informed in Your rational Book

او ب ادق ا ا ل :and true news لص

و ا و ان تعد هاحتصو ال نعمة ا“And if you count Allah's favors, you will not be able to number

them.”

,True is Your Book صدق كتابك

وانبآؤك وبلغت ا يآؤك اللهم ◌ن ورسلك

O Allah, and Your informing Your Prophets and Messengers

have conveyed

,what You revealed to them وحيك ليهم من نزلت ما ا

from Your Revelation,

هلم وبهم من وشرعت نك ديand what You have made plain

for them and through them

Your religion.


◌ ري ا ,Nevertheless, O my God هلي ا يا ين

ي شهد جبهدي ا I bear witness by my ultimate وجد

possibility and my diligence

and the scope of my vigor and ووسعي يت طا ومبلغ

my capacity,

قو وا مو ال مؤمن and I say with full faith and اقن

conviction:

ا All praise be to Allah Who has الم يتخذ ولد لذي ا حلمد

not taken to Himself a son

,to be inherited اث مورو ن فيكو

and Who does not have a ملكه يف ك ولم يكن له شري

partner in His kingdom,

ده آفيض to oppose Him in what He بتدع اما في

fashions,

ل اوال ويل من لذand Who does not have a

helper to save Him from

disgrace,

.to help Him in what He makes ما صنع فريفده في

So, glory be to Him, glory be to فسبحانه سبحانه

Him.

ان في هما لو لفسدتا ا ال ا هلة ارتا وتفط

If there had been in them any

gods except Allah, they would

both have certainly been in a

state of disorder and

destruction.

اسبحان الواحد ا مد احد ال لصAll glory be to Allah, the One,

the Only One, the Besought of

all,


Who begets not nor is He لد لم يلد ولم يو لذي ا

begotten,

ه كفو ولم يكن ل .and there is none like Him حد اا

محدا يعادل محد مآلئكته احلمد بني املقر

All praise be to Allah—praise

that is equal to the praise of His

Favorite Angels,

و ا ي .and His missioned Prophets ملرسلني ائه آن

ا وص May Allah send blessings to His خريته

Select,

د خاتم Muhammad, the Seal of لنبيني احمم

Prophets,

و يبني اله ا ا لط اهري ن لط وسلم ملخلصني ا

and upon his Household, the

pure, immaculate, and well-

chosen, and may He send

benedictions upon them.


Imam (pbuh) then recited the following with tears in his eyes.

O Allah, (please) make me fear

You as if I can see You. جعلين االلهم اا خشاك ين راك اMake happy by fearing You. وا بتقواك سعدينDo not make me unhappy by

disobeying You. تك تشقين وال مبعصChoose for me through Your

decree. ئك آقض يف وخر يل Bless me through Your

determination, قدرك يف وبارك يل so that I will not long for

hastening that which You have

delayed

حب ا ال حىت رت ما ا ل تعجي خor delaying that which You

would hasten. لت خري ◌ تا وال ما عجO Allah, (please) make my

richness in my conscience, نفسي يف جعل غناي االلهمconviction in my hear, قلبي يف ليقني او sincerity in my deeds, عملي يف خالص ال او light in my sight, بصري يف لنور او and insight in my religion. يف ة لبصري او ين ديMake me find enjoyment in my

organs. جبوارحي عين ومت


Make my hearing and my sight

sound until I am inherited.

وبصري مسعي جعل او ني لوارث ا مين

Grant me victory over him who

wrongs me, او نصرين من ظلمين make me witness my avenge

and objective in him, وا رين وم ري ثا ه في ا ريبand make it the delight of my

eye. بذلك ◌ وا ين قر O Allah, (please) relieve my

agony, كشف كربيت االلهمconceal my flaws, او سرت عوريتforgive my sin, غفر يل او يت خطيdrive away my devil from me, او خسا شيطاينredeem my mortgage, وفك رهاينand decide for me, O my God,

the supreme rank رجة اهلي ا يا يل جعل او لعليا ا لدin the Hereafter and in the

former (life). ايف ىل و ال اخرة و الO Allah, all praise be to You for

You have created me لك لا لهم ين احل مد كما خلقand made me hear and see. ين فجعل ي ابصري ◌ اع مسAll praise be to You for you

have created me ين اولك حلمد كما خلقWWW.QFATIMA.COM Page 56

and made my creation perfect,

on account of Your having

mercy on me,

ين يب محة ر اسوي ا خلق فجعلand You could dispense with

creating me. وقد كنت عن خلقي ي اغO my Lord, as You gave rise to

me and perfected my creation; لت تين مبا برا رب فعد فطريتO my Lord, as You originated

me and did well my form; مبا ا رب حسنت صو تين فانشا ريتO my Lord, as You conferred

favors on me and granted me

wellbeing in myself;

ين نفسي يف و يل ا حسنت مبا ا رب افيO my Lord, as You saved me

and led me to success; رب ال ين و تين مبا وفقO my Lord, as You bestowed

favors on me and guided me; ين لي نعمت ا مبا رب فهديO my Lord, as You presented

me and gave me from every

good;

ين مبا ا رب ا و ولي خري ل ين من عطيO my Lord, as you fed me and

watered me; ين مبا ا رب ين و طعم سقيO my Lord, as You enriched me

and gave me to hold; ين مبا ا رب غني ين وا قنيO my Lord, as You helped me

and braced me; ين مبا ا رب عززتين ◌ وا عنO my Lord, as you clothed me

from Your pure cover ين ◌ مبا ا رب س ك من ل ايف اسرت لصand made easy for me Your

adequate making, رت ايف ا صنعك من يل ويس ل


so, (please) send blessings to

Muhammad and the Household

of Muhammad,

د و حمم صل د ا ل حممhelp me against calamities of

ages وا ين هو ائق آبو ر لدand changes of nights and days, او لليايل اف و وصر يام الrescue me from the horrors of

this world وجنين نيااهوال من ا لدand the anguishes of the

Hereafter, اوكربات خرة الand save me from the evils of

what the wrongdoers do in the

earth.

ما يعمل كفين او شراملو ا رض ال ا يف ن لظ

O Allah, as to what I anticipate,

(please) save me (from it). ما ا لل ا كفين اف خاف همAs to what I watch out, (please)

protect me (against it). حذر فقين وما ا Safeguard me in my soul and

religion, نفسي يف و حرسين اف ين وديwatch over me in my journeys, حفظين اف سفري يف و be in charge of my family

members and properties during

my absence,

خلفين اف يل ما و هلي ا يف و bless me in that which You

provide as sustenance, ين ما يف و يل فبارك رزقmake me see myself as humble, فذللين نفسي يف و


make people see me as great, يف و ا مين لناس اني فعظkeep me sound from the evils

of the Jinn and people, و و جل امن شر فسلمين نس ال انdo not disclose me because of

my sins, وبذنو يب تفضحين فالdo not disgrace me because of

the secret side (of myself), ر وبسري يت فال ختزينdo not try me in my deeds, وبعملي تلين فال تdo not deprive me of Your

bounties, ونعمك ين فال تسلand do not refer me to anyone

other than You. ك ىل ا و ري لين فال تTo whom do You entrust me? من ىل ا هلي ا ت ين لTo a relative, and he will

rupture my relation with him! ىل ا فيقطعين ب قريOr to a strange, and he will

glower at me! ىل ا م ا تجهمين د بعي فOr to those who deem me

weak! يل ملستضعفني ا ىل ا م ا While You are my Lord and the

master of my affairs! نت وا ريب مري ك ا ومليI complain to You about my

alienation and my foreignness وبعد داري ليك غربيت ا شكو ا and my ignominy in the eyes of

him whom You have given

domination over me.

وهواين مري ملكته ا من


So, O my God, do not make

Your wrath come upon me. هلي ا غضبك فال لي حتلل If You are not wrathful with me,

then I care for nothing save

You.

ا ف ن ل لي م تكن غضبت فال سواك بايل ◌ ا

All glory be to You; yet, Your

granting me wellbeing is more

favorable for me.

ري ا تك ا سبحانك اف وسع يل نSo, I beseech You, O my Lord, in

the name of the Light of Your

Face

فا وجهك ر بنو ب يا ر لك ساto which the earth and the

heavens have shone,

ا له شرقت لذي ا ا ماوات ارض و ال لس

by which all darkness has been

uncovered, لمات ابه وكشفت لظand by which the affairs of the

past and the coming

generations are made right,

امر ◌ به ا وصلح لني ال ا و و ال ن خري(please) do not cause me to die

while You are wrathful with me ال ن ا ي ين مت غضبك and do not inflict on me Your

rage. وال ل يب سخطك تYou have the right to scold; You

have the right to scold; ىب لك الك ىب الع لعuntil You are pleased (with me)

before that. ذلك قبل حىت ترThere is no god save You; نت ال ا ا له ا آل


Lord of the Holy City, حلرام ا لبلد اربthe Holy Monument, ملشعر او رام احلand the Ancient House يت او ال ي ق لعthat You have encompassed

with blessing ا لربكة احللته لذي اand made security for people. وجعلته للناس ا ◌ امنO He Who pardoned the grand

sins by His forbearance! نوب حبلمه ام يا من عفا عن عظي لذO He Who bestowed bounties

by His favoring! بفضله ء آلنعم اسبغ يا من ا O He Who gave in abundance

by His generosity! يا من ا ا ع بكرمه ل جلزيO my means in my hardship! يت د يف يا يت شدO my companion in my

loneliness! يف يا صاحبي وحديتO my relief in my agony! كربيت يف يا غياثي O my Benefactor in my

amenities! يت نعم يف يا وليي O my God and the God of my

forefathers: له ا و هلي ا يا ئي آب اAbraham, Ishmael, ا ا م و براهي ل مساعيIsaac, and Jacob; ب ويعقو سحاق ا و


the Lord of Gabriel, Michael,

and Seraph; ائيل وإس جربائيل ومي رافيل وربthe Lord of Muhammad, the

Seal of Prophets, د خاتم حمم لنبيني اوربand his elite Household; و تجبني اله ا ملthe Revealer of the Torah, the

Gospel, ل ال او لتوراة اوم ل جنيthe Psalms, and the Furqan; بو او لفرقان او ر لزthe Revealer of kaf-ha-ya-`ayn saad and Taha, Yasin, ل ك وم ويس وطه ص هيعand the Qur'an, full of wisdom. لقر او ان ا م حلكيYou are my haven when the

wide courses fail to carry me

حني نت كهفي ◌ ا يف ملذاهب اين تعي سعتها

and when the earth, despite its

width, become too narrow to

bear me.

ق وتضي ايب برحبها رض الWithout Your mercy, I would

have been of those perishing. هلالكني ا من ولوال رمحتك لكنت You overlook my slips; نت ◌ وا ل مقي عثريتand without Your covering me,

I would have been of those

exposed.

من لكنت ياي ا ولوال سرتك حني ملفضو ا


You aid me with Your support

against my enemies; و اب مؤيدي نت ا ئي آد ا لنصر and without Your support, I

would have been of those

overwhelmed.

بني ملغلو امن ياي لكنت ا نصرك ولوال O He Who gives Himself

exclusively superiority and

highness;

و اب نفسه ص خ يا من مو فعة الس لرso, His friends pride themselves

on account of His pride. فا ◌ ه ه آئ ولي و بعز ن يعتزO He for Whom the kings put

the yoke of humiliation on their

necks;

ك مللو اله جعلت يا من ملذلة ا نري عناقهم ا

for they are fearful of His

authority. ن ئفو آخ فهم من سطواته He knows the stealYour looks of

eyes and that which the breasts

conceal

ا ئنة آخ يعلم ني الدور ا ختفي وما لص

and the future of the times and

ages. وغيب ما تا هو ازمنة و ال ا به يت ر لدO He save Whom none knows

how He is! هو ال ا هو يعلم كيف ال يا من O He save Whom none knows

what He is! هو ال ا يعلم ما هو ال يا من O He save Whom none knows

what He knows! هو ال ا يعلم ما يعلمه ن ال يا م O He Who surfaced the earth

over the water س ايا من ك ال ا رض ء آملWWW.QFATIMA.COM Page 63

and blocked the air with the

heavens! م اء ب آهلو اوسد ء آلسO He Who has the noblest of

names! يا من ا كرم ا ه ل ء آمس الO Owner of favor that is never

interrupted! ابد ◌ ال ينقطع ا لذي املعروف ايا ذا O He Who directed the caravan

towards Joseph in the

wasteland,

كب اض يا مقي سف ليو لر لقفر البلد ا يف

took him out of the pit, جلب ا من وخمرجه and made him king after

enslavement! له دية لعبو ابعد وجا املO He Who had returned him to

Jacob after his eyes became

white on account of the grief,

and he was a repressor of grief!

