This course is designed to give you the knowledge and skills to: • Evaluate patients with femoroacetabular impingement and hip dysplasia and formulate a
surgical approach and treatment plan• Compare and contrast techniques for treatment of FAI, including hip arthroscopy, mini open
approach and surgical hip dislocation• Compare and contrast various surgical treatment protocols for hip dysplasia• Describe complications of peri-acetabular ostetomies and hip arthroscopy and
how to avoid them• Manage the diagnosis and treatment of patients with post perthes and SCFE deformities• Determine alternative treatments for osteonecrosis of the femoral head• Review anatomy and basic science of the hip joint with special emphasis on surgical
approaches used for hip preservation
How far will your skills advance in this course? Test yourself and find out! Before participating in a key surgical skills lab, complete the ‘Performance Checklist’ to evaluate your confidence at each stage of the procedure. Evaluate yourself again
