the ‘Terry Fox Foundation Grant’

The local research team consists of Dr. Mohammad Al Sorkhy, Associate Professor at the College of Pharmacy, and Dr. Mohammad Ghattas, Deputy Dean of the

College, have been awarded the Terry Fox Foundation Grant, which is granted for distinguished researchers who do research on compact cancer disease.

AAU promotes tolerance values in the Tolerance Day

Under the name of Tolerance Day, Prof. Ghaleb El Refae, AAU President, accompanied with Dr. Ibtehal Aburezeq, Dean of Student Affairs, Deans, academic and administrative staffs and AAU students opened the tolerance day, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Al Ain Campus, with the participation of 14 countries, in which the UAE, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, Somalia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Adyga participated with separate pavilions, Where the students represented their communities by showing their culture and heritage.

Ministry of Tolerance launches the

“Champion of Tolerance” at Al Ain University

The fourth session of the Champion of Tolerance training course was launched by the Ministry of Tolerance at Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Al Ain campus, under the patronage of HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance. The training lasted for three days with the participation of more than 55 persons from the AAU academic and administrative staff.

Two students from AAU won the Future Entrepreneurs

Award for Best investment idea

Students, Ghanima Al Hammadi and Abida Hafez, from the College of Business at Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi campus, won the Future Entrepreneurs Award for Best Investment-Product idea for their innovative Smart Safety Alarm. Where the

prize was lunched by the Abu Dhabi Chamber in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge. The idea of innovation was to create a smart alarm system that would serve the People of Determination (Who can’t hear).

Pharmacy Students won two prizes in the

Future Pharmacists Competition

Within its participation in the Future Pharmacists Day, the College of Pharmacy students at Al Ain University of Science and Technology won two prizes for the best scientific poster and presentation of a research topic. The Second place went to students, Ranim Al Soud and Sanaa Skaik, under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Al Sorakhi from Al Ain campus, while the Fourth place was for students, Aya Al Qasem and Jeema Baheya, under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Ghattas, Deputy Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Dr. Rose Ghamrawi from Abu Dhabi campus.

Law students represent the Moot Court

The students of the College of Law at Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Al Ain and Abu Dhabi Campuses, presented the Moot Court with highly efficient performance, which is considered a simulation of a real trial, which is a deviation from the typical style in the academic process. The importance of the Moot Court lies in enabling students to acquire the necessary skills to practice law in addition to the skills required for judges.

From the vision and mission of the college in particular and the AAU, in general, to prepare teachers and professional practitioners in the educational field, the College of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences at Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Al Ain and Abu

Dhabi campuses, celebrated the students’ works by presenting their achievements files. Through their presentations, the students present their projects which reflect their achievements in the field training and the most important skills and experiences.

AAU participates in the 20th season

of GHEDEX

Al Ain University of Science and Technology represented by the Student Recruitment Unit participated in the International Exhibition and Conference Higher Education 2019, which was held at Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center.The university presented its academic programs of 15 bachelor programs and eight master’s programs in addition to the professional diploma in teaching.

Within its participation at “GHEDEX - Global Higher Education Exhibition”, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education, at Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre. HE Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammad Al Sarmi, Solicitor General of the Ministry of Education of Oman, had an idea about its colleges and specializations comprising of undergraduate and graduate programs.

A workshop entitled Public Speaking and Toastmasters was held at Al Ain University of Science and Technology represented by the Student Recruitment Unit in collaboration with Emirates Foundation Kafa’at Toastmasters Club and Emirates Foundation, presented by elite trainers.

The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi campus, in cooperation with the College of Business organized the Talents Day, in the presence of academic and administrative staffs and AAU students.Students showcased their talents, which varied between singing, dancing, poetry and drawing.

Orientation session about Fulbright

Scholarships

The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi campus, in cooperation with the U.S Embassy from AMIDEAST Institute organized an orientation session on Fulbright scholarships for Master, presented by Mrs. Ruthie Khayat. The lecturer gave general definition about the Fulbright Master Scholarships offered by the US Embassy to undergraduate students from the UAE and how to obtain it with the support of AMIDEAST. The students were very interested in these grants and valued the role of the university in providing opportunities that enhance their academic and cultural achievement locally and internationally.

Dubai Foundation for Women and

Children and AAU combat violence

The College of Law at Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Al Ain campus, organized an awareness lecture about the role of the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children to combat violence and human trafficking, presented by Mrs. Zamzam Al Ameri and Dr. Jamal Barafi, in the presence of Prof. Mustafa Qandil, Dean of the College of Law, academic staff and students.The lecture reviewed the role of the Dubai Foundation to protect the women and children who are exposed to physical, emotional, sexual, and or financial abuse. In addition to, receiving persons by means of threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, abduction, fraud, deception, abuse of power or of position.

Al Ain University enhancing school students’

knowledge on programming

The College of Engineering at Al Ain University of Science and Technology at Al Ain campus, organized two workshops on Mobile and Game Programming for school students from Abu Dhabi Island International Private School and Al Sanawbar School. The workshops were presented by Dr. Saqib Iqbal and Dr. Issam Al-Azzoni from the Department of Software Engineering and Computer Science. The aim of the workshops was to introduce school students to the fields of computer programming and software engineering and introduce fundamental and key concepts of developing mobile applications and creating animated stories and games. The participants developed mobile applications and animated games/storytelling during the workshops.

AAU promotes the positive thinking

In cooperation with the Aqdar Smart Academy - Khalifa Empowerment Program, the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi Campus, organized a training course on smart positive thinking program presented by Mr. Ayman Abdulrazeq, Sales Manager at Aqdar Smart Academy. The course included explanations about the training program to train students and staff members on how to use the system to register on the academy website.

Business students visit the Judicial

Department

The College of Business College – Accounting students at Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi campus, had a visit to Judicial Department, Abu Dhabi, along with Dr. Riham Muqattash as an application to the course Government Accounting. The visit provided students with the opportunity to bridge the gap between academia and real-world experience through enhancing social competencies.

Awareness session on voluntary culture

in cooperation with the Red Crescent

The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi Campus, organized an awareness lecture in collaboration with the Emirates Red Crescent on voluntary culture and AOUN Community Service Award.

A Friendly visit to Khalifa Medical City

In recognition of the role of local institutions in the developing societies and from the keenness of Al Ain University of Science and Technology to highlight this role and activate it, the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi campus, organized students visit to Sheikh Khalifa Medical City to visit the cancer diseased children and provide souvenirs for them. The visit comes within the framework of the University’s keenness to promote the concepts of tolerance and humanity.