يعقو ده آيا ر ت ان ا بعد ب بيضناه امن م حلزن فهو كظي

O He Who removed the distress

and misfortune from Job اشف و ايا ر ◌ عن ا لبلوىالض ب و يand withheld the hands of

Abraham from slaying his son after his old age and

termination of his lifetime!

ا يدي ممسك يا و بنه ا بح م عن ذ براهي سنه وفن ره ء عم آبعد كرب

O He Who responded to

Zachariah and granted him John without leaving him alone

and lonely!

حيىي له فوهب ستجاب لزكرياا يا من و افرد ولم يدعه اد حي

O He Who took Jonah out of

the belly of the big fish! ت حلو ابطن من نس يو خرج ◌ يا من ا WWW.QFATIMA.COM Page 64

O He Who cleft the sea to the

children of Israel; ين ايا من فلق آسر ا لبحر ل ل ئيso, He saved them and made

Pharaoh and his army of the

drowned!

ده جناهم وجعل فرعون وجنو فا ملغرقني امن

O He Who sent the winds,

bearing good news, before His

mercy!

ياح ارسل يا من ا رات لر مبش رمحته يدي بني

O He Who has no hastiness on

His creatures who disobey Him!

يا من ل من عصاه م يعجل من خلقه

O He Who saved the sorcerers

after their long denial!

نقذ ايا من حرة ا س ل بعد طو ◌ من لس د جلحو ا

and after they had lived in His

bounty, دو نعمته يف وقد eating from His sustenance, but

serving someone else other

than Him,

ريه ن ويعبدو رزقه ن لو ◌ ياacting in opposition to Him,

antagonizing Him, ه دو آوقد ح ه دو آونand denying His messengers. بو رسله ا وكذO Allah! O Allah! يا ا يا ا


O Originator! O Fashioner!

There is no equal to You. ء يا بدي لك ال ا ع يا بدي ندO Everlasting! There is no end

to You. لك ال نفاد ائم آيا د O Ever-living when there was

no living thing! ال حي حني ايا حيO Raiser from the dead! ا يا حميي ملوO He Who watches every soul

as to what it earns!

آق هو يا من نفس ئم مبا ◌ ل كسبت

O He to Whom I rarely turned

thankful; yet, He did not

deprive me,

له شكري فلم حيرمين يا من قلagainst Whom I committed

grand sins; yet, He did not

disclose me,

يت فلم يفضحين وعظمت خطيand Who saw me insisting on

disobeying Him; yet, He did not

divulge me.

ا ور ين ملعاصي ا فلم يشهرينO He Who safeguarded me in

my early life! صغري يف فظين يا من ح O He Who provided me with

sustenance in my old age! كربي يف زقين يا من ر O He Whose favors to me are

innumerable يا من ا ◌ عندي ه يادي ال حتand Whose bounties cannot be

compensated! ىجتاز ونعمه ال O He Who receives me with

good turn and kindness ارضين و اب يا من حسان ال اخلريWWW.QFATIMA.COM Page 66

but I meet Him with offense

and disobedience! ارضته لعصيان او ساءة ال اب وO He Who had guided me to

faith يا من هداين ال ل ـمان يbefore I learnt showing

gratitude! من قبل ا نان ال اعرف شكر ن ا مO He Whom I besought in

sickness; so, He restored me to

health,

دعوته من يا اض مري فشفاينin bareness; so, He covered me, اوعريان فكساينin hunger; so, He satiated me, آوج شبعين فا ائعin thirst; so, He quenched my

thirst, اوعطشان فا رواينin humility; so, He granted me

dignity, وذ ال لي فا ين عزin ignorance; so, He taught me, فين وجاهال فعرin loneliness; so, He increased

my number, اووحيد فكثرينin foreignness absence; so, He

returned me home, آو ائب فردينin poverty; so, He enriched me, فا ومقال ◌ غناينin victory-seeking; so, He

supported me, تصر اوم فنصرينand in richness; so, He did not

deprive me. ي ين اوغ فلم يسل


When I withheld praying Him in

all these situation,

He took the initiative.

مسكت ◌ وا ع ذلك عن مجي بتدا اف ين

So, all praise and thanks be to

You; كر احلمد و افلك لشO He Who overlooked my slips, يا من ا قال عثريتrelieved my agonies, ونفس كربيت responded to my prayer, جاب ◌ وا دعويتcovered my flaws, وسرت عوريتforgave my sins, وغفر ذنو يبsettled my need, وبلغين يت طلand supported me against my

enemy. ونصرين دوي If I count Your bounties, favors, ا و نك د ن ا نعمك ومand liberal gifts, I will never

number them. ا ئم منحك ال آوكر ◌ هاحصيO my Master! It is You Who

bestowed (upon me). نت لذي انت ي ا يا موال مIt is You Who conferred favors

(upon me). لذي انت ◌ ا نعمت اIt is You Who did good (to me). لذي انت ◌ ا حسنت ا


It is You Who treated (me)

excellently. مجلت ◌ اي لذ انت ا It is You Who favored (me). لذي انت ◌ ا فضلت اIt is You Who perfected (Your

blessings upon me). لذي انت ◌ ا كملت اIt is You Who provided (me)

with sustenance. ا ◌ رزقت لذي ا ت نIt is You Who led (me) to

success. وفقت لذي انت ا It is You Who gave (me). لذي انت ◌ ا عطيت اIt is You Who enriched (me). يت ◌ ا لذي انت ◌ ا غIt is You Who gave (me) to hold. لذي انت ◌ ا يت ق اIt is You Who gave (me) shelter. لذي انت ◌ ا ويت اIt is You Who saved (me). كفيت لذي انت ا It is You Who guided (me). هديت لذي انت ◌ ا It is You Who protected (me). عصمت لذي انت ◌ ا It is You Who covered my

faults. سرتت لذي انت ا It is You Who forgave (me). غفرت لذي انت ا It is You Who overlooked my

sins. لذي انت ا قلت اWWW.QFATIMA.COM Page 69

It is You Who established (me). مكنت لذي انت ا It is You Who consolidated

(me). لذي انت ا عززت اIt is You Who helped (me). لذي انت ا عنت اIt is You Who backed (me) up. عضدت لذي انت ا It is You Who aided (me). لذي انت ا يدت اIt is You Who supported (me). نصرت لذي انت ا It is You Who restored (me) to

health. شفيت لذي انت ا It is You Who granted (me)

wellbeing. افيت لذي نت ا It is You Who honored (me). لذي نت ا كرمت اBlessed be You and Exalted be

You. تباركت وتعاليت So, all praise be to You

permanently, ائم آحلمد د افلك and all thanks be to You

enduringly and eternally. اولك كر واصب ابد ا الشHowever, it is I, O my God, who

confess of my sins; ا ف بذنو اهلي ا نا يا ◌ ثم ملعرت يبso, (please) forgive them to me. غفرها يل اف It is I who did badly. ا لذي انا ا ت سا


It is I who did wrong. ا لذي انا ا ت خطاIt is I who had evil intention. مهمت لذي انا ا It is I who acted impolitely. جهلت لذي انا ا It is I who was inadvertent. غفلت لذي انا ◌ ا It is I who was inattentive. سهوت لذي انا ◌ ا It is I who leaned (on something

other than You). انا ◌ ا عتمدت ا ذي لIt is I who did wrong

deliberately. دت لذي انا ◌ ا تعمIt is I who promised. دت لذي انا ◌ ا وIt is I who failed to fulfill it. خلفت ا لذي انا واIt is I who breached. نكثت لذي انا ◌ ا It is I who confessed. قررت ا لذي انا ◌ ا It is I who testified to Your

favors upon and with me, وعندي ا لذي انا ◌ ا لي رتفت بنعمتك and I now acknowledge of my

sins; so, (please) forgive them

to me.

ء بذنو بو وا غفرها يل اف يبO He Who is not injured by the

sins of His servants, ه ذنو يا من ال ب عباده تضر


and Who can surely do without

their obedience, لغين عن طاعتهم اوهو and Who inspires those of them

to do good, او نهم م املوفق من عمل صاحلout of His aid and mercy. ورمحته نته مبعو So, all praise be to You, O my

God and my Master. وسيدي هلي ا حلمد افلك O my God: You ordered me, but

I disobeyed You. هلي ا تك مرتين ا فعصYou warned me, but I violated

Your warning. ين رتكبت اف وي ك يSo, I am now lacking neither

justification to apologize آئة ذا بر صبحت ال فا يل عتذر فاnor power to support myself. ة وال ذا قو نتصر فاBy which thing can I now meet

You, O my Master? شيء فبا ي ا ي لك يا موال ستقبIs it by my hearing, my sight, م ببصري ◌ ا بسمعي ا my tongue, my hand, or my

foot? ا م بيدي ا م بلساين م برجلي اAre all these not Your bounties

on me لها نعمك عندي ا س لand with all of them I have

disobeyed You, O my Master?

تك وب لها عص ي يا موال

You have absolute argument

and claim against me. افلك ة و حل لي اج يل لسWWW.QFATIMA.COM Page 72

O He Who covered me from

fathers and mothers lest they

might have driven me away,

ي امن ا من سرتين ء آب ال زجرو ن ي مهات ا ال او ين

from relatives and friends lest

they might have gibed me,

خوان ال ائر و آلعش اومن ا و ن ي عري ين

and from rulers lest they might

have punished me. ا الطني لس اومن عاقبو ن ي ينHad they, O my Master, seen لعو اولو ي يا موال ا طthat which You knew about me, ما ليه ا لعت ط مينthey would certainly have

granted me no respite نظرو ا ا م اذ ا ينand they would have rejected

and parted company with me. ولرفضو وقطعو ين ينHere I am now, O my God, هلي ا نا ذا يا فها ا between Your hands, O my

justification to apologize عتذر ة فاآئ بر ذو ال nor power to support myself, ة ذو وال نتصر فا قو


nor excuse to advance as a

plea, ة وال بها حتج فا حجnor can I claim not committing

and not acting badly.

آ ق وال ئل ل ولم جرتح م ا اعمل سوء ا

How can denial, if I deny, O my

Master, serve me?

د ولو جحدت جلحو ا وما ع ينفعين ي وال يا م

How and in what manner can I

do so, يف ك ذلك ىن واwhile all my organs are

witnesses for what I did?

لي لها شاهدة وجوارحي مبا قد عملت

I know for sure and without

doubt ن لمت يق شك ذي ري اوthat You will interrogate me

about these grand matter, ر مو ال ائم آمن عظ ئلي آنك س ◌ ا You are the Just Judge Who

never wrongs, ر جتو ال لعدل الذي احلكم انك واYour justice will ruin me, دلك مهلكي وand from Your all justice I flee. ل دلك ومن مهريبIf You, O my God, chastise me, بين يا ا ف هلي ا ن تعذthen it is because of my sins

after Your claim against me; فبذنو لي يب تك بعد حجWWW.QFATIMA.COM Page 74

and if You pardon me, ن ا و ين تعف then it is on account of Your

forbearance, magnanimity, and

generosity.

وكرمك دك وجو فبحلمك There is no god save You. نت ال ا ا له ا آل All glory be to You. I have been

of the wrongdoers. كنت ا سبحانك املني امن ين لظThere is no god save You. نت ال ا ا له ا آل All glory be to You. I have been

of those seeking forgiveness. ا سبحانك امن كنت ين ن ملستغفريThere is no god save You. نت ال ا ا له ا آل All glory be to You. I have been

of those professing Your

Oneness.

