BANABath Area Network for Artists
The works in this exhibition explore places, spaces and processes in landscape and the natural world. The artists involved in the show are a selection of painters and printmakers from the Bath Area Network for Artists (BANA).
This vibrant and varied show not only celebrates the beauty, atmosphere and colour of the natural world but also showcases a diversity of response by the participating artists to forms, features and elements experienced on land and sea, and observed on large and small scales.
Faces {Bath}The Nature Of Things
Faces {Bath} by portrait painters Malcolm Ashman, R. Scott Fraser and Ben Hughes. The project sets out to celebrate the slightly lesser well known face of Bath and places the focus on the people of Bath rather than the Georgian buildings admired the world over.
The exhibition which has been programmed as a series of pop-up exhibitions arrives at the Royal United Hospital on 5th October and fills the corridors spaces with faces of its people as well as inviting new audiences into the cultural life of the city.

Still glowing from last years Field of Light installation at The Holborne Museum, this Winter Bruce Munro returns to Bath to help celebrate the RUH 80th Birthday and the forthcoming Cancer Care Centre with an original light installation entitled Brass Monkey.
The strong pyramid sculpture pulses at the heart of the hospital, playfully exploring the roots of the well-known phrase ‘cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey’. The piece encapsulates both schoolboy humour and fascinating nautical ideas designed to uplift spirits and put a smile on your face.

5th October 2012 – 9th January 2013
Painting for twenty years, eight of them professionally, Philip Ledbury is a colourist because he simply loves colour. Philip Ledbury was diagnosed with leukaemia eight years ago and given a term of three to five years. “I am sure the secret of my longevity is art and the RUH”.
Animate Me! Is a animation project that gives patients on the adolescent unit the opportunity to use their imagination and animation to create an alternative world in which can help them understand their hospital environment and reaffirm their identity.

‘Uprising’ By Philip Ledbury
Working almost exclusively on landscape, urban and rural, Will Beck mirrors and distorts original photographs to give an almost surreal effect. Contemporary film like Scorses’s Shutter Island, inspire William with their visual tricks and graphic imagery.
Tuesdays, the documentary made by independent filmmaker Amy Hardie and Maggie’s centre follows a ground-breaking group bringing people with advanced cancer together. The documentary provides a unique insight into living with cancer and how these women develop exceptional relationships and help each other celebrate their lives in the face of death.
