ABCs for your IBCsdrumMUSTER does not accept bulk containers for recycling, the program can only accept containers between 1-205L.However, the good news is the return, reconditioning and recycling of most IBCs is managed by a number of proprietary programs.

How do you return bulk agvet chemical storage containers?

As more resellers turn to using Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) for their customers’ agvet chemical needs, many are still unsure about the right way to return IBCs once they’ve been used.

The return process can be confusing, especially with multiple manufacturers of IBCs with different return policies.

Agsafe has prepared a quick and easy guide that may assist users on how to send IBCs back for recycling or reuse.

Schutz AustraliaSchutz Australia has a ticket service where resellers or end-users register their empty Schutz containers for collection and reconditioning.

When an IBC is empty and returned by the grower, stores should contact Schutz to arrange a collection. All return freight is covered by Schutz.

Stores must have a minimum of 4IBCs on hand.

Schutz will collect fromdistributors within 10 workingdays of collection booking.

Empty containers don't requirerinsing however some conditionsapply. Details of the collectionconditions are on the ticketlocated on the label plate of theIBC or the website (see pic).

Schutz has a collection programfor some 100-120L drums used bygrowers - minimum 10 drums.

VIP PackagingVIP Packaging will retrieve a minimum of 4 IBCs from premises.

All herbicide, pesticide and fungicide IBCs should be empty (less than 1% or 10L) and free from outside contamination. Details of conditions are attached to VIP containers (see below).

Tank Management ServicesTank Management Services (TMS) provide a collection service for IBCs in the Eastern States (NSW, QLD & VIC).