ا سبحانك امن كنت ين دي ن ملوحThere is no god save You. نت ال ا ا له ا آل All glory be to You. I have been

of the fearful. ا سبحانك امن كنت ين ئفني آخلThere is no god save You. نت ال ا ا له ا آل All glory be to You. I have been

of the apprehensive. ا سبحانك لوجلني امن كنت ينThere is no god save You. نت ال ا ا له ا آل All glory be to You. I have been

of those hoping (for You). ا سبحانك اجني امن كنت ين لرWWW.QFATIMA.COM Page 75

There is no god save You. نت ال ا ا له ا آل All glory be to You. I have been

of those desiring (for You). ا سبحانك بني امن كنت ين ا لرThere is no god save You. نت ال ا ا له ا آل All glory be to You. I have been

of those beseeching (You). ا سبحانك ئلني آلس امن كنت ينThere is no god save You. نت ال ا ا له ا آل All glory be to You. I have been

of those professing that there is

no god save You.

ا سبحانك ملهللني امن كنت ينThere is no god save You. نت ال ا ا له ا آل All glory be to You. I have been

of those glorifying (You). ا سبحانك ملسبحني امن كنت ينThere is no god save You. نت ال ا ا له ا آل All glory be to You. I have been

of those professing that You are

the Greatest.

ا سبحانك امن كنت ين ي ن ملكربThere is no god save You. نت ال ا ا له ا آل All glory be to You. You are my

Lord and the Lord of my bygone

fathers.

سبحانك ريب ورب ا ائي با لني ال وO Allah, this is my praise for

You, celebrating Your glory, ا هذا ثن د ئي آللهم اليك ممجmy sincerity to mention You

and profess Your Oneness, د لذكرك صي خال ا و اموحWWW.QFATIMA.COM Page 76

and my acknowledgment of

Your bounties, counting them, ب قراري ا و د ئك آلا امعدalthough I confess that I could

never count them ا ا مقر ن كنت ا و حصهاا لم ينfor they are innumerable,

abundant, ا وسبوغهالكثر continuous, and prior to a

certain event. ام حادث ىل ا وتظاهرها وتقادمها You have been conferring upon

me with these bounties به معها لم تزل تتعهدينsince You created and

originated me ين منذ خلق تين وبراfrom the beginning of my age ل من ا لعمر اوthrough meeting my poverty لفقر امن غناء ال امن relieving me from harm, ر اوكشف لضgiving me means of easiness, ي سر اب وتس لrepelling misery from me, لعسر اودفع alleviating my agonies, لكرب اج وتفريgranting me wellbeing in my

body, لبدن ا لعافية يف او and furnishing me with sound

faith. ال او ا يف مة لس ي ن لد


If all creatures assist me to be

able to mention Your bounties,

ولو رفدين ع قدر ذكر نعمتك مجي لعاملني ا

including the past and the

coming generations, امن لني ال ا و و ال ن خريneither I nor will they be able

to do that ذلك وال هم Holy be You and Exalted be

You; ست وتعاليت تقدYou are All-generous, All-great,

and All-merciful Sustainer. من ر كري ب م ر م عظي م حيYour bounties are innumerable, ال حت ؤك آلا(proper) praise of You is

unreachable, ؤك آن يبلغ ث وال and Your graces cannot be

rewarded. اىف وال ؤك آنعم ت(Please) send blessings upon


of Muhammad,

د و حمم صل د ا ل حممperfect Your bounties for us, نا نعمك وا ل م متand make us happy by obeying

You. سعدنا بطاعتك واAll glory be to You. There is no

god save You. نت ال ا ا له ا سبحانك الO Allah, verily, You answer the

distressed, ا ا للهم ملضطر اب نك جتي


remove the evil, ء و لس اوتكشف aid the anguished, ب ملكرو اث وتغيcure the ailed, ا وتشفي قي م لسenrich the poor, لفقري ا وتغين set the broken, لكسري اوجتربhave mercy on the young, غري اوترحم لصhelp the old, بري لك ا وتعني none can help against You, س دو نك ظهري ولnone is more powerful than

You, وال ر فوقك قديand You are the Most High, the

All-great. انت ◌ وا لكبري العليO He Who releases the

shackled captive! ابل ملك ايا مطلق سري الO He Who provides sustenance

to the young child! فل ايا رازق غري الط لصO He Who is the Preserver of

the afraid seeker of refuge! ايا عصمة ملستجري ائف آخلO He Who has neither partner

nor assistant, ال يا من ك له وال شري ر وزي


(please) send blessings to


of Muhammad,

د و حمم صل د ا ل حممand grant me, in this evening, لعشية اهذه يف عطين واthe best of what You have

granted and awarded فضل ما ا ا نلت عطيت واto any of Your servants, ن عبادك م احد ◌ ا including a grace that You

donate, من نعمة تو هاليbounties that You re-offer, و دهاآلا ء جتدa tribulation that You deter, اوبلية تصرفه an anguish that You remove, وكربة تكشفها a prayer that You answer, تسمعها ودعوة a good deed that You admit, وحسنة تتقبلها and an evildoing that You

screen. دها ئة تتغم وسVerily, You are All-tender to

him You will, and All-aware, ا ء خبري آا تش مب ف نك لطيand You have power over all

things. شيء و ل ر قديO Allah, Verily, You are the

nearest of those whom are

prayed,

ا ا للهم من دعي قرب نك ا


You are the promptest of those

who may respond, جاب من ا سرع واthe most generous of those

who may pardon, اكرم من عف واthe most liberal of those who

give, من ا وسع ◌ وا عand the most responding of

those whom are asked. ن سئل مسع م ◌ وا O All-beneficent of the world

and the Hereafter, and All-

merciful!

نيا و ايا رمحن الد ال مهماخرة ورحيNo besought one is like You س كمثلك مسؤو ل لand none save You is hoped. وال ل مو سواك ماI prayed You and You answered

me. ين دعوتك فا جبI besought You and You gave

me. ئ وس ين لتك فا عطيI desired for You and You had

mercy on me. ين ا ورغبت ليك فرمحI had confidence in You and You

saved me. ين ووثقت بك فن ي جI resorted to You in awe and

You delivered me. ين ا وفزعت ليك فكفيO Allah, (please) send blessings

to Muhammad, ا فصل د للهم حممYour servant, messenger, and

prophet, يك لك عبدك ورسو ون


and to all of his Household, the

pure and immaculate, و يبني اله ا ا لط اهري مجعني ◌ ن الطand perfect for us Your graces, م لنا نعم ك آئ ومتmake us taste the pleasure of

Your gifts, نا عط ءك آوهنand register us as thankful for

You ا و نا لك شاكري ن كتand as oft-referring to You. وال ال ن ئك ذاكريRespond, respond! O Lord of

the worlds! مني ا مني ا لعاملني ا ربO Allah, Who owns; therefore,

He controls, لل ا يا من مل ك فقدر همand controls; therefore, He has

absolute authority, وقدر فقهر and is disobeyed; yet, He

covers, وعصي فسرت and is prayed for forgiveness;

therefore, He forgives. ستغفر فغفر او O He Who is the aim of seekers

and desirers اية البني ايا بني ا لط ا لرand the ultimate purpose of the

hope of hopers! ت وم اجني امل ا لرO He Who encompasses all

things in knowledge شيء يا من ا ل الم حاط بand covers those who quit

(their sins) with tender, mercy,

and forbearance!

اووسع احلم رمحة و فة و را لني ملستقي


O Allah, we turn our faces to

You in this evening ا ه ا للهم لعشية اهذه ليك يف ا نا نتوجthat You deem honorable and

reverential متها ليت ا فتها وعظ شر(asking You) in the name of

Muhammad, Your Prophet,

Messenger,

يك ورسو د ن لك مبحمthe best of Your creation, وخريتك من خلقك Your trustee on Your

Revelation, وا م وحيك نك the bearer of glad tidings, the

warner, ا لبشري ا ر لنذيand the shining lantern, راج ا ملنري السwith whom You have conferred

upon the Muslims, ا لذي ا ملسلمني ا نعمت به and whom You made mercy for

the worlds. وج لعاملني علته رمحة لSo, O Allah, bless Muhammad

and the Household of

Muhammad,

لل ا فصل د و هم حمم د ا ل حممFor as much as Muhammad

deserves that from You,

O All-great.

د ا كما حمم منك ذلك هل ل م يا عظي

So, (please) send blessings to

him and his Household, ليه و فصل له اthe elite, pure, and

immaculate—all of them, تجبني ا يبني ا مل ا لط اهري مجعني ن ا لطWWW.QFATIMA.COM Page 83

and encompass us with Your

pardoning us. دنا بعفوك عناوتغ مTo You are the voices of various

languages clamoring; ت ا ف اليك عج للغات اف صوات بصنو الso, decide for us, O Allah, in this

evening يف لل ا جعل لنا اف لعشية اهذه همa share from every good item

that You distribute among Your

servants,

ب تقسمه م انص خري ل ن عبادك بني

illumination by which You

guide, دي ونو به ر mercy that You spread, تنشرها ورمحة blessing that You bring down, هلا وبركة تwellbeing that You extend, افية جتللها وand sustenance that You

stretch, سطه ورزق تO most Merciful of all those

who show mercy! امحني ارحم يا ا لرO Allah, turn us in this hour لل ا ا نا يف ه هم لوقت اذا قلsuccessful, flourishing, مفلحني منجحني blessed, and gainers. و مرب امنني ري ن Do not include us with the

despondent. لقانطني ا جتعلنا من وال WWW.QFATIMA.COM Page 84

Do not leave us without Your

mercy. محتك ختلنا من ر وال Do not deprive us of that which

we hope from Your favor. حترمنا ما نؤمله من فضلك وال Do not make us deprived of

Your mercy, مني محتك حمرو جتعلنا من ر وال or despair of the favor of what

we hope from Your gifts. ئك قانطني آمن عط لفضل ما نؤمله وال Do not turns us down

disappointed ئبني آنا خ ترد وال or driven away from Your door. من بابك مطرو وال ن ديO most Magnanimous of all

those who treat

magnanimously

اجود يا ا ال ن جوديand most Generous of all those

who act generously! اكرم وا كرمني الTo You are we advancing with

full conviction ا قنني قبلنا مو ليك اand to Your Holy House are we

betaking ourselves

purposefully;

تك حلرام اولب مني ا ن قاصديSo, (please) help us do our

rituals (perfectly) فا مناسكنا عنا perfect for us our pilgrimage ناوا كمل لنا حجpardon us, and grant us

wellbeing. افناا و عف عنا وWe are stretching our hands

toward You; يديناليك ا ا فقد مددنا WWW.QFATIMA.COM Page 85

so, they are marked by the

humiliation of confession. مة موسو رتاف ال افهي بذلة O Allah, grant us in this evening

that which we have besought

from You

ه لل ا فا لعشية اهذه عطنا يف م لناك ئ ما س

and save us from that which we

have besought You to save us; ناك اكفنا ما او ستكفfor we have no savior but You لنا سواك ايف فال and we have no sustainer but

You. ريك ب ر وال لنا Your decree is prevalent on us, نا حكمك نافذ فYour knowledge is

encompassing us, لمك ط حمي بنا and Your decisions about us is

just. ك آئ نا قض دل ف(Please) decree for us that

which is good ا خلري اا قض لنand make us of the people of

goodness. خلري اهل ◌ جعلنا من ااو O Allah, decide for us, on

account of Your magnanimity, a

great reward,

لل ا ا دك وجب لنا جبو هم ام عظي جر ال

a generous reserve, خر لذ ام وكريand a permanent easiness, سر اودوام ل


and forgive us all our sins, مجعني ◌ بنا اغفر لنا ذنو او do not annihilate us with those

annihilated, لكنا مع والهلالكني ا and do not drive away from us

Your tenderness and mercy; فتك ورمحتك تصرف عنا را وال O most Merciful of all those

who show mercy! امحني ارحم ◌ يا ا لرO Allah, include us, at this hour,

with them who besought You

and You thus gave them,

ا لك ئ لوقت ممن س اهذا جعلنا يف اللهم ته فا عط

who thanked You and You thus

increased them, ه وشكرك فزدت who returned to You and You

thus accepted them, ليك فقبلته ا وثاب and who renounced all their

sins before You and You thus

forgave them;

ل لها فغفرا له من ذنو ليك ا وتنص به O Lord of Majesty and Honor! كرام ال ال و جلال ايا ذا O Allah, purify us and lead us to

success دنالل ا ونقنا وسد همand admit our earnest

entreaty; او عن قب ال تضرO He Who is the best of all

those who are besought يا خري من سئل and most Merciful of all those

whose mercy is sought! سرتحم ارحم من ويا ا


O He from Whom the closing of

eyelids cannot be hidden, يا من ال ليه خي ن جلفو اغماض ا nor are the glances of eyes, ن لعيو ا حلظ وال nor is that which settles in the

unseen, يف ا ما وال ن ملكنو ا ستقرnor are things vanished under

the secrets of hearts. ليه مض ا ما ال و ب لقلو ارات م نطوت Verily, all that has been

encompassed by Your

knowledge

ال ◌ ا ذلك قد ا لمك ل حصاه and covered by Your

forbearance. ووسعه حلمك All glory be to You; and Exalted

be You above all that the

wrongdoers say, in high

exaltation!

ا يقو املو ال سبحانك وتعاليت عم ن لظ لو اا كبري

Declaring You glory are the

seven heavens, ماوات اتسبح لك بع الس لسthe (layers of the) earth, and all

beings therein. او ومن ن رضو ال هن فيThere is not a thing but

celebrates Your praise. يسبح حبمدك ال ا ن من شيء ا و Yours are all praise, glory, ملجد احلمد و افلك and exaltation of majesty. لو جلد اوO Owner of majesty, honor, ايا ذا كرام ال ال و ال جل


grace, favoring, نعام ال الفضل و او and huge bestowals. او جلسام ا يادي الYou are the All-magnanimous,

the All-generous, اجلواد انت وا م لكريthe All-tender, the All-merciful. ؤو ا اف لر حي م لرO Allah, provide me largely with

Your legally gotten sustenance,

لل ا ا لي هم من ر وسع ل حلال ا زقك

grant me wellbeing in my body

and my faith, افين يف و بدين ين وديsecure my fears, و من خويف اand release me from Hellfire. يت من عتق وا لنار ارقO Allah, (please) do not plan

against me, ال ا للهم متكر يبdo not draw me near to

destruction, تستدرجين وال do not overreach me, ين وال ختدand drive away from me the

evils of the corruptive Jinn and

men.

درا او فسقة ين و اشر نس ال اجلن


Imam Husayn (pbuh) then raised his head and sight to the sky with

teary eyes and said with an audible voice:

O most Hearing of all those

who can hear! امعني اع مس يا ا لسO most Seeing of all those who

can see! ابصر يا ا ن لناظريO swiftest of all those who call

to account! حلاسبني اسرع ويا ا O most Merciful of all those

who show mercy! امحني احم ر ويا ا لر(Please) send blessings to


of Muhammad,

د و حمم صل د ا ل حممthe auspicious chiefs; ادة ا مليامني السand I beseech You for my

request حاجيت لل ا لك ئ س وا همthat if You answer, anything

else that You reject will not

harm me

ا ليت ا ن ا ي عطيت ين ين ها لم يضر ما منعand if You reject, anything else

that You respond will not

benefit me.

ا و ي ها لم ينفعين ن منعت ين ما ا عطيI beseech You for releasing me

from Hellfire. يت ئ س ا اك رق لنار امن لك فThere is no god save You, ال ا له ا ال نت ا


only You, there is no partner

with You. وحدك ال ك لك شريTo You is the kingdom and to

You is all praise, حلمد امللك ولك الك and You have power over all

things. وا ◌ شيء نت ل ر قديO my Lord! O my Lord! O my

Lord… يا رب يا رب يا رب…


DUA ASH’ARAAT

O Allah! Send blessings on

Muhammad and on the


د و حمم صل اللهم د ا ل حمم In the name of Allah, the

Beneficent, the Merciful. حيم محن الر الر بسم اGlory be to Allah. سبحان ا Praise be to Allah. و احلمد There is no god Save Allah. ا له ا و ال ا ال Allah is great. كرب ا و ا There is no might. And no

power, except (with) Allah, the

Highest Supreme.

ة ا و ال حول و ال قو با ال العظيم العلي

Glory be to Allah, hour by hour

in the night, and hour after

hour in the day.

سبحان ا الليل ء آنا ار النه ف اطر ا و

Glory be to Allah, when day

breaks, and at the time of

sunset.

و اال بالغدو ال ص سبحان ا Glory be to Allah, in the

shadows of early evening, in

the twilight of morning.

و اال بالعشي سبحان ا ار ب


Glory be to Allah, when the

evening passes away, and the

morning departs

متسون و حني حني سبحان ا تصبحون

(All) praise is unto Him, in the

heavens and the earth,

whether it is dark night, or

broad daylight,

موات و له احلمد يف الس تظهرون و اال رض و عشيا و حني

He makes life come out from

death, and lets death destroy

life,

من امليت خيرج احلي يت من احلي و خيرج امل

He makes the soil grow fruitful

again, after it becomes barren,

like that shall you come out to

face the Trial.

و حيي اال ا رض بعد مو و كذلك خترجون

Glory be to your lord, the lord

of Glory, who is above that

which they attribute to Him,

and peace be on (His)

Messengers.

ا يصفون ة عم العز سبحان ربك رب املرسلني و سالم

(All) praise be to Allah, the lord

of the worlds. العاملني رب و احلمد Glory be to the lord of

sovereignty and power. سبحان ذي امللك و امللكوت Glory be to the lord of might

and majesty. ة و اجلربوت سبحان ذي العزGlory be to the lord of supreme

authority. ياء سبحان ذي الكرب


And vast unlimited, everlasting

kingdom; the Holy who keeps

His promise.

و العظمة امللك احلقوس املهيمن القد

Glory be to Allah, the Ever

living Master, who never

ceases to exist.

الذي سبحان اهللا امللك احليال ميوت

Glory be to Allah, the Ever pure

lord. وس القد امللك احلي سبحان اGlory be to the Everlasting

Eternal. ائم سبحان القائم الدGlory be to the Eternal

Everlasting ائم القائم سبحان الدGlory be to the Supreme Lord. العظيم سبحان ريبGlory be to the Highest lord. اال سبحان ريب Glory be to the Everlasting, the

everliving. القيوم سبحان احليGlory be to the Highest High. سبحان العلي اال Glory be to He, who is

extensively praised. Glorified

and worshipped is our lord, the

lord of the Angles and heavenly

spirits,

وس و تعاىل سبوح قد سبحانه وح املالئكة و الر ربنا و رب

Glory be to the evermore

glorified, never unaware. الغافل سبح ري ائم ان الد


Glory be to the All-aware, not

dependant on any medium of

information.

تعليم سبحان العالم بغريGlory be to the Creator. Of all

that which is visible, and

invisible.

يرى سبحان خالق ما يرى و ما ال

Glory be to He who is fully

aware of the act of perceiving,

but is beyond the reach of

perception, and is subtly All-

Knowing.

بصار سبحان الذي يدرك اال و ال تدركه األبصار

و هو اللطيف اخلبري O Allah! Each day I open my

eyes, in the midst of Your

bounties generosity, blessings,

care and protection.

ا اللهم و ا ين صبحت منك يف نعمة و خريافية بركة و

Send Your blessings on

Muhammad and on his

children, and bring to fullness

for me, Your bounties, and

generosity, blessings, care and

protection, by keeping me safe

from the fire of Hell.

د و حمم فصل و ا نعمتك ا له لي متم اتك و خريك و بر

تك بنجاة من النار اف و Bestow upon me Your rewards,

welfare, favours, and kindness,

forever, as long as You keeps

me alive.

تك و ارزقين شكرك اف و ين ا ا ما بد ا و كرامتك و فضلك بقي


O Allah! Enlightened by Your

truth I find the right path. Your

favours keep me satisfied.

Amid Your bounties I begin my

day, and go to sleep

بنورك ا هتديت اللهم يت و بنعمتك و بفضلك استغ

مسيت ا و صبحت ا O Allah! I sincerely call You to

be my witness; sufficient is

Your testimony

ا اللهم بك شهيد ا ين اشهدك و ك and I call to witness Your

angels, Your Prophets, Your

Messengers, supporters of

Your Arsh, and the dwellers of the

heavens and the earth,

ك و شهد مالئكت ا و ا ي ءك آن و محلة عرشك و رسلك

ان مساواتك و رضك ا و س and all that has been created

by You, (to say) that You are

Allah; there is no God except

You, one and only, having no

partner to share with You; that Muhammad, (Blessings of

Allah be on him and on his

children), is Your servant and

Messenger,

و مجيع خلقك ب ا نك ا نت ا ا له ا ال وحدك نت ا ال

د ا و ال شريك لك حمم ان ص ليه و ا عبدك و رسولك له اهللا

and that You, over all things,

has absolute authority. شي ا و ل ء قدير نك You brings to life, You puts to

death. You makes dead, You

keeps alive.

يت و حتيي يت و مت حتيي و مت


I bear witness that paradise is

true, Hell is real, resurrection is

certain, the hour of Reckoning

shall surely come, and Allah will

raise the dead from the graves.

و ا شهد ا و اجلنة حق ان ن النار حق النشور حق اعة آتية ال ريب و ان و الس

يبعث من يف القبور ا و فيها ا نI bear witness that Ali ibn Abi

Talib, is the chief of the

faithfuls, most worthy and

true,

بن ا شهد ا و لي مري ا يب طالب ا ن حق ااحق املؤمنني

and that the Imams, from

among his children, are the

rightly guided Divine Guides,

never going astray, nor

showing the wrong path,

ا و اال ن هم اال ة من ولده ة اهلداة ئم ئمري الض لني آاملهديون

و ال املضلني but are Your close friends,

superior men belonging to You,

chosen and made perfect, from

among Your creation, of high

rank and birth,

م ا و ا ون ؤك املصطف آولي و حزبك الغالبون

و خريتك من خلقك و صفوتك You selected for Your religion,

and particularly distinguished

them, higher than others,

placed Your trust in them,

preferring them to Your other

servants, made them decisive

arguments for all the worlds.

تهم و جنباؤك ا لذين انتج لدينك و اختصصتهم من خلقك

عبادك و جعلتهم و تهم اصطف ة العاملني حج


Your blessings be on them, and

peace; and mercy of Allah, and

His abundant blessings.

الم ليهم و الس و صلواتك و رمحة ا اته بر

O Allah! Kindly put on record

my evidence, so that You

makes me say it again on the

Day of Judgement, fully

satisfied with me. Verily You

does what You wills.

هادة عندك حىت اكتب يل هذه الش اللهم يها يوم القيامة تلقن

راض نت ا و ما تشاء قدير ا ين نك O Allah! (all) praise is for You;

Praise that diffuses its

beginning (backtracks to

timeless infinity), that does not

overtake its end (goes on

beyond eternity).

لك احلمد محد و ال ا ا يصعد اللهم له و ينفد خره ا

O Allah! (All) praise is for You;

Praise that regulates the skies

and its projection. That sets the

earth afloat (in orbit) and those

who are there.

O Allah! All praise is for You;

Everlasting, Eternal praise, nothing cuts off its continuity,

never goes waste or loose

color, but moves swiftly and

proudly towards You, till it

reaches You

It (Your praise) is inside me,

around me, ahead of me,

behind me, next to me, infront

of me, over me, below me,

whether asleep, or awake;

(unique incomparable), till I

die.

مامي ا و و بعدي و قبلي و معي افرد و بقيت ذا مت ا و و حتيت و فو

يت اوحيد ف ثمAll praise is for You, when the

dead will be raised, and will be

brought to life again,

و بعثت ذا نشرت ا و لك احلمد

O Allah! All praise is for You!

Thankfulness is unto You,

together with all Your praise,

for all Your bounties

altogether, so much profound

praise that You, our lord,

desires and accepts.

تهي احلمد اىل ما لها حىت ي نعمائك ربنا و تر حتب

O Allah! All praise is to You, for

all gains, satisfactions,

courageous actions,

possessions, joy and happiness,

and knowledge of all situations.

abiding praise, surrounding

Your Eternity.

purpose of praise. و لك احلمد باعث احلمد All praise is for You, the

beneficiary of praise. و لك احلمد وارث احلمد All praise is for You, the original

identification of praise. و لك احلمد بديع احلمد All praise is for You, the

hopeful expectation of praise. ي احلمد و لك احلمد مشرتAll praise is for You, the

beloved is for You, the eternal

truthful who keeps his promise,

and fulfils the covenant, (who

has) rare and prevailing means,

(Your) Glory goes on for ever

Your signs come down, carrying countless blessings,

ل االيات من فوق سبع مساوات مات عظيم الرب

bringing out light from

darkness, لمات خمرج النور من الظleading him, who is in the

gutter of ignorance, to the light

of wisdom, transforming

ugliness of evil into the beauty

compensating virtue with

handsome recompense.

(who) forgives sins, accepts

repentance, brings down

severe punishment, and grants

Unto You will return (one and

انت الي اله اال ك املصري الO Allah! All praise is for You, in

night when darkness spreads

far and wide.

when light unfolds its luster

here and there.

هار اذا جت و لك احلمد يف الن All praise is for You, till the very

end, from the earliest

beginning.

و لك احلمد يف االخرة و االوىل

All praise is for You, as much as

the stars, and the Angels, in the

heavens.

All praise is for You, equal to

the odd, even and infinite

number.

دد الثرى و احل و لك احلمد و النوى


that which is in the expanse of

the skies.

مآء و لك احلمد الس دد ما يف جو


All praise for You, equal to that

which is inside the layers of the

ground.

دد ما يف جوف االرض و لك احلمد All praise is for You, equal to

the full and weight and bulk of

the water, found everywhere,

altogether.

دد اوزان مياه البحار و لك احلمد


the branches and leafs of trees

and plants.

دد اوراق االشجار و لك احلمد All praise is for You, equal to

that which is over the face of

the earth.

وجه االرض دد ما و لك احلمد All praise is for You, equal to all

that which Your Holy book tells

and describes.

كتابك دد ما اح و لك احلمد All praise is for You, equal to all

that which Your wisdom

surrounds.

لمك دد ما احاط به و لك احلمد All praise is for You, equal to

the total number of men and

jinn, reptiles, birds, animals,

and wild beasts.

دد االنس و اجلن و لك احلمد و ال ري و الط باع و اهلوام بهائم و الس


A great many praise, pure and

blessed, just as You wishes for,

O our lord! And most satisfying,

which gets known, and

circulate on account on

account of Your noble pre-

eminence, and sublime glory.

There is no god save Allah; The

One, without an associate. For

Him is the sovereignty, and for

Him is all praise. He is aware of

every detail, definite and exact.

There is no god save Allah; the

One, without an associate. For

Him is the sovereignty, and for

Him is all praise. He brings to

life and puts to death. He

makes dead, He keeps alive. He

is Ever-Alive, never non-

existent. All good is in His hand,

And He is able to do all things.

I ask for Allah’s forgiveness. There is no god save Him, the

Everliving, that Everlasting, and

O Allah! Take good care of me

in a manner that You are

known for and worthy of,

اصنع ما اللهم هله ا نت ا يبdo not take into consideration

what I deserve, و ال تصنع هله ا نا ا ما يبbecause You are All-wise, and

Oft forgiving, and I am a

transgressor, a wrong doer.

Have mercy on me O lord O

master! You are Most Merciful.

There is no authority and no

might, I rely upon the

Everliving. The immoral. All the

praise be to Allah who has not

taken unto Himself a son, who

has no partner in the

sovereignty, nor He has any

protecting friend through

and clear, the great and

sublime words “Allahu Akbar”. O Allah!

of the Messenger of Allah the

Lord of the worlds.

usurped your right

Allah has deemed lawful to you.

and followers.

been revealed to you.

تواىل وا تواىل خركم مبا اا لكم ا وI swear to the last of you the

same loyalty that I swear to the

first.


اغ او جلبت اوبرئت من ,I repudiate all idols, false deities ت و لط

.Idol Lat, and Idol al-`Uzza ىلعز الالت و او

O my masters, I am at peace with نا سلم ملن ساملكم ايل ا يا مو

those who are at peace with you,

I am at war against those who وحرب ملن حاربكم

are at war against you,

اداكم ملن دو I am the enemy of those who و

show enmity towards you,

and I am loyal to those who are كم ال ملن و وويل

loyalists to you

.up to the Resurrection Day لقيامة اىل يوم ا

هللا اولعن ظاملي ي اص كم كم وMay Allah curse those who have

wronged you and usurped your

rights.

هل ◌ تباعهم وا◌ شياعهم وا◌ اهللا اولعن مذهبهم

May Allah curse their partisans,

followers, and people of their

sects.

ء بر ◌ وا I repudiate them in the presence ليكم منهم ا و هللا اىل ا◌

of Allah and you.


Recite the following duas just before sunset


Beneficient, the merciful. حيم محن الر الر بسم اO Lord! Surely my wrongdoings

do not undermine Your authority.

Certainly there will be no

decrease in Your possessions if I

am forgiven. So give me free gifts

as (no amount of giving) dwindles

Your stock, and forgive me as

(forgivemess) does not put You

to any loss

ك و ان ال تضر ذ نويب ان يا ربفاعطين ما ال مغفرتك يل ال تنقصك

ك ينقصك واغفريل ما ال يضر

O Allah! Do not deprive me of the

good which flows from You on

account of the evil which preys

upon me. If You do not take into

consideration my troubles and

depressions, for having mercy on

me, then do not stop me from

getting the recompense of

bearing up the hardships I

underwent.

O Allah, to You belongs praise!

Originator of the heavens and the

earth

Possessor of majesty and كرام ذا اجلالل واال

munificence

اال ا و رباب رب م ل ل ه Lord of lords! Object of worship ه لو ا

of every worshiper

خملو ل Creator of every creature ق وخالق

شيء ل س كمثله شـيء ووارث Inheritor of all things! "There is ، ل

nothing like Him" (42:11)

لم شيء وال knowledge of nothing escapes يعزب عنه

Him

شيء ل وهو ب حم "He "encompasses everything ط ي

(41:54)

و شيء هو ل ر and He is watchful over ب قي

everything (ref.33:52)

You are Allah, there is no god but

You, the Unique, the Alone, the

Single, the Isolated.

You, the Generous, the

Generously Bestowing

the All-mighty, the Mightily

Exalted, the Magnificent, the

Magnificently Magnified

You, the All-high, the Sublimely

High, "the Strong in prowess"

compassionate, the All-knowing,

You, the Close in His highness the High in His closeness

You, Possessor of radiance and

glory, magnificence and praise

You. You have brought forth the

things without root

مث ري formed what You have formed ال وصورت ما صورت من

without exemplar

ات بال تد and originated the originated احتذآء وابتدعت امل

things without limitation

شيء ا ل رت نت الذي قد It is You who has ordained each ار تقدي

thing with an ordination

شيء ل رت سري ويس eased each thing with an easing ات

ودبرت ما دو and governed everything below انك تدبري

Yourself with a governing

نت الذي ا خلقك لم يعنك ك شري

It is You whom no associate helps

with Your creation

ا ازرك يف و ولم ي and no vizier aids in Your ر مرك وزي

command


You hast no witness and no equal نظري ال مشاهد و ك ولم يكن ل

ان حتم ردت ا نت الذي ا It is You who willed, and what ردت ا ا م اف

You willed was unfailing

وقضيت ان who decreed, and what You ا قضيت م دال ف

decreed was just

ان who decided, and what You ما حكمت انصف وحكمت ف

decided was fair

ـذي ا ان حيويـك ال نت ال It is You whom place does not م

contain

before whose authority no ولم يقم لسلطانك سلطان

authority stands up

ولم يع and whom no proof or explication بيان ال و ك برهان ي

can be confused.

شيء ا نت الذي ا ل It is You who has counted ادد حصيت

everything in numbers

شيء ل appointed for everything a term امد ا وجعلت ل

شيء ل رت and ordained everything with an اتقدير وقد

ordination

ا وهام عن نت الذي قصرت االتك ذات

It is You before whose selfness

imaginations fall short

تك وعجزت اال فهام عن كيفbefore whose howness

understandings have no

incapacity

تك ا بصار موضع ولم تدرك اال and the place of whose ين

whereness eyes perceive not


فتكون حمدود نت الذي ال ا It is You who has no bounds, lest ا حتد

You be bounded

who are not exemplified, lest You ان موجود فتكو ل ولم متث

be found,

who does not beget, lest You be ان مولود ولم تلد فتكو

begotten

معك فيعاندك نت الذي ال ا It is You with whom there is no ضد

opposite, lest it contend with You

دل وال لك لك اثرك في وال ند فيعارضك

who has no equal, lest it compete

with You, who has no rival, lest it

resist You

ـذي ا نت ال ,It is You who are He who began واختـرع ابتد ا

devised

brought forth, originated واستحدث وابتـدع

and made well all that He made حسن صنع ما صنع ا و

ش ا انك ما سبح جل Glory be to You! How majestic is نك ا

Your station

انك يف اال سىن ا و How high Your place among the ماكن م

places

فر ا و How cleanly Your Separator قانك صدع باحلق

cleaves with the truth

Glory be to You! The Gentle - how لطفك ا ا سبحانك من لطيف م

gentle You are

ا ر ا ا ورؤوف م ا م م فك، وحكي عرفك ا

The Clement - how clement You

are! The Wise - how knowing You

are


Glory be to You! The King - how منعك ا ا م ليك سبحانك من م

invincible You are

ا ا وجواد م رفعك ا ا ع م وسعك، ورفيThe Munificent - how full of

plenty You are! The Elevated -

how elevated You are

آذو البه ,Possessor of radiance and glory جد والكربياء واحلمد ء وامل

magnificence and praise

باخلريات يدك سبحانك بسطت Glory be to You! You has

stretched forth Your hand with

good things

and from You guidance has come وعرفت اهلداية من عندك

to be known

ا فمن التمسك لدين so he who begs from You religion ا وجدك و دني

or this world will find You.

ى يف سبحانك خضع لك من جر لمك

Glory be to You! Whatever passes

in Your knowledge is subjected to

You

all below Your Throne are ن عرشك وخشع لعظمتك ما دو

humbled before Your mightiness

خلقك ل سليم لك and every one of Your creatures وانقاد لل

follows You in submission

، وال سبحانك ال حتس Glory be to You! You are not متس ، وال جتس

sensed, nor touched, nor felt

اد، وال متاط، وال تنازع، وال وال ت ىجتار

nor beguiled, nor held back, nor

challenged, nor kept up with

nor resisted, nor deceived, nor ى، وال ختادع، وال متاكر ار وال مت

circumvented


يلك مرك ا جدد، و سبحانك س صمد رشد، وأنت حي

Glory be to You! Your path is

smooth ground, Your command

right guidance, and You are a

living, eternal refuge

ك حكم، وقضآؤ سبحانك قولك رادتك عزم ا حتم و

Glory be to You! Your word is

decisive, Your decree unfailing,

Your will resolute

تك سبحانك ال را د ملشلماتك ل ل وال مبد

Glory be to You! None can reject

Your wish, none can change Your

words

سبحانك باهر اال ت، فاطر ايم سم وات بارئ الس ات ، ال

Glory be to You, Outdazzling in

signs, Creator of the heavens,

Author of the spirits

امك م بدو دو ي الك احلمد محد To You belongs praise, a praise

that will be permanent with Your

permanence

To You belongs praise, a praise بنعمتك ◌ اا خالد لك احلمد محد و

everlasting through Your favour

To You belongs praise, a praise صنعك يوازي اولك احلمد محد

that will parallel Your benefaction

الك احلمد محد و يزي رضاك د To You belongs praise, a praise

that will increase Your good

pleasure

حامد اولك احلمد محد ل مع محد To You belongs praise, a praise

along with the praise of every

praiser


اوشكر شاكر ي ل قصر عنه شكر and a thanksgiving before which

falls short the thanksgiving of

every thanksgiver

ال امحد a praise which is suitable for none لك ال ا بغي ي

but You

ب به and through which nearness is ليك ا ال ا وال يتقر

sought to none but You

امحد ي ل ستدام به اال a praise which will make و

permanent the first [bounty]

به دوام اال and call forth the permanence of خر ويستد

the last

ي امحد كرو تضاعف ر اال a praise which will multiply ة زمن

through recurrence of times

and increase through successive رتادفة م اضعاف ا ويتزايد

doublings

a praise which the guardians will حصآئه احلفظة ا عجز عن ي امحد

not be able to number

ويزي حصته يف كتابك ا ا م د بة الك

and which exceeds what the

writers number in Your Book

امحد ازن عرشك املجيد و يa praise which will

counterbalance Your glorious

Throne

فيع and equal Your elevated ويعادل كرسيك الر

Footstool

a praise whose reward with You كمل لديك ثوابه ي امحد

will be complete

جزآء ل and whose recompense will جزآؤه ويستغرق

comprise every recompense


امحد a praise whose outward conforms باطنه ظاهره وفق ل

to its inward

وباطنه وفق ل ية◌ and whose inward conforms to صدق ال

correct intention

امحد a praise with whose like no ثله م حيمدك خلق م ل

creature has praised You

and whose excellence none حد سواك فضله ا وال يعرف

knows but You

امحد عان من اجتهد يف تعديده يa praise in which he who strives

to multiply Your praise will be

helped

ا ويؤيد من ته اغرق نز يف توفand he who draws the bow to the

utmost in fulfilling it will be

confirmed

امحد a praise which will gather all the مع ما خلقت من احلمد جي

praise which You hast created

تظم ما and tie together all which You بعد نت خالقه من ا وي

wilt afterwards create

a praise than which no praise is قولك منه ىل ا قرب ا د مح ال امحد

nearer to Your word

and then which none is greater محد ممن حيمدك به ا وال

from any who praise You

امحد جب بكرمك املزيد بوفوره و يa praise whose fullness will

obligate increase through Your

generosity

منك طوال بعد مزيد ◌ وتصله مبزيد and to which You will join

increase after increase as

graciousness from You


امحد جي ب لكرم وجهك، ويقابل عز جاللك

a praise that will befit the

generosity of Your face and meet

the might of Your majesty

صل د رب و حمم د ا My Lord, bless Muhammad and ن ل حمم

the Household of Muhammad

تجب املصط the distinguished, the chosen امل

م، ب، املكر فضل صلواتك ا املقرthe honoured, the brought nigh,

with the most excellent of Your

blessings

ليه وب اتك ا ارك بر benedict him with the most تم

complete of Your benedictions

ليه م متع رمحاتك ا وترحand have mercy upon him with

the most enjoyable of Your

mercies

صل د رب و حمم ة زاكية له، صال اMy Lord, bless Muhammad and

his Household with a fruitful

blessing

ة ن صال ال تكو ا more fruitful than which there is منهاز

no blessing

ليه صال Bless him with a growing blessing ة نامية وصل

ى منهماال تكون صال ة ا More growing than which there is

no blessing

ليه صال And bless him with a pleasing اضية ة ر وصل

blessing

beyond which there is no blessing ة فوقها ن صال كو ت ال

صل د رب و حمم My Lord, bless Muhammad and له ا

his Household


ة صال ترضي ه وتزي رضاه د with a blessing which will please

him and increase his good

pleasure

ليه صال ة وصل ك ترضي د وتزي رضاك له

Bless him with a blessing which

will please You and increase Your

good pleasure toward him

ليه صال له ال ة وصل بها ال ا ترAnd bless him with a blessing

through other than which You

will not be pleased for him

ريه هلا وال تر and for which You see no one هال ا ى

else worthy


his Household

ة جتاوز رضوانك، ويتصل صال تصاهلا ببقآئك ا

with a blessing which will pass

beyond Your good pleasure, be

continuous in its continuity

through Your subsistence

لم and never be spent, just as Your اتك وال ينفد كما ال تنفد

words will never be spent

صل رب د و حمم My Lord, bless Muhammad and له ا

his Household

ة صال تظم صلوات مال ئكتك تwith a blessing which will tie

together the blessings of Your

angels

و يآئك ورسلك و ا ن ,Your prophets, Your messengers هل طاعتك ا

and those who obey You

comprise the blessings of Your صلوات عبادك وتشتمل

servants

jinn or mankind, and those جابتك ا هل ا نسك و ا ك و من جن

worthy of Your response


صال وجتتمع من ذر ة ت ا ل صناف خلقك ا ت من ا وبر

and bring together the blessings

of every one of the kinds of Your

creatures which You hast sown

and authored

ليه و ر صل ب My Lord, bless Muhammad and له ا

his Household

ة صال ي صال حت ل سالفة ة ط ب نفةومستا

with a blessing which will

encompass every blessing,

bygone and new

ليه و وصل Bless him and his Household له ا

with a blessing which is pleasing نك ة مرضية لك وملن دو ال ص

to You and everyone below You

تضا وتنشئ مع ذلك صلوات لوات عندها عف معها تلك الص

and will bring forth with all that a

blessing with which You will

multiply those blessings

كرو وتزيدها ر اال يام زيادةand increase them through the

recurrence of days with an

increasing

ريك يف تضاعي ها in multiples which none can ف ال يعد

count but You

صل رب ته ا ئب آط ا My Lord, bless the best of his هل ب

Household

those whom You hast chosen for الذين اخرتم ال◌مرك

Your command


لمك، وحفظة وجعلتهم خزنة دينك

appointed the treasurers of Your

knowledge, the guardians of Your

religion

ا وخلفآءك يف رضك، وحججك عبادك

Your vicegerents in Your earth,

and Your arguments against Your

servants

نس وطهرم من ا جس والد لر اتطهري رادتك ا ب

purified from uncleanness and

defilement through a purification

by Your desire (ref:33:33)

ا وجعلتهم الوسيلة سلك ليك واملتك اىل ج

and made the mediation to You

and the road to Your Garden


his Household

هلم بها من حنلك جتزل ة صال وكرامتك

with a blessing which makes

plentiful Your gifts and generosity

وتكمل هلم اال اك شيآء من عطاي ونوافلك

perfects for them Your bestowals

and awards

من عو وتوفر ئدك آليهم احلظ وفوائدك

and fills out their share of Your

kindly acts and benefits


ص ليهم صال رب ليه و ة ل ال هلاا مد يف ا و

My Lord, bless him and his

Household with a blessing whose

first has no term

اية ال◌مدها، وال اية ال whose term has no limit, and خرهاوال

whose last has no utmost end

ليهم زنة عرشك وما صل رب نه دو

My Lord, bless them to the

weight of Your Throne and all

below it

the amount that fills the heavens واتك وما فوقهن ء مس ومل

and all above them

دد نهن تهن رضيك، وما حت ا و the number of Your earths and all وما ب

below and between them

بهم منك ة صال تقر لك ن وتكو زل وهلم ر

a blessing that will bring them

near to You in proximity, please

You and them

ي ◌ ومتصلة نظا and be joined to its likes forever ابد ا ئرهن

ا يدت ا نك ا للهم دي ل وان ا نك يف O God, surely You have

confirmed Your religion in all

times

لم ا مام ا ب اقمته ل من يف اار عبادك و دك بال

with an Imam whom You have set

up as a guidepost to Your

servants and a lighthouse in Your

lands

after his cord has been joined to حببلك حبله ن وصلت ا بعد

Your cord


ري You have appointed him the رضوانك ىل ا ة ع و الذ

means to Your good pleasure

رت وافرتضت طاعته، وحذته معص

made obeying him obligatory,

cautioned against disobeying him

ثال ا و نتهآء وامره واال ا مرت بام عند يه

and commanded following his

commands, abandoning what he

has prohibited

ال يتق ا و م، وال يت مه متقد د ر عنه ا خ مت ر،فهو عصمة الال ا خ ن ئذي

and that no forward-goer go

ahead of him or back-keeper

keep back from him! So he is the

preservation of the shelter-

seekers

، وعروة ؤمنني وكهف امل كني ، وبهآء العاملني املتمس

the cave of the faithful, the

handhold of the adherents, and

the radiance of the worlds

ف ا للهم نعمت ا لوليك شكر ما وزع اليه به

O Allah, so inspire Your guardian

to give thanks for that in which

You hast favoured him

وزعنا مثله فيه، و ا و ته من لدنك ا انصري اسلطان

inspire us with the like

concerning him, grant him 'an

authority from You to help him'

(ref.17:80)


عنه بركنك ا ا، و يسري اتح وافتح له ف عز اال

open for him an easy opening, aid

him with Your mightiest pillar

عضده، وراعه ا واشدد زره، وقونك بع

brace up his back, strengthen his

arm, guard him with Your eye

ه حبفظ وامح ئكتك ك، وانصره مبالdefend him with Your

safeguarding, help him with Your

angels

وامدده قم به ا لب و جبندك اال كتابك وحدودك

and assist him with Your most

victorious troops! Through him

establish Your Book, Your bounds

ئعك وسنن رسو وشرا ك صلواتك لليه لل ا و هم له ا

Your laws, and the norms of Your

Messenger's Sunna (Your

blessings, O God, be upon him

and his Household)

املون من ا حي به ما ا و ماته الظ نك معالم دي

bring to life the guideposts of

Your religion, deadened by the

wrongdoers

burnish the rust of injustice from واجل به صدآء اجلور عن طريقتك

Your way

ا و ي آء من س ر sift the adversity from Your road لك بن به الض

eliminate those who deviate from عن صراطك به الناكبني زل ا و

Your path


and erase those who seek اواحمق به بغاة قصدك عوج

crookedness in Your straightness

لن جانبه ا و وليآئك، وابسط يده ال ا ئك دا

Make his side mild toward Your

friends, stretch forth his hand

over Your enemies

فه ا وهب لنا ر فته ورمحته وتعطنه وحت

give us his clemency, his mercy,

his tenderness, his sympathy

واجعلنا له سامعني ، ويف عني مطيني رضاه سا

and make us his hearers and

obeyers, strivers toward his good

pleasure

assistants in helping him and نصرته واملدافعة عنه مكنفني ىل ا و

defending him

ا و and brought near through that to اتك لك صلو رسو ىل ا يك و ل

You and Your Messenger

ليه لل ا و هم بني له بذ ا Your blessings, O God, be upon) لك متقر

him and his Household)

ا وصل وليآئهم ا للهمفني مبقامهم املعرت

O Allah, and bless the friends [of

the Imams], the confessors of

their station

بعني امل منهجهم املقتفني the keepers to their course, the ثارهم ا

pursuers of their tracks

ملستمسكني بعروم اكني بواليتهم املتمس

the clingers to their handhold,

the adherents to their

guardianship


مامتهم ا املؤمتني ب املسلمني مرهم ال

the followers of their imamate,

the submitters to their command

اعتهم املجتهدين يف ط تظرين يامهم ا امل

the strivers to obey them, the

awaiters of their days

املا ليهم ا ن دي نهم ا the directors of their eyes toward

them

اكيات ا ات الز لوات املبار لص ا ا ات ئح لناميات الغاديات، الر

with blessings blessed, pure,

growing, fresh, and fragrant

ليهم و Give them and their spirits peace رواحهم ا وسلم

التقوى bring together their affair in مرهم ا وامجع

reverential fear

set right their situations صلح هلم شؤوم ا و

ليهم turn toward them وتب

ا نك ا حي اب الر م نت التو وخري الغافرين

"Surely You are Ever-turning, All-

compassionate" (2:128) and the

Best of forgivers

ال واجعل م نا معهم يف دار السامحني ا برمحتك يا رحم الر

and place us with them in the

Abode of Peace, through Your

mercy, O Most Merciful of the

merciful


هذ ا O Allah, this is the Day of 'Arafa ا يوم عرفة للهم

مته مته وعظ فته وكر يوم شر نشرت فيه رمحتك

a day which You have made

noble, given honour, and

magnified. Within it You hast

spread Your mercy

نت فيه بعفوك و جزلت ا وم تك في ه عط

showed kindness through Your

pardon, and made plentiful Your

giving

لت به and by it You have been عبادك وتفض

bounteous toward Your servants

و ا ليه ا نا عبدك الذي ا للهم نعمت ياه ا لقك له، وبعد خلقك قبل خ

I am Your servant whom You

favoured before creating him and

after creating him

You made him one of those ه لدينك فجعلته ممن هديت

whom You guided to Your religion

ووفقته حلقك، وعصمته حببلك gave success in fulfilling Your

right, preserved through Your

cord

ه رشدت ا دخلته يف حزبك، و ا و يآئك ولا ة ملواال

included within Your party, and

directed aright to befriend Your

friends

ا ومعاداة دا مرته ا ئك، ثم فلم ي ر ا مت

and show enmity to Your

enemies. Then You commanded

him, but he did not follow Your

commands


ته وزجرته فلم جر، و عن يتك فخالف يك ىل ا مرك ا معص

You restricted Him, but he did not

heed Your restrictions, You

prohibited him from

disobedience toward You, but he

broke Your command by doing

what You had prohibited

ال معا not in contention with You, nor to ليك ااستكبار ك وال ندة ل

display pride toward You

اه ه ىل ما زيلته ا واه بل درته ىل ا و ما حذ

on the contrary, his caprice called

him to that which You had set

apart and cautioned against

ا و انه ه ذ دو ك و دو and he was helped in that by Your الك

enemy and his enemy

ف ارف ا ليه بوعيدك اقدم اراجي عفوك ل

So he went ahead with it knowing

Your threat, hoping for Your

pardon

واثق ان بتجاوزك ا عبادك ا و حقand relying upon Your

forbearance, Yough he was the

most obligated of Your servants

ليه ـ نت - given Your kindness toward him يفعل ال ا مع ما م

not to do so

يديك صاغر ا وها ,Here I am, then, before You انا ذا بني

despised

اخاشع ا خاضع ال ذلي lowly, humble, abject, fearful ائف خا

ف معرت ا بعظي نو م من ال لته ذ confessing the dreadful sins with ب حتم

which I am burdened

and the great offenses that I have مته من اخلطايا اجرت وجليل

committed


بصفحك امستجري برمحتك ائذ الseeking sanctuary in Your

forgiveness, asking shelter in Your

mercy

ين منك جمري جيري نه ال ا ا موقنand certain that no sanctuary-

giver will give me sanctuary from

You

and no withholder will hold me مينعين منك مانع وال

back from You

من اقرتف مبا تعود به لي فعد دك من تغم

So act kindly toward me, just as

You acted kindly by Your shielding

him who commits sins

من وجد مبا جتود به ا لي ل ليك من عفوك ا بيده

be munificent toward me, just as

You are munificent by pardoning

him who throws himself before

You

مبا ال يتعاظمك لي and show kindness to me, just as وامنن

it is nothing great for You

من ا به to show kindness by forgiving him ملك من غفرانك ا ن متن

who expectantly hopes in You

واجعل يل يف ه ب اذا اليوم نص ك ضوان ن ر م انال به حظ ا

Appoint for me in this day an

allotment through which I may

attain a share of Your good

pleasure

مما ينقلب به اوال تردين صفر املتعبدون لك من عبادك

and send me not back destitute

of that with which Your

worshipers return from among

Your servants


و ا و ا ين موه من ا م ن ل م ما قد قداحلات الص

though I have not forwarded the

righteous deeds which they have

forwarded

فقد مت توحي I have forwarded the profession دك قد

of Your Unity

ونف ي اال شباه نداد واال ضداد واال عنك

and the negation from You of

opposites, rivals, and likenesses

تك من ا و ت مرت ا بواب اليت اال ا منهان تؤ

I have come to You by the

gateways by which You hast

commanded that people come

بت يقرب ليك مبا ال ا وتقرand I have sought nearness to

You through that, without

seeking nearness through which

ب به ا حد منك ا none gains nearness to You ال بالتقر

ا ثم لك باال تبعت ذ ا ابة ن Then I followed all this with ك لي

repeated turning toward You

انة لك والتذلل واال وحسن ست بك، والثقة مبا عندك ن الظ

lowliness and abasement before

You, good opinion of You, and

trust in what is with You

and to that I coupled hope in You رجآئك وشفعته ب

ليه راجيك لذي ا ما خييب since the one who hopes in You is قل

seldom disappointed


وس الذ لة احلقري ئ لتك مس ا I asked You with the asking of one ل لي

vile, lowly

ئس البا اخلا pitiful, poor, fearful, seeking ئف املستجري الفقري

sanctuary

ومع ذ لك خي اا وتلوذ وتعوذ افة وتضرall that in fear and pleading,

seeking refuge and asking shelter

بتك ◌ ال ال مستطي املتكرب رب not presumptuous through the ن ي

pride of the proud

بد ◌ اوال متعالي nor exalting myself with the عني الة املطي

boldness of the obedient

افعني ◌ ال وال مستطي nor presumptuous of the بشفاعة الش

intercession of the interceders

ا عد نا ب ا و اال ا و قلني قل For I am still the least of the least ذلني ذل اال

and the lowliest of the lowly

ة ر like a dust mote or lessاو دو ا ومثل الذ

ئني فيا من لم يعاجل املسي ه املرتفني وال يند

O He who does not hurry the

evildoers nor restrain those living

in ease

ب ا ويا من مين ن، قالة العاثريل ب نظار اخلاطئني ا ويتفض

O He who shows kindness

through releasing the stumblers

and gratuitous bounty through

respiting the offenders

ف اخلاطئ العاثر ا ,I am the evildoer, the confessor نا املسيء املعرت

the offender, the stumbler

ليك ا نا الذي ا ئ قدم I am he who was audacious اجمرت

toward You as one insolent


د ناا I am he who disobeyed You with االذي عصاك متعم

forethought

ا من عبادك وبارزك نا الذي استخI am he who hid myself from Your

servants and blatantly showed

myself to You

I am he who was awed by Your منك ا بادك و نا الذي هاب ع ا

servants and felt secure from You

ب سطوتك ولم خيف نا الذي لم يره ا ب سك ا

I am he who dreaded not Your

penalty and feared not Your

severity

نفسه، ا ته ا نا اجلاين نا املرن ببلI am the offender against himself!

I am the hostage to his own

affliction

انا القلي ا ء، ل احليا وي نا الط I am short in shame! I am long in آء ل العن

suffering

من انتجبت من خلقك حبقBy the right of him whom You

have distinguished among Your

creation

ته لنفسك and by him whom You have ومبن اصطف

chosen for Yourself

ب من اخرتت من تك ي ر حبقيت لش ومن اجت نك ا

By the right of him whom You

have selected from among Your

creatures and by him whom You

have picked for Your task

من وصلت طاعته بطاعتك حبقBy the right of him the obeying of

whom You have joined to obeying

You

تك ته كمعص ومن جعلت معصand by him the disobeying of

whom You have made like

disobeying You


من قرنت مواال ته حبق تك مبواال

And by the right of him whose

friendship You have bound to

Your friendship

and by him whose enmity You معاداته مبعاداتك ومن نطت

have linked to Thine enmity

دين يف ي د به من ومي هذا مب تغم ا تتغمال ا جار نص ليك م

Shield me in this day of mine, by

that through which You shielded

him who prays fervently to You

while disavowing

و and him who seeks refuge in Your ااذ باستغفارك تائب

forgiveness while repenting

به وت هل طاعتك ا ولين مبا تتوىلAttend to me with that through

which You attended to the people

of obedience toward You

لديك ل انة والز proximity to You, and rank with منك وامل

You

د به من وتوح دين مبا تتوح بعهدك وىف

Single me out, as You singled him

out who fulfils Your covenant

ا و عب نفسه يف ذاتك ن جهدها يف مرضاتك ا و

fatigues himself for Your sake

alone, and exerts himself in Your

good pleasure

وال تؤاخذين بتفري ب Take me not to task for my ك طي يف ج

neglect in respect to You


ي طوري يف حد دك و وتعدامك ا وجماوزة ح

my transgressing the limit in Your

bounds, and stepping outside

Your ordinances

ا تستدرجين ب ال و Draw me not on little by little by ئك يل مال

granting me a respite

نعين خري ما عنده استدراج من م like the drawing on little by little

of him who withholds from me

the good he has

ك يف حل by not sharing with You in letting ول نعمته يب ولم يشر

favour down upon me

Arouse me from the sleep of the ونبهين من رقدة الغافلني

heedless

the slumber of the prodigal, and وسنة املسرفني، ونعسة املخذولني

the dozing of the forsaken

ما استعملت ىل ا وخذ بقلبي قانتني به ال

Take my heart to that in which

You have employed the devout

واستعبدت نقذت به املتعبدي ن، واس به املتهاونني

enthralled the worshipers, and

rescued the remiss

دين عنك ا و Give me refuge from that which ذين مما يبا

will keep me far from You

ين وحيو ي منك ل ب حظ come between me and my share وبني

from You

ا ين عم and bar me from that which I حاول لديك ا ويصد

strive for in You


Make easy for me the road of ليك ا ل يل مسلك اخلريات وسه

good deeds toward You

ليها من حيث ا سابقة وامل racing to them from where You مرت ا

have commanded

ما ة فيها and coveting them as You desired ت رد ا واملشاح

من متحق من وال متحقين فيدت ا مبا املستخفني و

Efface me not along with those

whom You effaced for thinking

lightly of what You hast promised

لك من من لكين مع وال ضني ملقتك املتعر

Destroy me not with those whom

You destroyed for exposing

themselves to Your hate

ين وال رب ت من املنحر في رب من ت عن سبلك فني

Annihilate me not among those

whom You annihilated for

deviating from Your roads

نة Deliver me from the floods of trial وجنين من غمرات الف

save me from the gullets of ىمن هلوات البلو وخلصين

affliction

خذ اال ا جرين من ا و and grant me sanctuary from ء مال

being seized by respite

يضلين دو ين وبني Come between me and the وحل ب

enemy who misguides me

ىوهو the caprice which ruins me, and ترهقين ، ومنقصة بقين و ي

the failing which overcomes me


ت وال ين عراض من ا عرض ال عنه بعد غضبك تر

Turn not away from me with the

turning away in wrath from one

with whom You are not pleased

تؤيسين وال من اال ك مل في القنو لي محتك ط من ر فيغلب

Let me not lose heart in expecting

from You, lest I be overcome by

despair of Your mercy

Grant me not that which I cannot وال متنحين مبا ال طاقة يل به

endure

ي ل بهظين مما حتم ه من فتك فضل حم

lest You weighed me down with

the surplus of Your love which

You loaded upon me

رسال ا ك د وال ترسلين من ي من ال ه خري في

Send me not from Your hand, the

sending of him who possesses no

good

ا ليه، وال ا حاجة بك وال ,toward whom You have no need ابة له ن

and who turns not back [to You]

رمي من سقط من وال ترم يبايتك ر ني

Cast me not with the casting of

him who has fallen from the eye

of Your regard

ليه اخلزي من عندك and been wrapped in degradation ومن اشتمل

from You

ي من سقطة املرتد ل خذ بيد ب Rather take my hand and save me ن ي

from the falling of the stumblers


وزل فني ة ووهلة املتعس وورطة اهلالكني املغرورين

the disquiet of the deviators, the

slip of those deluded, and the

plight of the perishers

افين مما ابتليت به طبقات ويدك و آئك م ا

Release me from that with which

You hast afflicted the ranks of

Your servants and handmaids

ليه، يت به، وبلغين مبالغ من ع مت نع ا و ت عنه ورضي

and make me reach the utmost

degrees of him about whom You

are concerned, towards whom

You showed favour, and with

whom You are pleased

ف يد ا اعشته مح ته سعي اد وتوفso that You let him live as one

praiseworthy and take him to You

as one felicitous

قين طوق اال اوطو قالع عم حيبط احلسنات

Collar me with the collar of

abstaining from that which makes

good deeds fail

ات and takes away blessings ويذهب بالرب

زدجار عن ال شعر قلبي ا ا و ئات قبا ئح الس

Impart to my heart restraint

before ugly works of evil

and disgraceful misdeeds وفواضح احلوبات


ال بك ا دركه ا تشغلين مبا ال وال ريه ين ا ال يرضيك عم

Divert me not by that which I

cannot reach except through You

from doing that which alone

makes You pleased with me

دنيا دنية وانزع من قلبي حب تنا عندك عم

Root out from my heart the love

of this vile world, which keeps

from everything which is with You

ليك ا عن ابتغآء الوسيلة وتصد ب منك وتذهل عن التقر

bars from seeking the mediation

to You, and distracts from striving

for nearness to You

د مبناجاتك ن يل التفر وزي ار بالليل والنه

Embellish for me solitude in

prayer whispered to You by night

and by day

تك ين من خش Give me a preservation which will وهب يل عصمة تدن

bring me close to dread of You

cut me off from committing ك كوب حمارم وتقطعين عن ر

things made unlawful by You

ا من ين وتفك and spare me from captivation by ئم سر العظا

dreadful sins

Give me purification from the من دنس العصيان التطهري وهب يل

defilement of disobedience

ا و درن اخل ين take away from me the filth of طاياذهب

offenses

تك وسربلين بسرب اف dress me in the dress of Your ال

well-being

cloak me in the cloak of Your اتك وردين ردآء معاف

release


وجللين سو wrap me in Your ample favours ئك ابغ نعما

فضلك وطولك and clothe me in Your bounty and وظاهر لدي

Your graciousness

ي ا و قك وتسديدك دين بتوفيStrengthen me with Your giving

success and Your pointing the

right way

ا و ية وم ص ين احل ال رضي القول ومستحسن العمل

help me toward righteous

intention, pleasing words, and

approved works

لين وال حويل ىل ا ت يت ن دو وقوتك حولك وقو

and entrust me not to my force

and my strength in place of Your

force and Your strength

ين وال ختزين يوم تبع ل Degrade me not on the day You ئك لقا

raised me up to meet You

يدي وال ا تفضحين بني ولي disgrace me not before Your ك ئ ا

friends

سين ذكرك وال تين شكرك وال تذهب

make me not forget remembering

You, take not away from me

thanking You

ا بل ي ه يف لزم هو ا حوال الس عند غفالت اجلاهلني ال ئك ال

but enjoin it upon me in states of

inattention when the ignorant are

heedless of Your boons

ين ا و وز ا ثين مبا ا ن ا ي and inspire me to laud what You ه وليت

have done for me


ف مبا ا و and confess to what You have يل ا سديته ا رت

conferred upon me

يت ا ليك فوق واجعل ر ا بني رغبة الر

Place my beseeching You above

the beseeching of the beseechers

and my praise of You above the ياك فوق محد احلامدين ا ومحدي

praise of the praisers

Abandon me not with my ليك ا اقيت ختذلين عند ف وال

neediness for You

destroy me not for what I have ليك ا سديته ا لكين مبا وال

done for You

مبا جبهت به جتبهين وال ا مل ن لك عاندي

and slap not my brow with that

with which You slapped the brow

of those who contend with You

لك مسلم، ا ف ة لك ا لم ا ين احلج for I am submitted to You. I know ن

that the argument is Yours

انك اوىل بالفضل وا و ,that You are closest to bounty حسان عود باال

most accustomed to beneficence

worthy of reverent fear, and" هل املغفرة ا ى، و ل التقو ه ا و

worthy of forgiveness" (75:56)

نك ب ا و ب منك وىل ا ن تعفو ا that You are closer to pardoning ن تعاقب ا

than to punishing

نك ب ا و ن ا ىل ا قرب منك ا ن تسرت ا هر تش

and that You are nearer to

covering over than to making

notorious

ف ين ا ح ح بة ي تظم مب اة ط ا ا ت Let me live an agreeable life that د ري

will tie together what I want


من حيث ال ا وتبلغ ما حب and reach what I love while I not يت ما تكره ا

bring what You dislike

and not commit what You have رتكب ما يت عنه ا وال

prohibited

ين م ا و تة من ي م س ن وره بني ه ن يديه، وعن مي

and make me die the death of

him whose light runs before him

and on his right hand

يديك، و و عند ا ذللين بني ين عز خلقك

Abase me before Yourself and

exalt me before Your creatures

وارفعين ذا خلوت بك ا وضعين عب ادك بني

lower me when I am alone with

You and raise me among Your

servants

ين ا و غ ين ين ن هو free me from need for him who عم

has no need of me

and increase me in neediness and اليك فاقة وفقر ا وزدين

poverty toward You

ا و ذين من مشاتة اال Give me refuge from the gloating ء دا

of enemies

ومن حلو والعنآء ل البال ل the arrival of affliction, lowliness ء، ومن الذ

and suffering

د ين تغم ليه في لعت ما اط Shield me in what You see from مين

me

د به القامبا يتغ م البطش در لوال حلمه

the shielding of him who would

have power over violence had he

no clemency


واال اجلري ا رة لوال خذ and would seize for misdeeds had اته ن

he no lack of haste

نة إذا أردت بق و ء و سو ا وم ف ين منها ل بك ااذ و فنج

When You desire for a people a

trial or an evil, deliver me from it,

for I seek Your shelter

ذ لم تقمين وا يف حة مقام فضي تقمين دنياك فال خرتك مثله يف ا

and since You have not stood me

in the station of disgrace in this

world of Yours, stand me not in

such a station in the next world

of Yours

ا واشفع يل نك ب وا ئل م Couple for me the beginnings of واخرهاا

Your kindnesses with their ends

وقدي and the ancient of Your benefits حبوادثها ئدك م فوا

with the freshly risen

قلبي معه يقسو امتدد يل مد وال Prolong not my term with a

prolonging through which my

heart will harden

ين وال ذهب ي قارعة تقر Strike me not with a striking that ا بهآئيهل

will take away my radiance

سة يصغر هلا قدري Visit me not with a meanness وال تسمين خس

that will diminish my worth

اين ا صة جيهل من وال نقي or a deficiency that will keep my جلها م

rank unknown

ين روعة ابلس به ا وال تر اوجس دو ا ة خيف وال

Frighten me not with a fright by

which I will despair or a terror

through which I will dread

ا يت يف وعي but make me stand in awe of دك جعل هي

Your threat


take precautions against Your نذارك وا ارك ذ وحذري من ا

leaving no excuses

يت وة عند تال وره ا and Your warning, and tremble at اتك ي

the recitation of Your verses

ا ب واعمر ليلي قاظي ي ه في دتك لعبا

Fill my night with life by keeping

me awake therein for

worshipping You

دي د لك، وجتر دي بالتهج وتفر بسكو ليك ا ين

solitude with vigil for You,

exclusive devotion to reliance

upon You

نزال حو ا و setting my needs before You بك ئجي ا

يت ا ومنازليت اك رق ياك يف ف من نارك

and imploring that You wilt set

my neck free from the Fire

ا و ذابك ا ه جاريت مما في هلها من and grant me sanctuary from

Your chastisement, within which

its inhabitants dwell

وال يف تذرين Leave me not blindly wandering اامه طغياين

in my insolence

يف وال غمريت or inattentive in my perplexity for حني ا حىت ساهي

a time

ة عظ جتعلين وال ن اتعظ، ملاال وال ن رب مل ن ا

make me not an admonition to

him who takes admonishment, a

punishment exemplary for him

who takes heed


نة وال ف نظر، ن مل وال في من متكر به متكر يب

a trial for him who observes,

devise not against me along with

those against whom You devise

وال بدل يب ريي تس يل وال امس ا تغري

replace me not with another, change not my name

وال ل يل تب اجسم د وال اهزو تتخذين لقك خل

transform not my body, appoint me not a mockery for

Your creatures

اسخري وال ك ل وال ملرضاتك ال ا ا تبع

a laughing-stock for Yourself, a follower of anything but Your

good pleasure

باال ال ا اوال ممتهن ك نتقام ل وجدين برد عفوك ا و

a menial servant for anything but

avenging You! Let me find the coolness of

Your pardon

و حالوة رمحتك وروحك ورحيانك وجنة نعيمك

and the sweetness of Your mercy,

Your repose, Your ease, and the garden of Your

bliss

طعم الفراغ ذقين ا و ن سعتك م بسعة ملا حتب

Let me taste, through some of

Your boundless plenty, the

flavour of being free for what You

love


واال ما يزلف جتهاد في لديك وعندك

and striving in what brings about

proximity with You and to You

and give me a gift from among ن حتفاتك م بتحفة حتفين ا و

Your gifts

يت واجعل جتاريت راحبة، وكر ري خاسرة

Make my commerce profitable

and my return without loss

قين ا و لق خفين مقامك، وشو ءك اfill me with fear of Your station,

make me yearn for the meeting

with You

توبة لي وتب تبق معها ال اح صو ن ذنو ة كبري ال ة و غري ا ص ب

and allow me to repent with an

unswerving repentance along

with which You let no sins

remain, small or large

ال تذر وال ال و نية معها and leave no wrongs, open or رة سري

secret

من صدري Root out rancour toward the للمؤمنني وانزع الغل

faithful from my breast

اخلاشعني واعطف بقلبي bend my heart toward the

humble

احلني كما تكو وكن يل be toward me as You are toward ن للص

the righteous

adorn me with the adornment of وحلين حلية املتقني

the god-fearing

appoint for me a goodly report يف الغابرين لسان صدق واجعل يل

among those yet to come


اوذكر ن اامي يف اال خري ن، وواف يبلني عرصة اال و

and a growing remembrance

among the later folk, and take me

to the plain of those who came

first

م سبو لي غ ومت نعمتك ا لدي وظاهر كراما

Complete the lavishness of Your

favour upon me, clothe me in its

repeated generosities

و امال من فوا ئدك يدي يل ا مواهبك ئم وسق كرا

fill my hand with Your benefits,

drive Your generous gifts to me

اال make me the neighbour of the وليآئك ا من طيبني وجاور يب

best of Your friends

تها ال يف اجلنان اليت زي in the Gardens which You have آئك صفي

adorned for Your chosen

شرآئف حنلك وجللين يف ة ال املقامات املعد ئك حبا

and wrap me in Your noble

presents in the stations prepared

for Your beloveds

مقيال واجعل يل عندك ليه ا وي ا ان مطم

Appoint for me a resting place

with You where I may seek haven

in serenity

ا ها و ا تبو ا ابة ومث ن and a resort to which I may revert اقر

and rest my eyes

تقايسين وال بعظي weigh not against me my ئر مات اجلرا

dreadful misdeeds

لكين وال را الس destroy me not on "the day the ئر يوم تب

secrets are tried" (86:9)


ا و شك ل ين eliminate from me every doubt وشبهة زل

and uncertainty

طري م اق واجعل يل يف احلق رمحة ن appoint for me a way in the truth ل

from every mercy

اهب من نوالك قسم املو جزل يل وا make plentiful for me the

portions of gifts from Your

granting of awards

حظو لي حسان ظ اال ووفر فضالك ا من

and fill out for me the shares of

beneficence from Your bestowal

of bounty

واثق واجعل قلبي Make my heart trust in what is مبا عندك ا

with You

ي مستفر اومه and my concern free for what is ا هو لك مل

Yours

employ me in that in which You تستعمل به خالصتك اواستعملين مب

employ Your pure friends

ذهو عند شرب قلبي وا ل عقو ل ال طاعتك

drench my heart with Your

obedience when intellects are

distracted

والعفاف وامجع يل الغىن عة، واملعافاة و الد

and combine within me

independence, continence, ease,

release

عة، والص ة، والس حم والط نة، والعافية ا ن

health, plenty, tranquillity, and

well being


حتبط حسنايت مبا يشو وال تك بها من مع ص

Make not fail my good deeds

through my disobedience that

stains them

من ايت مبا يعرض يل خلو وال تك ات فت نز

or my private times of worship

through the instigations of Your

trial

لب وصن وجهي ىل ا عن الط ن العاملني م د ح ا

Safeguard my face from asking

from anyone in the world

وذب تم ين عن ال and drive me far from begging for فاسقني اس ما عند ال

that which is with the ungodly

املني جتعلين وال Make me not an aid to the ا ظهري للظ

wrongdoers

وال nor their hand and helper in اونصري ا حمو كتابك يد هلم

erasing Your Book

لم ا وحطين من حيث ال

ين حياطة بها تقDefend me when I know not with

a defence through which You

protect me

وافتح يل ب توبتك ورمحتك بواا فتك ورا اسع و ورزقك ال

Open toward me the gates of

Your repentance, Your mercy,

Your clemency, and Your

boundless provision

بني ليك ا ين ا ا Surely I am one of those who من الر

beseech You

م يل ا و And complete Your favour toward نعامك،ا مت

me!


Surely You are the best of those املنعمني خري نك ا

who show favour

واجعل ب Place the rest of my life in the hajj عمري يف احلج والعمرة ا

and the 'umra

العاملني ا seeking Your face, O Lord of the بتغآء وجهك يارب

worlds

اهللا د وص و حمم له ايبني الط اهري ن الط

And may God bless Muhammad

and his Household, the good, the

pure

ال ليهم ا م والس ليه و بد اال and peace be upon him and them ن بدي

always and forever
